I'm a veteran of going to the Island--booked for a few nights coming up in June--but its still a fun video to watch. I'm glad I live in the U.P. because I have many more opportunities to go to the Island than most people do. Well done on this video! (SteveO)
I was up late taking my dogs out n hadn't watched tv in awhile at 130am. I put it on and what's on Eriik the Travel Guy about Makinac Island! So very very interesting! It was so great this historic island is alive n well. I had several of my ancestors fight in the War of 1812. From Battle of Lake Erie to the Battle of Plattsburgh. Gotta go n check out this jewel!
Thanks, Mike! I enjoyed making that episode! Since you were so specific with your scene-setting...I am reading your kind words at 8:53pm CT. I am at a restaurant in Minneapolis before I return home tomorrow. I ordered the chicken with asparagus! Again, thank you for the kind words.
@@Erikthetravelguy You need to do a documentary of Plattsburgh, NY right on Lake Champlain. I've been there for 200 anniversary for the Battle of Plattsburgh. Nice quaint town n nice drive on Lake Shore Drive n historical markers where the British marched. Oh yes the old AF base, 1 of only two places FB111 flew out of in the US.
@@mikedunham8481 My 4th great-grandfather fought in the War of 1812. His father was an officer in the American Revolution, and his grandfather was in the French and Indian War.
Fuck the Lamprey were still a big deal in 2003 when I caught a fish in Lake Superior that had giant suction holes on it and one still attached to the top of its back! But yeah just give them more food lol. Poor DNR, their job is really tough.
