Says alot that's it's been eleven years since this was posted and almost forty since the show started and yet this still gets so many new views and appreciation after all this time. The true test of success is time and this show and character along with Magnum, PI, The Rockford Files and quite a few more are truly timeless classics that these damn reboots they keep doing won't ever be able to do.
If MacGyver can stop a nuclear explosion with a gum wrapper, fixing the brakes on a car should be a piece of cake. Props to the stunt man hanging off the car.
@@diegosilang4823 "Sie betreten Deutsche Bundesrepublik" is also no correct German. There is a "die" missing before Deutsche Bundesrepublik. And even so, it was on the wrong side of the border and it was never witten that way on any checkpoint. The street marking are also completely wrong since they filmed it in the US. Jeez....
@@brianrayner676 My experience is that broken power steering is worse than manual steering. If power steering is broken it fights you even when moving.
@@drpinky504 it doesn't " fight you " . The ratio is a lot higher on a manual box. So yeah, a box that had power assist being used without it requires more effort. Once it's rolling the effort is very little.
Same hour in Italy, always used to watch it when staying home sick. Also, when I moved to Venezuela some years ago, they were passing it in the early morning and I used to watch it.
I must go to school! Then I got new VHS-player, so i can watch too, Sadly, here in Finland was long delay after start - or ads- , so ending was often missed "out of tape" or first minutes missed.
"MacGyver was/is the best tv show ever! In my country, whenever you had to face some difficult situation, we Brazilians used to say "Vou dar uma de MacGyver ("I'm gonna handle it in MacGyver's style") ! (gilberto lehrer from brazil)
I cannot fathom why, but Richard Dean Anderson was the love of my life🥰 I couldn't get enough Macgyver when I was growing up. Normal girls watched My little pony or SheRa....nope not me. 🤣😁❤🍻
The worlds greatest optimist 😂 Can you imagine how short this show would have been if Mac was a Pessimist? “No breaks? We’re gonna die!” “Bomb counting down while I’m tied up? I can’t do anything!” “Trapped in a gas chamber? No I can’t escape! I guess this is how I end!” 😂
It occurs to me, that MacGuyver is basically acting like a living R2 unit in this scene, diverting power from one "system" to another after the "ship" is hit by weapons fire. (Yes, I'm a geek.)
0:40 The brake pedal is to the metal and the brakes are "fading"? 0:51 Did the malfunctioning brakes make the steering wheel too hot to hold? 0:55 They are obviously not doing >130 km/h. 1:14 The emergency brake uses a cable, not brake fluid. Otherwise, what good would it be in an emergency? 1:42 If you pull the hood latch from inside, you still have to pull another latch at the front of the car. The hood would've slammed into the windshield too as I've experienced. 2:03 He doesn't have much trouble hanging on considering they're doing 130 km/h and sliding around curves. 2:18 The brake line is still spraying fluid even though the pedal long stopped working? 2:48 He can't hear you! Oh wait, I guess he can. 2:58 I've never seen clear power steering fluid. Did he pull the washer fluid line instead? 3:35 The reservoir doesn't have to be filled to the brim before trying the brakes. 4:02 Really? They're just going to take off again with a leaking brake line and a leaking power steering line?
yeah, total crap. It's like the people who made this know nothing about cars. Also, they would need to bleed the brakes before they actually work. haha.
actually , most of the people in the greatest country in the world, where I live, learn to drive their first times w a "stick" ...ignorance is super dope though
This series had been the reason why I studied chemistry in the first place. However, as I am from Germany I can tell you that the 'boarder' between both Germanies did not look like that! 😂
Volvos have a duel hydraulic breaking system including a second reservoir. If one line is compromised the other system would still be there. Further: the lines out of the master cylinder up to the fender wells are all metal and not rubber. Whatever brake line that was hit by the bullet was a modification made for this show. So call I this BS. Also hoods don't fly off because the internal latch is released. There is a primary latch which has to be released at the front of the car. Never mind that the hood is attached with some formidable bolts where it is the hinged to the car.
yeah it's total crap on so many levels. Dual brake systems were mandated in the US sometime in the 60s. Probably similar time frame for Europe too. The people who make TV shows know the average person knows nothing about mechanics, so they can just throw some crap together.
not true, you can use power steering fluid for brakes, even transmission fluid. but don't use either for transmission fluid, that would be bad for transmission
@@robrod8329 Straight from the owner's manual: "Using the wrong fluid can badly damage brake hydraulic system parts. For example, just a few drops of mineral-based oil, such as engine oil, in the brake hydraulic system can damage brake hydraulic system parts so badly that they will have to be replaced. Do not let someone put in the wrong kind of fluid." Power steering fluid and transmission fluid are mineral-based oils.
I find it hard to believe that there would be germans in california (talking about military), because there ain't no german region with that climate or that kind of roads (instead of two yellow lines, they have just one white line). And I dont get it with the border thingy too. From Cali Germany to Cali America with those pathetic wooden boxes as border patrol ? :D:D And of course the whole brakes thing is a fail. Brakes @ 3:09
As a German, there are so many fails to make it look like Germany....all the way to the end with the wrong grammar on that flimsy wooden shack at the border. Still like the old series better, the new version is just not the same.
When I saw this for the first time I thought this was a Gambit, until I realized it was part of the episode and boy what a start to the episode!!! Pretty exciting stuff and the rest of the episode was great too. I forget though, this guy that was driving the car, wasn't he hypnotized or something and tried to kill MacGyver in the end because he was told to or he'd be killed?
Hum, interesting how physics did not apply at all to this scene. He pumped the brakes and he still travel to the exactly same speed as the car without being projected.
