Track Title: "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 in D" Artist: Sir Edward Elgar & Chris Worth [Performed by the Apollo Symphony Orchestra] Album: Apollo Symphony Orchestra - Classic / Romantic - Elgar - 02 Release Date: Unknown
I remember in sixth grade when we graduated to Jr high, I went and got a pair of sunglasses like Macho Man and a bandana I wore under my graduation cap. When this played and we went on stage to get our diplomas I threw the shades on walked across the stage, threw my finger in the air, screamed "ohhhhh yeeeaaahhh! Dig it!" And did the Savage handshake with Hogan to my principal...he was pissed but what the hell was he gonna do? I popped thr crowd though and that's all that matters...RIP Macho!
I haven't done a normal handshake in ten years. It's always the Savage-Hogan handshake. Elderly family members, clients at work...doesn't matter. "I feel the power, yeah."
I went to my sister in law's college graduation, and they played this song. I couldn't help myself. In my best macho man voice, I yelled out ,"ooooooooooooooo yea, snap into a slim jim."
This moves me to tears. I think of "Macho Man" Randy Savage when he was champion. At the same time I think of my childhood. The good ole days of wrestling. I'm glad I got to see him wrestle live.
I saw him at a house show when I was a kid. Even though he was a bad guy, I was cheering for him. I even bought a Macho Madness bandanna at the merch stand.
And his opponent... Coming down the aisle accompanied by The First Lady of Wrestling Miss Elizabeth From Sarasota, Florida Weighing in at 239 pounds He is the World Wrestling Federation Champion The Macho Man Randyyy Savvvvaaaagggggeeee!!!
@@horizontoday7874 How about..."Coming down the aisle is the challenger, from Sarasota, Florida, Weighing 245 pounds, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage" - The Fink, Wrestlemania VIII
I remember graduating Middle School in 2002 and doing the Randy Savage spin when my name was called. A lot kids did. I didn't even know this was the graduation theme until I graduated.
Ooh yea tell u lil punks this the macho men randy & andy dont need no stinkin graduation song or notthing oohyea lemme tellyou all this only us are n a league of true champions ohyea rip macho legend oohyea
Did anyone think it was weird that macho man had a graduation song, but yet his brother "The Genius" had a graduation gimmick? That shoulda been genius theme
I always thought that was strange too cause he was the one who wore the cap and gown 🎓 and that is what they wear at graduation 🎓 and this is the theme song 🎼 they play so it would have fit him better. it's also strange cause he is his brother. I always expected the macho man Randy Savage to make a appearance whenever I went to a graduation 🎓 and heard this play and I was expecting him to throw out slim jim snacks to the crowd.
Macho Man passed into legend as one of the greatest wrestlers the world has ever known. In a distant land, mythical dragons of Skyrim heard of his great accomplishments and seek to emulate him in all things.
Bret Hart claimed it but Randy Savage is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Every time I saw him compete, he was phenomenal. Miss seeing him. Rest in Paradise, Randy.
Macho Man Randy Savage. In the ring, the sheer embodiment of Speed, Precision and a well versed tactition. On the mic, you can feel the intensity when he's not even trying. When he is, look out. That is where you feel all of Macho Madness!
Ever since he passed i can't listen to this without crying. Also this theme always gives me goosebumps, even to this day. Especially after it first hit and the crowd just absolutely went nuts.
Imagine for a second, its the royal rumble next year and at #27, you hear this The roof would tear off the joint! Sadly too late, but we're allowed to dream
In an era when almost all wrestlers used heavy guitars ir synthezisers only Macho Man could use this anthem and totally own it...Rest in peace Randy...
Yes it is. I wrote that in one of these post also when someone said it was a graduation theme. Although I must admit that Macho Man was my favourite wrestler growing up.
Simply the BEST!!!! I can close my eyes and see Miss Elizabeth on his right shoulder while he's in the middle of the ring taking it all in like the champion he was and always will be...
I know people like to talk about how Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, etc are the icons of WrestleMania. But I think Mach Man truly captures the Wrestlemania spirit better than anyone else. WM3 - Just straight up pure wrestling classic. WM4 - The unbeleivable undersog story who climbed insane mountains to reach the top of WWF in one night. WM7 - Emotional story telling that has yet to be surpassed even after 30 years.
Just look at Macho's WrestleMania dance partners, not counting his first (George Steele) or his last (Crush) WM3: Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat WM4: "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (after beating 3 other guys) WM5: Hulk Hogan WM6: Dusty Rhodes WM7: The Ultimate Warrior WM8: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair Who else can match that six year run of different legendary opponents?
