My BB4 Initial Power Rankings 1. Woogas I feel like a lot of people were suprised with the Woogas performance in their first game but frankly I'm not Jimmy Knorp is a pro he carried his downtown diamonbacks to back to back champions in MLW and he'll put just as much work here despite an initial rough pitching performance. Woogas performance heavily depended on how well Dan Rourke was going to play and he definitely did play being the x-factor for why they won their first game. If Dan can keep this up and Jimmy can find himself on the mound I see no reason why this team can't go all the way. 2. We Got Ice I know you are wondering why a team that just lost is second in the power ranking, well here's why. Although We Got Ice lost they still played really well showing off a lot of offense hitting 4 home runs. We got ice was unfortunately held back by their pitching though but as the tournament progresses I believe Jack will find himself and Zo's defensive contributions will keep him off the mound or at least limit how many outs he has to get. I just feel like teams able to score runs are going to fare a lot better in what seems to be a heavily pitching focused and low offense league. The other teams that did win won because of there pitching and not so much their offense except in hookline's case but that was largely in part to Joez. 3. Hookline Sinkers Hookline has a lot going for them with having two capable pitchers that both can reliably get outs unlike other teams that are mostly relying on one guy to do all the work and hoping the other guy can pick up an out in the field so he doesn't have to pitch as much. I believe just this alone will allow them to go far but what raises questions is their offense, I know they put up 5 runs against Del Caribe but that was pretty much against Joez the uncontested worst pitcher in the league and Lou Dab shut them out in the first inning so if this team faces better pitching I'm not sure how they'd fare but their pitching looks solid and that definitely can carry them far. 4. MacFlurry Power Macflurry Power despite being in Blitzball Battle now for their fourth year MacFlurry Power still feels like a team of unknowns, you have to ask how well Kollin Stone and K Mac are going to pitch and how well they are going to hit. They definitely did one of those really well in their first game shutting out who I felt were the number one team coming into the tournamment in love yas and also scoring two runs as well solely against Dalton Feely though Love Yas' weaker pitcher and doing nothing to Nicky Cass the reigning cy young winner. Stoner pitched beautifully completely shutting down Nicky and Dalton while K Mac also held up his end of the bargain. If they keep the good pitching up and get the bats going they could be a real threat. 5. Baggage Out of all the teams that won Baggage was the least impressive Jimmy and Jake pitched well shutting out Forgotten Rotten but only scored one run albeit it was a walk off so they could've scored more but I didn't see enough to make me forget how bad they were in bb2 and bb3. Plus like a lot of teams they were shut out in the first by the other teams better pitcher although they really got on Trev in the 2nd. Baggage like a lot of other teams can succeed if their pitching is good and they start hitting if not we might see them missing the playoffs again but they're off to a good start. 6. Love Yas I thought this team was going to be the best coming into the tournament due to Nicky's incredible pitching and solid bat and Dalton's sneaky good bat and defense greatly benefiting from the rule changes well only half of that showed up in this game which ultimately led to them taking an L. Nicky was good pretty much completely shutting down MacFlurry Power but he just looked lost at the plate showing terrible plate discipline as he swung at almost anything while Dalton just couldn't carry the weight that Nicky forgot to even pick up. Then there's Dalton's pitching like I said he is a defensive wizard and we saw some of that as he got one out but still had to get one more and unfortunately collapsed giving MacFlurry the two runs they needed to win the game. If love yas want to get back on top they need to score runs and they just didn’t do that at all in this one. 7. Forgotten Rotten It's hard to believe this is the team that won two chips in bb1 and bb2 with their performances so far in bb3 and bb4 Trevor looks lost at the plate while his brother Marshall is pretty much a big question mark as we know really nothing about what he can do and their first game didn't provide a lot of insight. Trev pitched well in the first inning then pretty much just imploded and made the questionable decision of putting a guy who basically has never even thrown a pitch in an actual game into a bases loaded situation. Forgotten Rotten can be good if Trev finds himself at the plate and Marshall is productive at the plate and at least not Joez level on the mound. 8. Del Caribe It truly saddens me to see the formely pinstripe strong now Del Caribe in 8th place but that game reflected all my greatest fears about this team. Their run in BB3 was amazing and I truly believed they could've gone farther if it wasn't for bad managerial decisions. Let me just say I like this team and Lou Dab is my favorite player and I truly believe he is the best hitter in the warehouse. The downfall of rhis team is Joez it's pretty much just Joez his pitching is just terrible and the amount of times he has cost this team games is absurd. Albeit Lou Dab was not his usual self with Del Caribe getting shut out in the first and Joez did hit a home run but that wasn't enough to offset his terrible pitching. This team's strategy is simple either outscore the oponent or lose it got them far in bb3 but they didn't do it in their first game of bb4. All in all I feel like all of these teams are a lot closer in power than a lot of people think as every team has a realistic path to getting far in the tournament it's just for some that path is a lot easier than others. These opening matches only exemplify that as we saw a lot of teams winning games that they weren't favored in. I'm really excited to see how the tournament will progress and what team eventually comes out on top.

Might be rude, but just marathoned BB3, and I'm so glad the Como Captains are gone, found them annoying and now everyone is so likeable in this, just like Ball In Play League

I watch these games for the production values and the personalities. But I gotta say that the actual game play is kind of boring. A lot of standing around and watching pitchers throw balls or watching hitters swing and miss. I think the game would be better if 2 balls = walk and 4 strikes = strikeout. Try to force the pitchers to throw more strikes.

I’m confident in Love Yas as the season goes on. Their pitching is good and I think Dalton is going to be able to find it as the tournament continues. The only worry is the batting, where it seems that they really can’t get much going. I think they will be fine though, just gotta lock in. As for Macflurry power, Kmac is bringing them down hitting wise. He expands the zone like crazy. They need to rein it in if they want to put better numbers up.
