Hey, since there are no gay references in the song (referring to homosexuality), I took out the second verse and got it removed, I made myself a clean version of the song because I don't want to use the G-word anymore when it's considered inappropriate (which is "gay" of course), I mean we don't have to call it that word if it makes you uncomfortable. We call it "Macklemore's happy time." I had to keep it clean. And by clean, we mean censored. But there are certain lyrics that contain offensive material. Why? Let's recap. I only missed a few lines on the verses like... "If I was gay, I would think hip hop hates me. Have you read the RU-vid comments lately?" "When I was in church, they taught me something else." "No freedom till we're equal. Damn right, I support it."
Oh, and by the way, I took out the word "gay" and replaced the word "gay" with "fake." I also got rid of the second verse (due to gay-related content) just to make it developmentally suitable. And that's what I do. I'm not sure what, but let's just say it's radio-friendly and we can keep it a secret, all right? Big surprise.