An absolute icon in the world of pro wrestling, who will never be forgotten. He did what it took to be a true master of his craft, and he should've been in the WWE HOF a LONG time before he actually got in. Here's hoping that somewhere, he's dropping elbows on all the demons he comes across, and keeping them at bay. Thanks Mach. And also thanks ETHD for upping this....an essential theme that needed to be here. =)
This... This comment right here man... Words we all hope are true and no one could've said it better. Won't say you won the internet but you won this comment section at least
It was Macho Man who messed that up, though. He demanded that if he were inducted his father and brother had to be inducted with him, and after his death the WWE tried to induct him many times but his brother wouldn't allow it earlier than he did in honor of Randy's wishes.
@@spittertron4920 tbf,he may have messed his Hall of Fame Induction up,but giving his dad and brother shoutouts, and giving the final approval for his family to inherit the spiritual rights of the macho man gimmick who then gave it to jay lethal, who as we all know, was a jolly good chap indeed, ultimately a winner was him
Wrestlemania VII when Macho and Liz reunited. Man, I ain't embarrassed to admit that moment still hits me in the feels. Miss the Macho Man. The greatest of all-time! Ohhhh yeah.
It's amazing how diverse WWE's theme songs were back then. There were hard rock, disco, instrumental, classical music, just to name a few genres, and all fitted perfectly with their characters.
I know that the Pomp and Circumstance March was around long before Gorgeous George and Randy Savage used it as entrance music, but I couldn’t help but think of the Macho Man when it played at my high school and college graduation ceremonies. Randy was one of the first stars I noticed when I discovered wrestling in 1992; I loved the crazy neon designs on his ring gear.
How I wish Mach could have had one last hurrah after a HOF induction before he passed, like Warrior did. Just to hear his theme echo through an arena one more time as the fans explode. Oh what could have been.
10 years ago yesterday, the Macho Man Randy Savage died for us, protecting humanity from The Lord’s rapture as prophecized by Harold Camping, by flying through the Heavens and elbow dropping Jesus Christ straight through His Sacred Heart, defeating Him 1, 2, 3. Thank you Macho. Can I get an OOOOOHHHH YEEEEEAAHHH!
His match with Steamboat at Mania 3 is the stuff of legend, rightfully so, that match by itself revolutionised WWF and is responsible for the style we see in WWE today. R.I.P. Mach'
I love professional wrestling. And the origin story of my love of pro wrestling, a decade before I really got into it in the Ruthless Aggression era, was when my cousin gave me his stuffed Macho Man. According to my mother, I squashed that thing. Not a lot of people ever squashed the Macho Man in an actual ring, obviously, but I guess the stuffed version didn't have the same pull in my childhood bedroom in 1995. Rest in peace, Macho Man. Snap into those Slim Jims in Heaven, and know that there's at least one person who, a decade plus after you passed from this world, came across a store with a Slim Jim display still based on your head, and bought the Slim Jim from that display in your name.
The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Coming down the aisle and accompanied by the first lady of wrestling Elizabeth, from Sarasota, Florida, weighing 239 pounds, Macho Man Randy Savage! Rest in peace Randy and Liz.
I'm actually proud of the little kid version of me cause I always loved Macho Man even though he was a bad guy for his first however many years in the WWF. I still loved him when he turned but he was pure magic as a heel.
Larger then life wrestler, walks into the ring to the sounds of a matching band while dressed like a human rainbow, if that human rainbow was built like a mountain of muscle; THE MADNESS!!!
Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the Free, How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee? Wider still and wider shall thy bounds be set; God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet, God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet.
Why can’t these classic themes be on the WWE games?? Instead, they have terrible versions of Macho Man, British Bulldog, etc. Great work uploading them all.
@@anegg1369 what he means is why can't they have their actual versions played. If you listen to the ones in 2k and you listen to this one (the actual theme they used live) there's a huge difference in terms of its musical quality
As do I. I wrote that in one of these post also when someone said it was a graduation theme. Although I must admit that Macho Man was my favourite wrestler growing up.

I was a hardcore WWF when I was a kid. So much that at my older brother's Graduation, I asked my pops, why are they playing The Macho King's music? That was May 1990. That's what he was called back then.
when i hear this music i become the announcer. "WALKING DOWN THE ISLE ACCOMPANIED BY HIS MANAGER ELIZABETH....FROM SAROSOTA, FLORDA WEIGHING 262 POUNDS....RANDY MACHO MAN SAVAGE!!!!
