I asked my sister what her favourite colours were...she said orange and purple! I'm going to try your half square triangles, flying geese and what ever I can muster!

Hi! While you were demonstrated the stitch-in-the-ditch and fill-in, I was reminded of two things-coloring as a child and doing jigsaw puzzles. In coloring I would first outline around the inside of the shape I was coloring first than color it in, so I would not go outside the lines. In doing puzzles, I always do the entire edge before doing the rest of the puzzle. So very similar processes between the three activities. Thank you for the instruction and the memories!

I got Slim from your store and I LOVE it. It is so easy for this beginner quilter. I have been so apprehensive about machine quilting, but your videos have built my confidence up. After struggling with a lap quilt, I took a step back and quilted placemats. Today I finished my first free motion piece, a large pillow sham. Thanks for all that you do to help us newbies out.

Hooray! You are marvelous, darling. Just marvelous. Love your vids. Being new at quilting, you inspire me to break out and be daring. I'm not very accurate but I'm having such fun and learning so much that when things go a bit wonky I just say "It's okay. It's a (wall hanging, placemat, runner etc), it's not a wedding gown." Thanks Angela.🙋

Hi AngelaI have to say that you have inspired me to love my free motion quilting. The rulers are a great tool. I took one of quilted projects to a quilting retreat yesterday and I got somany positive comments. I told them all about you and your dot to dot quilting craftsy class and the benefits of using the rulers to make the lines straight. Thanks for the lessons and the laughs.

Thank you for doing so many machine quilting demos on a domestic machine! That is so helpful. I used to own a long-arm, so I can definitely see how what you show on the domestic machine can easily be translated to a long-arm. But your demos on the domestic machine help all of us to see how it can be done. And gain confidence on the machine that we already own :-)

Thanks Angela! I like the way you demonstrated the way you actually move..... slow, not fast. Very often when I watch the demonstrations my first recall is the “fast forward” so, when I initially started free motion quilting I thought faster movements were better. I did slow it down to a methodical pace. Your descriptions of nice and slow and the fast forwards were just right. Thanks again, you are a really good instructor ( I wanted to say communicator but I’m retired and instructor is just as powerful but nicer). Looking forward to longarm tutorials! Sally

The way you move around the quilt is so well planned - it reminds me of a dialog in Back to the Future3 about thinking fourth dimensionally.(yes, I am a movie nerd). We just all need to think in the fourth dimension to move around the quilt - add that echo later to help you move around the quilt. Brilliant!

"Trust me. When you're done, nobody's going to notice [if your quilting's not perfect]". I think that is the key to all quilting. You are right Angela. People will just marvel that you made something they couldn't possibly. And that you took the time, trouble (and expense) to make it. I mean, when was the last time you stuck your nose into someone ELSE's quilt to judge their quilting skill? We need to give ourselves the same break. I agree with your advice: Be kind (especially to onesself), and please stop "should-ing" all over yourself! ~Diana from Toronto

Hi Angela! I have to tell you -- I tried FMQ a long time ago and it was a horrible mess. I was so discouraged, I never tried again. However, after watching your videos and your smiling, happy face, I decided to try again and voila -- it wasn't so bad! I have been practicing and practicing and just bought Slim today! I've already tried it out just a little bit and you know what? I am now confident that, with enough practice, I CAN DO FMQ! Angela, First I just want to say thank you for sharing all your wonderful quilting ideas with us. I love watching your videos. I get excited when I see that you have uploaded one. You are soooo blessed and talented (and funny). Anyways, I am a beginner quilter. I made one quilt for my mother for her birthday in 2017. It turned out somewhat ok to me, but she loves it. I guess that's all that matters. I am currently working on a second quilt, piecing it together right now. I've been practicing quilting on some scraps to try to get better at it so by the time I'm finished piecing my quilting will have improved. I feel like I struggle with gliding doing the free motion. I even bought a small supreme slider and it still seems like I'm struggling gliding as I'm trying to free motion. You make it look so easy. Even in this video I see you didn't use one or had an extension table. What am I doing wrong?

There was a few different sound options in this video. I defiantly prefer the sound of the machine without the music. Having just finished you All Roads quilt design with the Turn in Early quilting option, I found that it was helpful to pay attention to the sound/speed of the machine. Angela, do you use a thicker thread when stitching in the ditch, or any other quilting? You are an inspiration 😘

I like to use a 50 wt thread. I use it for free-motion quilting as well as stitching in the ditch. Hope that helps!

Would have loved to see you finish the quilt. Were you going to use the background fabric as a border? I need to know how to do that.

Have you made a video where you discuss using a domestic machine, a larger size quilt, and rulers? How do you manage all this? Also, do folks continue to pin baste when using rulers?

Love it! What colour thread are you using? Can hardly wait to get your rulers❣

Hi Angela. Another great video from you. I know you said it was Aurifil thread but what colour are you using? I have a quilt that is very multi coloured and I need a quilting thread that won’t be too obvious.
