I appreciate you do videos for new macOS updates. For me, macOS is more important to iOS because that's the OS I use the most so I like to know whats really new and what's change in new versions.
^yeah I agree. I like to watch iOS update videos but Mac is my main interest. On the other hand I understand how har it is to search through the software for changes.
@@arkadiusz6688 yeah I like iOS videos as well and ai understand it’s more popular but I appreciate this channel give some love to the Mac as well. I use my phone and iPad slot but like you my Mac is my main device.
Apple like always, with the stupidest and most useless updates, no updates for real uses, like give screen recording the ability to save in mo4, give users the ability to do overlays on the desktop screen, instead of the same stupid wallpaper, why not give the ability to turn the wallpaper into an overlay, all they have to do is modify the layers position of the wallpaper, give more flexibility for recording screen, like green screen or chromakey effects, but no, just more useless updates.
Pls let Apple know that this update is giving some users trouble with dictation and that microphones work normally and everything but when using it speech to text and then when being sent to Apple servers there is some kind of issue where it won’t work and does not work as normal (intel based Macs)
I updated my M1 MacBook Air. It great to see the see the many security patches and bug fixes, however the one annoying bug that was introduced with macOS Sonoma 14.0 is still not fixed and that is the crashing of macOS whenever a video is played back using QuickTime while an external display is attached and connected in "Mirrored" mode. Currently the only way to prevent the crash from occurring is to make sure that the external display is in "Extended" mode or to use a third party video player. This issue does not occur on macOS Ventura.
FaceTime Reactions aren't disabled by default, iOS 17.4/macOS 14.4 instead includes a new API that gives developers the option to disable Reactions by default. So example, Zoom could disable it by default
I would like to get my iphone and ipad battery % on the mac bat widget natively, i dont want to spend 15 bucks on an app just for that. Thanks for the info Brandon!
Really thanks for two nice thinks: 1) Information about Business related stuff 2) Information about local German features. I enjoy your videos and newsletter.
Great overview, thanks for making it despite being less popular than iOS. Updating now, hoping they fixed the issue with desktop widgets colors wrong after switching desktops. 🤞
Don’t hold your breath! They’re like Adobe now, adding silly “features” while ignoring the bugs they introduced a year (or more) ago. And yes, I’ve reported each one, even called Apple tech support, whose only “advice” was a full reset reinstall.
3:13 Yeah, that's unfortunate. I think they should have implemented it similar to the Music app on macOS where you can click on the lyric button and it would follow along with the music. In this case the transcript.
Screen waking up repeatedly while lid is open. Did anyone have this issue? Has it been solved in 14.4? I'm basically forced now to close the lid otherwise my Apple Watch will unlock it and waste battery. During 15 minutes the screen wakes at least 6-7 times, resulting in a battery loss of 5%.
It seems that Apple has lost its ideas for developing its macOS operating system. They have fallen far behind Microsoft Windows in every update, as Microsoft innovates so rapidly.
Thanks for a great video. Sonoma was released too soon and the bugs are slowly being worked out. The worst native app is still “numbers”, which crashes once a week for me on a MacBook Air M2. This bug is a carryover from Ventura and remains so largely because it is sporadic. It is characterised by text suddenly going from right to left Russian style as you type into a cell, the file save ceases to work and of course you can only force a quit and loose your data.
This update has sped up web browsing in Safari even further and now my iMac M3 hits my highest score yet achieved on browserbench speedometer test. Now gets 658 which is insane!
Hey do you have problems with the video recording etc where it goes a little blurry when you move around? And if so did the update sort it out? thanks 👍
I'm on an M1 Macbook Pro and ever since I upgraded to 14.3 Apple Music is broken I can't play certain songs and for some reason, some of my playlists never synced from my iPhone properly and don't have all of my songs, and I've had to re-add songs to my library, I've tried rebooting and signing out of apple music and logging back in and nothing changed. I'm afraid to upgrade to 14.4
Hopefully in the next 20 yrs they will implement the ability to set-up scrolling and acceleration individually per trackpad and mouse. Im puzzled by this nonsense approach they’ve always had.
after I updated to sonoma 14.3 the battery life on my M1 macbook pro 14 suffered horrendously.... and it never truly sleeps . hope this update fixes the issue
Hi Brandon. You should be aware that I had a major issue when I upgraded to this latest version on my Mac Studio. After the update, I found my keyboard and mouse no longer worked. At first I thought it was the o/s somehow breaking Logitech products but when I looked closer, I found that everything connected to the hub the dongles were connected to which also included my Time Machine backup hard drive, were no longer working. It was completely dead. The update broke the connection and because of this, I could not login at all. Thankfully I did about 5 restarts and it magically came back so it wasn’t a huge deal in the end but thought you and your followers should know about this.
Best fix for me is the letter-boxing bug on safari when watching videos in the aspect ratio that Brandon uses. It would push the video down and have double black bar at the top. I’d have to always put it in and out of mini player to fix it until adverts play
