This is surprising. Although I don't think I'll be getting one because according to my research they are 10x7 and that's larger than I'm looking for, you have to applaud Thomas Nelson for always coming out with new stuff. I think this is obviously an attempt at a more affordable alternative to the Cambridge Topaz, and apparently more stuff in this range is coming in just a few months. I just want to see the details on this video of the page layout.

I think I might get the compact one. The 7 pt font doesn't bother me. I'm just a little turned off that although it is a nice bible, there's not really any features. No maps, no reading plan, no concordance or dictionary. There's ribbon markers and blank pages for notes. The price seems high to me because of this, especially for a leathersoft cover.

Bought the leathersoft for a rebind. I'd say I'm pretty happy with that choice as the block looks identical. Good review.

I hope the NKJV will put out that black goatskin. I saw they were doing a brown genuine leather with hubs...and hopefully, edge lined. Is the brown leather soft one, paper lined or fake leather? Thx! I’ve been checking a lot for this one. I’m sending my widemargin back. Not great for the type of extensive notes that I take. I’ve been using the Hank Hanegraaff NKJV double column, double margins, end vs. refs. It’s GREAT for notes! Thanks again, and YAY Thomas Nelson. Text not exact page nation as Preaching Bible. 🙏🏻👍🤗

I need your advice! My husband is deployed and I have two premier bibles myself and wanted to get him one as well to surprise him while overseas! He likes NKJV and red letter. What would be your recommendation???

That’s actually one of the ones I have and I LOVE! It’s a little bigger than what he wants. I went back and watched more of your videos and I think he’ll like the Cambridge Topaz in dark green - he loves army green 😉! It has the main things he wants with the red letter and such. Thanks so much for your awesome reviews!!

Every review is different, but I usually keep them or use them for giveaways. Some publishers send me free review copies, others offer discount, and in a lot of cases I purchase the Bibles.

My copy of this arrived today (KJV, goatskin). As I mentioned elsewhere, I was surprised to see that it did not come wrapped in paper (like the Nelson Premier series), nor does it come with any type of insert (like those little postcard-type inserts) talking about the Bible. More concerning, my copy does not have that wonderful leather smell (like those Premiers do, or the premier ESV preaching bible), or even the Handcrafted Holmans. This one has a rather harsh, almost chemical smell, which I'm assuming is related to what they used to treat the leather. It's harsh, almost headache-inducing as I have it laying here next to me as I type this. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or heard of similar experiences.

@@timwildsmith - Glad to hear it. I reached out to another reviewer on here who confirmed the odor, stating it does go away. Eventually. In the interim, it really is noxious.

Lol nothing wrong with being a bible "sniffer/smeller" ... In fact that is supposed to be very much part of being a leather covered bible owner.. Now if only TN would come out with this EXACT layout of the NKJV in a size 5 by 7.5/8 and include a good sized concordance
