Had my doubts because it is expensive, but I bought it and it actually worked! Very excited to be able to run 3 monitors now with my Mac, thanks for sharing this, glad I stumbled across your video .
Nice, i have question with this dock can we add 4 monitors with M1 MacBook Air. Because Plugable 4 HDMI Multi Monitor Adapter supports 4 monitors will it support for M1 MacBook Air ?
0:43 Best dock you can currently get??? -- have you tried the CalDigit TS4? -- it has Thunderbolts, DP, and a 2.5Gb LAN port... and even if all ports are occupied, it still delivers the advertised power delivery of 96w :) lol
After using this dock for 4 month. I’m having trouble with this dock. Customer service sent me a new one. And still not working. One of screen black out after couple minutes. I’m using 3 monitors. Looks like I’m have to go with a different route.
I cant seem to find the correct Realtek software to use the ethernet properly, since the version they have on their website is for intel based Mac and the latest update was on 2018. Do you happen to know where can I find the right software? Thank you!!!
I'm looking to get another docking station that uses the same DisplayPort software as this one. It also requires screen recording to work. This concerns me over privacy issues. How do I know the software won't be sending out my screen information to wherever?
in the title you say macbook m1. which includes 2020 macbook pro m1. but i cannot get this to work. do you mean m1 pro or m1 max? i have m1- not m1 pro, not m1 max. there is a big difference between m1 and m1 pro/max.
I have a macbook air M1 that works perfectly fine. Based on your other comment, it sounds like you might have a lemon. You can definitely exchange it or contact the company to replace it.
Could one use this dock to switch between windows pc/desktop and a mac air? Either buying a switch or just using a single USB c cable and un/plugging as needed
How much ram does the dock use up when the MBA is hooked up to 2 4k (32inch) monitors? with a full workload, mostly office work, with a bunch of tabs open? thanks.

I've found that disabling the "Screen sharing" option or close Displaylink app, fixes Netflix not showing issue. I still have 1 external screen where I can see the content 🙂
I bought that Minisopuru doc, but it get so hot I cannot even touch it. I don't think I can trust that device. Does this get hot when connecting 3 monitors?
Hi, 2nd try to ask a question. Will this dock work with my 27 inch Apple Thunderbolt Display? It works fine with the smaller Tobenone which has a special twin USB C cable. I use it with an apple adapter that leaves me with a USBC cable to connect to the host. I like the look of this unit but need the Thunderbolt Display. Thanks for your video.
hmm the only second you show moving windows seems jumpy. it would be nice to have shown how the dock handles the screens - as that is the whole point of a review. hope it’s not to hide the fact that it is jumpy
I run multiple computer systems (Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu) off of different laptops for personal + work, so this seems like the best solve on all of these! Ordering now so hopefully seamless on the set up.
So I'm looking at using this for my Mac Mini (personal) and my Lenovo (work laptop). Will I have to add the driver to the Lenovo? The issue is that i dont belive my work will allow me to download any software that is not on our approved list by IT. Thanks.
you may need the DisplayLink driver for windows. There is a possibility it could be plug and play for the extra monitors but I do not have a windows machine to test that.
I'm wondering why Amazon stopped selling this product. Is there a problem w/the unit? Because this is the perfect Doc for my Mac m2 but I'm a little hesitant
Hi Jay, thank you for the review, I have 2 Studio Display Monitors and a MacBook Air M2. Will the device work setting up the 2 apple monitors that have thunderbolt ports and no HDMI.
I dont know if thunderbolt displays will be compatible with this. Apple has pretty much closed off that standard to not even convert to hdmi and dp from what i hear
I’m looking to get this dock to power a 32 inch LG Flat ultra wide (1080p) and also a 27 inch (1080p) Samsung monitor at the same time. The only thing I am concerned about is whether running these two displays with my M1 13’ MacBook Pro which has 8GB RAM, will put too much pressure on the device. Can the device easily handle this? Or will it cause damage to my laptop?
Hi Jay. Thank you for addressing DisplayLink software related to the screen record function for extended displays. Your setup with the Tobenone dock is very slick. Nice.
It would help with running the multiple monitors however, I dont think you will be able ot plug in the thunderbolt monitors unless you somehow get a thunderbolt to hdmi/dp converter to plug directly in the dock. I think the minisopuru is great as well and I have used both. However, the tobenone looks nicer I think . other than that, not many differences
Here's a brain challenge for you-- can you have your MacBook Air M2 hooked up to 2 dell monitors AND another 27" Mac? I have an old 27" that I'd love to use since the screen quality is SO much better on a MAC than dell. I'd like to add my 27" Mac to my current set up (2 dell screens and M2 MacBook Pro - using Dell Universal Doc station.
Perfect timing for this question. I am actually currently testing and reviewing a dock that can have two inputs at 8K resolution. I can provide you with the link if you didn’t want to wait for the review, but it should do exactly what you are looking for
sounds like it can't be done w/ current docking station that I have? I have another open HDMI port open but wondering if my display link needs to access another Mac device??@@TheTechVengers
