I have not tried the solo cast microphone, but I would say the Mackie is probably better.

I bought the solocast and returned it and got this. The solocast is not a good microphone. It picks up every bit of background noise and sounds like a phone microphone. For the money go with the Mackie.

Hello Jason - unrelated to this video. I have a new anomaly in Resolve 17.4.6004. Dynamic Zoom is starting out in the center of the picture instead of the outside edge as it used to be. Is there some setting that may have changed?

That is, the frames for 'in' and 'out are much smaller in the center of the picture. This results in the picture not filling the frame until it's zoomed out most of the way.

Hi! Sounds like you just need to select the clip, go to the inspector, make sure dynamic zoom is turned on, then click the 'swap' button. That should change it for you. You can also adjust the boxes by selecting the dropdown icon at the lower left of the timeline viewer, and choosing Dynamic Zoom. Hope this helps!

@@JasonYadlovski Hi again, Jason. I discovered that this happens when Proxy Processing on the timeline is enabled. It was something different than the normal operation.

when I record it sounds quite low, I don't know if I MUST have the audio processor app to fix it, but that's annoying, I would have prefered to have a great sound regardless if it goes directly to the video app or any other app..

Hi! Here's some tips you can use if you are recording directly into resolve: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-My7uLayDoVE.html You can use the same tips, just increase input levels instead of drop input levels....

for 100$ that is a pretty sweet mic, great look and does the job. perfect for first time streamers, content creators for sure ;) wish they'd (all manufactures) would make a 3 arm stand, make it easier to put it any where and not have it get in the way.

It is pretty sweet, one of the best I’ve tried in the “budget” category. It really does sound good and does a great job of isolating outside noise so that it doesn’t end up in your recording.

I have one problem with this microphone, when I record my voice in adobe test or any program, my voice seems to go down and up which means I am getting close to and away at the same time from the microphone, by the way this is my first time using any microphone, I don't know what the problem is, Is it in the mic or in me, can you help me solve this problem

Sound like you might have an ‘auto gain’ setting selected in the software you are recording into. It’s adjusting the input levels automatically and constantly changing them. You want to use a manual setting so the input level is the same all time.

i got mine faulty i think. mine is SO quiet. ive im from a sitting distance thats normal, you cant hear me. also it messed up my speakers and it wont show the option of my speakers in the control panel. i can only use my speakers plugged into the mic itself.

You may have gotten a faulty microphone. I received two of them and they were both faulty, I had to send them back and they sent me new ones which worked perfectly. Definitely reach out to the company.

It's really sad that these monitor ports always have that background hiss. I've had the blue yeti a few years ago, and it had exactly the same issue. Presumably the USB power supply...

Interesting that your yeti had it too. I agree, they should really fix that issue on mics. Otherwise maybe don’t have the jack. I’ve got an original blue yeti and the headphone jack on that works great, no hiss.

@@JasonYadlovski I suspect blue's engineers knew about the issue and kept the gain on the monitor low to mask it. I started hearing it when routing the output through a mixing board for an experiment. I always was annoyed by the low levels on the port and that would explain the issue.

For the price range, that is a pretty cool mic - I fully agree with @L0rdCROISSANT 🤟. I've only got one small problem - how quick can I uproot my life, get into the USA, get a job, buy a house...I mean, I don't wanna miss out on the competition man 😫 #stillaproudirishman 🤣 Great review Jason (I admit I had a giggle when the boom arm shot out on you 🤣)

Thanks Gary! Yeah it's hard to do contests outside of the USA since most companies have separate division in USA vs other parts of the world. That arm shot out like that twice on me! I was like' you've got to be kidding me! haha. Just another day being a youtuber filming vids. 😜

It comes with pro tools? That’s industry standard professional software. It’s probably in every recording studio out there! Big in the music industry. Or is it like some downgraded or trial version?

Did you check the input settings on the computer as well as the input settings on your recording software?

That’s strange, it shouldn’t be clipping. What program are you recording into? If you are still unable to fix the microphone, you might want to reach out to the manufacturer in case there’s a defect.
