Can it be paired or bundled for a stereo rig? I don't think I would consider buying it at that price tag unless it was a two speaker system w two stands and an XLR cable to connect them. Esp since I can get full PA systems for nearly half that as bundles today!
@Marthins1 Honestly It would kill as a stereo setup w a possible sub out. Thats what I like about the bigger Presonus Monitors. They aren't a PA unfortunately.
Saw this and liked the concept with the five channels and the detachable mixer and ordered it on the spot. But... oh what a disappointing experience. Really Mackie? What were you thinking? The onboard effects sound cheap and tinny like those crappy digital multieffects from the 1990ies. I don't need seventeen different reverb-algorithms, only one is enough if it doesn't sound tinny (a chorus is no rocket sience either BTW). But he most diasppointing thing is that the the speaker itself sounds weird. As soon as you leave your livingroom and low volumes behind things get really bad. This was the first small PA that managed to made my masterbuilt acoustics sound bad. I have no Idea (and I don't want to know) what marvels you worked with the frequency response but somehow you created a speaker that lacks punch in the midrange while sounding boxy at the same time. You rate this thing at 400 watts but deliver less headroom than a 60W Fishman or the compacts by JBL or Bose. I really wanted to like the Showbox for its features (mainly the five channels) and nice details (like brightening the LEDs in outdoor mode) but after three days of trying to get a decent sound from it I gave up and sent it back to Thomann.
I have an iPhone 12. I know I’d need to find special cables but my question is: What sort of app would I need to use? I come in with the USB C into adaptor and then into my phone but what app would I use? Is there an app especially for the Showbox? Can I use the stock voice memo app? Do I use GarageBand? I want to go busking and record video with my phone and bring in audio but can’t find anything online about which iPhone app to use to capture the audio with from the showbox. Please help. Thank you.
@@benjaminmetz5845 Yes and no. I never heard if there was mackie showbox specific app. I ended up experimenting. I find it works with any app. I’ve tried it with garage band, or my camera app when recording video, and I think it worked( can’t remember) through my RODE Reporter app. I plug the usb c cable out of the showbox to my phone to record. I have an iPhone 15 pro so for me it’s usb c to usb c. I also have an older iPhone with a lightning port. I bought a usb c to lighting tip adaptor to go from showbox (usb c) to my iPhone 12 (lighting port). Hope that helps.
