Bro. I have a new information. To cut to the chase, simply moving the small chip resolves the issue. My A2485 encountered problems with backlight brightness adjustment when I didn't replace the chip. However, just transferring the small chip (which contains the EDID information) solved the problem. The larger chip (Tcon) doesn't contain any information. It seems like many people are unaware of this fact.

My screen recently went blank on my mac A2485 m1 max , have tried connecting a monitor with no luck, which could be the mother board got damaged. do you have any suggestions how do i get my data off before replacing the screen?

Is this still the case? I just switched my screen and was expecting artifacts on my screen but so far it seems to be working like the original

Is there a BGA re-balling kit that you would suggest? I'm WAY too poor to pay Apple. I have a hot air station, I took a college corse in re-work and repair on SMD's so that will be fun to learn. Also, the adhesives that you suggest for the bezel components and a monitor, and if you have anything laying around for free that may help me out that's cool too. 😰

hey bro what happens if you just swap the epprom over ? in theroy that will work as that epprom is paired to the cpu of the machine .. kindly like the epprom inside of a iphone display chip/touch chip.. you can just swap the epprom if you had good enough skill and will get no important display message.. please let us know what you find friend :) also lets be honest tesa tape never going to stand the test of time for before that lcd falls of surely :D

Aliexpress. Ultimately anyone else is reselling straight from there with a massive markup. I personally purchase original panels off AliBaba

I think i have a flex cable fault. If i follow the procedure to remove the LCD and then swap the cable what would i do about replacing the glue that bonds the lcd to the case?

Use some double sided adhesive like a show at the installation. Getting a screen off without cracking it is doable, but extremely difficult. good luck

your time, is your money. obviously i don’t see that you are making money on this repair, instead of this, refurbish a glass only on the iphone screen and that’s where you making money
