Great! If you just remove the chip would the other ports work, or you must replace the chip?

No all CD3215's must be operational for the others to work

well done job, I have one question, I have the same Mac 1707 and the problem is that sometimes wont start, if I reset the SMC then start ok, no problem, and after can work all ok until shutdown. Again Reset the SMC and everything is ok, I can restart and thats work, but if I leave it for some time, same thing.... I have all the tools I need and otherwise I deal with repairs, but this is something a little more for me, I would say that something is related to power supply... Can you please advise .. thx

There are many on Aliexpress that are USB Type C with support for voltage negotiated by the host and power supply as well as current draw. Just be sure that the meter is bi-directional - some of the earlier models from Asia did not offer this feature.

hey! I really hope you can help me out I have this motherboard that had little liquid damage( just plain bottled water ), everything worked except for the keyboard so I went ahead and replaced that cable and I cleaned the motherboard. I didn't have a proper charger laying around so after I ordered one and got it in I tried it and all of the sudden the Mac was 'dead' In a way that It turned on ( fans worked and trackpad clicked ) but no backlight, no image and no output to HDMi adapter. now the board is completly dead and gets about 4,3 volts but the volts drop to zero when I press the power key.. any Idea? I don't see any corrosion on the board or the MacBook and all components look fresh and not burned. I do only have a multimeter..

I had the same board and doesn't turn on , I follow all your videos but I still can't figured out, everything seems fine I have PP3V3_G3H (3.3 volts) and PPBUS_G3h(12.6 volts) the only thing that is suspicious is the reading on L7030 with is cero. any ideas?

mine late 2016 15in touchbar won't turn on. went to apple said it might be logic board. do you guys wipe out data on SSD to replace the logic board if send it to you guys to fix.

Ж No we don’t wipe the data like some companies do. The only concern would be that the on board storage might be damaged. If that’s the case there is nothing we can do about the data.
