Macbook Air 13" A1369 or A1466 Screen Replacement 

Yeah that happens. Not a big deal tough. I have a way how always to properly align the screen so it's centered and I use the top edge of the screen socket in the lid. It's actually pretty easy.

Milan Stojic Thanks, I appreciate the response. Do you think its possible to remove the bezel again without damaging the new screen? Maybe put masking tape on one side of the paint scraper so that it won't scratch the new screen? Then, once the bezel is off, it may be possible to lightly nudge the screen into the correct position? Possibly without reheating the adhesive? I don't know if its worth trying to fix, or leave it be. If in your experience its possible without damaging the new screen, I might give it a go.

How thick? I have no clue!!! Its pretty thin, and its double sided. Its a 3M tape Core series (4000 i think) and i use 5mm width for taping down the sheets, and screen, and 12mm for the bezel, or 2 strips of 5mm on outer and inner side of the bezel so it holds well.

Milan Stojic I am having a lot of trouble finding the right tape here in Winnipeg Canada. The stuff I am finding is either to thick or designed for paper. Do you buy it online?

I spoke with a 3M representative and they said "there are a series of numbers and letters that run up and down and all the way around the inside of the core. Right after the pound sign." would you be able to provide that information?

Sir Yoinksalot Nope! Dont have that info. These tapes come in large rolls that are cut to certain size. Tape that i have has only edges of some letters, so i cant tell you what it says. 3m Core series is the tape. Its very thin, maybe 0.5 mm thin, and its 5 or 10-12 mm wide, depending on what you want to use it for. If you spoke to a 3M representative, he should be able to offer you something that fits that description. If he cant offer you anything, to order or localy in his store, than he should change his job because he doesnt know how to do it, and you should order some from eBay.

The tool is a painters knife found at arts stores there's different sizes thats the smallest one. Replying here just in case someone needs it in the future. I used this painters spatula when i started fixing ipads.

I'm not sure. Can't really say without looking at it. Sometimes the screen will get damaged so much that it won't show the picture at all but when you do turn it on it will change the color from that dark green to black and u can actually tell by closely looking at it. Also shine a flashlight or something to the screen from close by when you turn it on. If anything appears on it that means your backlight is not working but this still can mean that it's because of the screen being broken. Nobody can really tell u what is wrong and what u need to replace before examining the laptop. If you plan to do it yourself I guess only thing u can do is order a screen and give it a try. Don't tape it up before u make sure it is working.

On a MacBook Air no. All the screens are compatible and work the same. Sometimes you will get a slight bluish tint if u replace the Samsung with LG screen but this is easily corrected in display settings by choosing another color set or calibrating the colors to your needs.

If you r buying only the LCD than yes. If you are buying the whole screen assembly, it will depend on the camera cable and length of the wifi antenna

Hi Milan, I have the same question. Hope you can help. I did read elsewhere that the length of the wifi antenna and camera cable differs between the A1369 and A1466 screen assembly. Now, I live in South Africa, where parts are rare and expensive. I have a late 2010 13'3" that I want to repair, and can get a broken(logic board blown) 2013 MacBook Air for cheaper than a screen assembly. So, not sure if it differs per region/model, but if the 2013 (A1466 I believe) assembly cables are longer than the A1369, I should be fine? Really appreciate if you have any insight to this problem, and if you've done a repair of the A1369 with a A1466 screen assembly. Thank you in advance.
