"I definitely won the lottery in life. I've never met anyone as beautiful and as cute as her in my life. I say that every day. The first time I met her, I knew I immediately wanted to marry her" - Mackenyu interview about his wife
Him practicing his karaoke song choices during while other people are singing is probably one of the most Scorpio things 😂 even if it's just for fun but it's gotta be done ✨ perfectly ✨
Him being asked if he's a fan of anime is like kpop idols that come from English speaking countries being complimented on/questioned about how they speak English so well.
You don’t want to assume just because someone is Japanese that they love anime. It’s important and they’re proud of anime but it’s also like assuming a Korean person loves kpop. You gotta be careful.
@@halatiny6537 I was more so referring to him being on the cast for the show. Like, not everyone that is cast for an adaptation of something is a fan of it, I get that. But, more often than not, they are a fan of the genre at least. Just like the fact that most of the kpop idols that speak really good English are from countries that have English as its first/main language.
The fact that he grew up in Japan but he lived in LA for years but he’s still introverted and more reserved and you can see he’s not just used to their extrovert random energy, he’s not like hating them or not liking hanging out with them. Kento-kun even once said ‘Mackenyu is kind of guy who seems energetic at some times and so quiet at some times, but once you get to know him, he is way more reserved and shy and I think I kinda find that side of him cute' (I don’t know whether if he really said all of them but I’m still sure Kento-kun talked about Mackenyu’s personality changes) In my perspective, he’s just trying his best to adjust to Hollywood’s entertainment industry to talk with Japanese culture is way too different from Hollywood so I just hope he finds his peace for always and be at ease, he’s a way too nice guy.
It's the opposite. He grew up in LA and moved to Japan at age 17-ish to get into the acting industry. But yeah, he's the kind of guy that's extroverted when he's put with introverted people, and he's introverted when he's with extroverted people. Japan's social norms probably didn't help either since when he first came to Japan a lot of people commented that it was overwhelming how he was loud and happy all the time. They're not trying to put him down for it, they were just saying it's a culture shock. I'm not making this up, there are a couple of interview clips vids from Mackenyu clips from 2016 - 2018 that have his costars comments on this behaviour but they are not all available on youtube and you need to download them to view. Here's Hirose Suzu and Nomura Shuhei commenting on how some things he does is strange to them like laughing loudly etc. even though it would be perfectly normal to see in other countries ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1t14qTWVBl0.html If you want all the available interview clips you can get it from the link in this Twitter post x.com/philazora/status/1441663394352807937?s=20
As a fellow Scorpio, I confirm that this is exactly how Scorpios are. There can be some differences between October born and November born. But that bombastic side eye of Mackenyu is definitely our theme.
I’m Scorpio and I act nothing like this, ppl I know who are Scorpio’s don’t act like this all these signs don’t determine how u act, stop being delusional
@@doopy_kun2397 people like you are the most annoying breed like do you have nothing better to do? you clicked on this video just to comment that? lmao
HIM SPEAKING IN ENGLISH IS A WHOLE MOOD ( i just love the way he speaks in english) I'm happy you showed Kento Yamazaki he is also my other fav. actor (they bring out the best in each other ^ ^ as they mentioned in the interview)
That's nice to know, as a Scorpio I have both their energy, I can be very extroverted and then introverted too depends on the situation or ppl. I'm an Omnivert!
bruh he is literally me in classroom settings like the rbf and i will not bother to laugh or react if it's not genuine LOL. his savagery is perfect lmao i'm so glad he clapped back with the anime questions it's so annoying when non-asian people ask you some really dumb race involved question lol
I MISS MACKENTO HUU I HOPE THEY WILL HAVE A PROJECT TOGETHER NOW THAT THEY'VE MADE A NAME FOR EACH OF THEMSELVES I'm so proud of what they achieved hnnng I just realized I shipped another Virgo and Scorpio huh
I would not want to judge Mackenyu negatively because I have observed in some public presentations his attitude that is not very tolerant of Iñaki's explosive character, but perhaps it is due to a cultural issue, I have observed the rest of the cast and they get along very well with each other, they make jokes, they laugh a lot, like Iñaki with Taz, but Mackenyu, on the contrary, is more reserved, but I repeat, it could be a cultural issue. I hope that all of them get along very well, because for many years, I have seen Many casts of beloved series dissolve. because the performers don't get along well with each other, and the truth is I really liked this series ...
Yes it's definitely cultural. Japanese are generally shy, typically very restrained socially and so respectful to the point of being a little bit rigid and adverse to big demostrations of personality. Plus they are often non physical people, so we cant see them kiss or hug a lot in public. The rest of the cast is generally western (and full of extroverts), its obvious they are getting along better. He is the embodiment of his culture, but I wouldn’t say he is bring uncomfortable, it's just the way he is.
I don't think there are any issues between iñaki and mackenyu, I think it's definitely a cultural thing but also mackenyu is a lot quieter and more introverted in general as well but from all their interactions I've never seen mackenyu not be happy to be there, he's just not as loud as the others and since literally all 4 other main cast mates are loud it the difference between them and mackenyu looks more drastic, but I think he balances the team well
I'm an introvert, the majority of my friends are super loud and energetic like Inaki and I flinch and frown and step away whenever they suddenly get loud near me. I love my friends, it's just my reflex as someone who would usually stay quiet in my room. It doesn't help that I have an rbf. I'm not annoyed, that's literally how my neutral face looks almost at all time. It's probably like that too with Mackenyu and Inaki
The thing is he's probably just jet lagged because he was on a flight from Tokyo to NY then Brazil. Also, he grew up in LA so it's not really a cultural issue mans just tired
I born the same day as one of my best friends, just one year apart, 15 November, and we are like Mackenyu and Kento, and sometimes too much like Mackenyu, we are literally 1 day and 6-7 years apart but we are such a scorpios 😭🤚
People are never satisfied. If you tell them of course you like x because youre from x country they get offended because youre stereotyping them so when you try to be more open minded and ask them if you like it they get offended because of course why wouldnt I like it? Im from x country! Give me a break! 🙄
I read some articles about him years back and it was so nasty!! This good looking dude has a bad reputation in Japan couple of years ago! It shocked me real bad! 😭 I used to like him but after reading those hilarious articles I was like ooohhhhh I guess he's not what we really think he is.. But whatever, as long as he's doing a great job in his roles then who cares right? There's no chance of meeting him in person or making friends w/ him so I guess what he is in real life won't bother me at all.. 😁 Still a fan of Zoro! ⚔️💚
Asian men are a lot more touchy-feely than Western men. Source: I lived in South Korea for a few years. Also quite obvious if you watch more Asian-made media (movies, tv shows, variety shows). Skinship is taboo between different sexes and can create ridiculously inflamed fan wars when it's celebs doing it (lots of offended looks and gasps if it's not celebs), but skinship between same sex is totally A-OK. Doesn't mean they're gay. That said, gay Asian men can totally pass off as just really good friends if they're not completely overt (such as kissing, rubbing against each other, etc.) and just do your ol' regular buddy skinship.
