I get lowkey nostalgia from this, even tho I was never there. Back in 2017/18 when I was interested in Caribbean culture I was researching stuff and listening to this, falling down some rabbit hole... and that feeling has once again gripped me all of a sudden - the Caribbeans are magical: it's like a melting pot of every single culture & type of human on Earth, but without the problems being brought there. I like to imagine this is what it would look like if humanity had to restart... and that too on some tropical island ❤ ... It's almost too chill for me. But I like the crowd and carefree attitude. No wars, no super difficult life, no political conflicts, chill people, chill places.

Having missed Carnival 2014 I've had no choice but to consume bits and pieces of it online. I must say - the feeling of loss, longing for the warm embrace of my people of all creed and race, and of course to be immersed in the spirit of OUR Carnival has never before hit me on such a deep emotional level until I watched this video, and is a sobering reminder of how much I love and miss T&T . I gotta bring my white friend who has never traveled to a fete in Trinidad like this. To me its normal(But still awesome)as my parents are trini and i go there regularly or whatever. but to uptight him who can't let go of his inhibitions this would be a ground breaking experience.

only Trinidad carnival is like this every Caribbean country has something different but since soca was born in Trinidad and Tobago and we were voted the happiest people alive I strongly recommend Trinidad
