Please do not use any screen guard on air M1 as the same leads to screen crack because the gap between screen and the keyboard is very less while closing so if the even a small dist is there it will crack the screen and the service centre will deny warranty because of the screen cover applied
I agree that Apple Service Center does'nt accept that they have bugs in software. They simply change the hardware under warranty and the problems still exist.

Never apply screen guards on a macbook. If applied it will damage the oleophobic coating. And after some time the adhesive is so strongly attached then bubbles will be formed in the screen while removing screenguard. Also, sometime adhesives is so strongly sticks that the screen me also come of (rare case). But please don’t apply screen guards atleast on macbooks.
there is a antiglare coting on the screen if you put the screen protector on it first, it'll defeat the purpose of the anti reflective coating as it'll become reflective AF second, I've seen many post on reddit, when removing the screen protector, there are chances the the the top coting of the screen will ccome out with it and ruin the screen. I would say just keep a dry micro fiber cloth with you and keep cleaning it once in 2-3 days and just dont touch your screen with finger and dont allow others to do the same and it'll keep your screen clean. personally after a lot of research I didn't took the risk of putting a screen protector.

Bro for upcoming 4 years it will be worth . Apple chips are very poweful . In normal usage like most of us we do not use atleast 50% power of the chip. One thing to tell you that m1 max chips are faster than all m2 chips amd m3 also. Apple has reduced cores in their gpu and cpu in latest laptops.
brother I've bought a mac last two week ago but I don't satisfied the battery backup. maximum battery backup was 10 hour when brightness was 84-85% and I wached 4 hour youtube video and some codeing and other normal things. so is it ok or I should talk to the apple care..?

Initially I'm searching for a windows laptop under 80k but none is perfect for a student, some are gaming compromising battery life, some dont have backlit kb blah blah and there are tons of options so confusing!!! ..then after watching this video I think M1 would be a perfect choice for me who only need a laptop for productivity(Though those issues are minor but noticeable too)....Thanks Man!!

Hi Kartik. I have heard that the 8/256 M1 runs very well for heavy tasks, but due to memory swap usage (to compensate for lack of RAM in video editing and other heavy tasks) it wears out the internal SSD. Could you check your SSD tbw status and let me know how much it is? Would come to know how serious the problem is by the TBW level of the SSD. Because otherwise the M1 Macbook will work very well for a few years but then suddenly die because of failure of SSD and all data everything will be lost. And by that time warranty etc will be over. Bro i had one question, i had purchased my m1 air on 5th July 2021 and now its battery health is 89% and cycle count is 145 and hinge is a little loose than when it was new. So is it normal or do i need to make some changes or get somethings fixed cause i am quite worried!!! And one more thing my mac randomly sometimes presses the enter out of nowhere i don't know why. So please could you help??
@Ansible We cannot upgrade but i guess that it will be enough. However if you feel the need to upgrade than you can always buy an external ssd like the Samsung t5 or t7. Thats gonna be way cheaper than selecting the 512gb variant.

Very good review, great work covering the drawbacks & service experience. I use 16'in Mackbook pro i7 for work, I also faced the crackling/popping sound on right side speakers, that was fixed after many months via software update. Dealing with apple (service wise) is not so good experience, especially in india. Upgradability should be given in these devices, base models become e-waste/basic/media-consumption devices after few years....

A dead pixel appeared on my screen after 1.4 years. Very disheartening you to witness this when one has taken utmost case and still apple refuses to consider replacing the defective part for a quality control issue.
You can look for Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 Ryzen 7 series 5700 U processor. It is quite light and heavy performance laptop. Also, you can look for Acer Swift laptop, it is really lightweight.
