I literally have both. I don't use my Focusrite at home anymore after buying my ProFX. I do , however love how compact it is. I use it whenever I travel so I can record on the go
FYI It is possible to livestream with the Focusrite. So if you have one, you can plug the USB in your phone. But if livestreaming and live performance is your focus, and occasional computer recording, I’d definitely recommend the Mackie, like you said. The built in FX are nice to have for livestreams.
Just upgraded from a scarlett 2i2 to Mackie ProFX10v3, super excited. For recording music, Content Creation, and just doing wierd shit when gaming with people. Super good Vids man. Got a sub from me. Looking forward to achieving better audio quality in my vids when this mixer arrives. Looking forward to more vids from your channel as well.
Awesome video as usual, honestly speaking I have both but I generally use the Mackie more, however lately I have just sent the audio from my Scarlett to mix through the Mackie. Everyone can use these in different ways but they are both amazing pieces of audio equipment
Hello. Great video. Now I am searching for a new interface. I am recording voice, acoustic/electric guitar, writing electronic and hip-hop music, make arrangements, mixing, mastering. I can't decide what will suit for me more. Do you know, what is better off sound quality for recording(XLR, TS) and reproducing sound via headphones and monitors - Mackie ProFX10v3 or Motu m2? Is Mackie ProFX10v3 ok with 250 Ohm headphones? And what about latency? As I know motu m2 excellent. What about Mackie ProFX10v3? I really like functionality Mackie ProFX10v3 but afraid, that sound quality will be less than motu2. Also Audient Id14 looks interesting. Please, help me.

Just picked up the mackie profx10v3 to replace my old audio interface- running everything on my macbook pro and im having trouble sending audio out to both my monitor speakers and PA speakers... Only able to get the audio signal to come through 'control room' out, any tips to also get the signal to send through 'main out'? Thank you!
I would recommend using something like VLC for playback. If you want USB signal to come from your computer and out your Stereo (XLR) outputs, you really want them to come into the board with USB 3-4 into channels 9/10. In order to do that, you'll either need a DAW or something like VLC that will allow you to specify that you want to use output 3-4 for playback into your audio mixer. I haven't tested this specifically with VLC, but having used it in the past with a similar setup I've had it work well for me. Does that make sense? Your MacBook must send through output 3-4 and you'll bring it into channels 9/10 on your mixer.

How do you compare the Mackie PROFX16V3 vs YAMAHA MG16XU. Which one is better & why? Im trying form a band with4 or 5 members (2 guitars, bass, keyboard & possibly a saxophone) & about 4 vocalist (4 mics) for 1 event a month. Audio recordings & live streaming a must. No multitasking at all. I'd like to run everything through the mix console.

I like to use 2 keyboard 🎹 only to get good sounds out of 1 studiomonitors , witch one is right for me , i’m not sure if I can connect 2 keyboard into Scarlett, please let me know .thank you
I have the mackie profx12v3 and the Scarlett 18i8. Love the mackie. But sometimes I would like to multitrack more then 2 tracks at a time. The Scarlett has a horrible hum in it. Sounds like a grounding issue. But. Its all running off the same power cleaner. I am running on a pc. Cannot figure it out. Been struggling with it for over a year lol. When I saw this video I just thought I might ask someone again;)
Can I abandon my focusrite and only use the Mackie PROFX12v3 as my interface? I can record into my DAW the Mackie I just can't hear the other tracks while I'm recording(full duplex).

The preamps are in the same neighbourhood and both devices are 24bit/192kHz. Yes. I think they are very comparable. It mostly depends on if you want small size/portability/software based editing on the Scarlett or if you want a larger device with mute buttons, many inputs, etc.

Good video, how come you didn't do the more comparable in size and cost, Mackie ProFX6v3 6-channel Mixer with USB and Effects? It seems more comparable to me...is it also good function wise to what you said about the FX10 except with less channels? Is that the main difference between the FX6 and FX10?

The only negative feedback you hear about audio mixers has to do with a misunderstanding on how gain is calculated. On the Scarlett 2i2, you want to set the gain so it peaks at -12dB in your DAW. On an audio mixer, there is a 12dB offset due to it being used for analog as well. People don't realize this and only set the gain to -12dB on the mixer, which translates to -24dB on their computer - so they complain. If you use an audio mixer like the ProFX10v3, you must set your gain to peak at 0dB on the mixer and you will be good. The Mackie preamps are more powerful with the same noise. If you're concerned about quality, go with the Mackie.
What I'm looking for is mainly just home recording - but I want to be able to leave different things plugged in at all times so I can just chose an instrument or mic and start recording - I have actually purchase both of these two items for that reason - I'm only recording one thing at a time (vocal mic, guitar amp, bass amp DI, synth) but just know I'll be more productive when I have everything set up - do you think it's overkill to have the Mackie? I'm not sure.
What you've described is exactly what I would do in your situation. When I have an idea, I don't want to be messing around, I want to record it as fast as possible. If you have the desk space, the convenience of having everything plugged in and ready is worth using the bigger mixer. Plus the Focusrite doesn't have a blend knob and the Mackie does, which I prefer.

@@casey17w You would need to connect your monitor to the FX send. The FX send can work as an aux output if you're not using the effects. If you want to keep using effects while having independent control over your monitor, you may need to bump up to the ProFX12.
How quiet are the mic preamps on Mackie ProFx6x3 and its series compared to audio interfaces like the Focusrite and Audient Evo? I can't decide between getting the Mackie ProFx6v3 or the Audient Evo
So....I was using a Scarlett Solo but today I bought a ProFX10v3. What I'm wondering is if it makes sense to run this mixer through the Scarlett Solo? Obviously the mixer has built in interface but would I benefit in any way by choosing to use the Scarlett interface instead of the Mackie integrated?
No. As a general rule, every additional piece of equipment will add more noise to your recording. Less equipment = less points of failure. Unless you have a very specific reason (coloration from a tube preamp, or something similar), less is more.
I have a question. how do I set the mackie up to NOT hear my mic on the speakers but send it to to the laptop. but I want to hear everything from my laptop like during a Skype call. (no recording at all just live working environment)
How good does the audio sound going USB out to PC w/the Mackie? It's got a bad rep for how the USB audio sounds, but it;s hard as heck to find any vids to actually judge for yourself.
It sounds great to me. The Mackie and Focusrite are both 24 bit / 192k. It seems like most people suffer from quality issues related to proper gain setup.
I have a mackie profx10v3 and want to use it for a podcast and livestreaming can I use the usb connection on the mackie and do a mix minus setup. I want to broadcast my mic and inputs from other channels but I don't want the guest or caller voice going back into the computer.

Hi Jordan, Is the Mackie 10v3 mixer good to use in live singing and music using Zoom conference application? I have scarlett 2i2 however I can't add reverb when singing for the group in zoom application.
