Another attempt at fixing up the spindle on my vintage Karger lathe. In this video I do some light scraping on the broze bearings, and glue them back-in with some anaerobic curing loctite
Anyone that claims they've *NEVER* done that is either lying or they never get their hands dirty! Back In 1968 I was soldering a Mil Spec Amphanol Aircraft connector with over 40 wires ...I think. I did an excellent job and was elated with myself. Then I saw the cable collar laying on my bench! !*!*!* The other end of the cable already had a connector on it! So you know what came next..... Damn! I'm still pissed! BTW, I love your old lathe. She has that "I'm not just a machine" look. "I'm a work of ART" Thanks for the video. Wakodahatchee Chris
A suggestion, when putting any item in any chuck to have a parallel inner and outer faces. Try putting some spacers screwed into the chuck face and face them off, Then when you place any item to be turned, you can be assured your turning the item parallel See Joe Pye's video ,
don't be so hard on yourself,, you have kept at it where others would have quit. it will be a good machine,,,,, if you don't forget that fucking belt!!! good luck👍👍
