Cotton: I really wanna know what the other starter turned into because if it's also a large humanoid creature, then this is a weird set of starters... So should we tell him or let him see for himself? xD

How have I never realized that Hop has hopping based moves on his Pokemon? That's actually a little clever. Also, I love the contrast between your "Shall be missed" vs Team Four Star's "Shall NOT be missed". I personally like yours better. Hope you guys are having as much as I am with this Nuzlocke. ❤️
The story isn't that badly set up, if you've been paying attention, they're just not treating a ten year old like they could defeat evil when there're trainers like the Champion in the region. We know Bede has been single mindedly after the wishing stars for the Chairman, which affect Dynamax, and have confirmation now that's what they've been doing behind the scenes. We know something's been happening beneath Hammerlocke, where the chairman's power plant is, because Pokemon in that area are Dynamaxing without warning. And we have the subplot of the Darkest Day through Sonia's research where there was a terrible catastrophe long ago, in which the sky went dark and a red light appeared. Which sounds a lot like Dynamax. Now lets see how it all intersects...
2:14 -290 Degrees Fahrenheit (which is more or less -179 degrees Celsius)!? That's around the temperature OF THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, IN THE COLD DARKNESS OF SPACE!
Every single time you use a super effective move on Hop, he acknowledges it. You can't convince me that isn't a bug. It feels like that was supposed to happen once, but they accidentally left it in all Hop battles.
3:41 Well the staff member next to it does say they trained it to speak & if you read the Sword Pokedex entry on Honedge it says- "Honedge's soul once belonged to a person who was killed a long time ago by the sword that makes up Honedge's body."
So that double Swagger you got during the battle with Marnie? I accidentally gave Oleana a similar buff because I tried to debuff her Milotic not knowing it was Competitive, so she promptly Surfed half my team off the field. Fortunately, my team universally outsped her so I was able to take it out, but DAMN that could have cost me the whole battle. PS: Hop's uniform number (189) is the Pokedex number for Jumpluff. Yours (269) is Beautifly.
They really dumbed down the difficulty on this generation. The rival picks a starter weak to yours. The first two routes give you enough types to build a team early game that can sweep gyms with very little grinding. The AI seems to have been lobotomized. Dynamax raids in the wild area give you enough XP boosters that you don't have to grind after that point. You don't need to find HMs to progress through areas anymore. You get access to flying quick travel very early on. You can box swap anywhere. And I'm sure there's more I missed. Some of these are welcome ease of use things, but all of it stacked together kind of make it feel like you can disengage your brain and play the game while half asleep at some points.
It's not common. Not too many Pokemon naturally learn 1 hit ko moves (with a number of them being legendaries at that), and for most of the ones that do, it's one of the last moves they learn, so the chances of it happening are definitely low.
@@dreadnought-sz7tn That's not true. Yes, the stories have never been super amazing or anything and even at best they've been hardly good. However they've never been this bad. Nothing about the core story in this game makes sense, the villain motive is totally nonsensical. Eternatus is basically an asspull and a plot device that purely exists for there to be some big baddie at the end, it's really pathetic. Moreover the characters make really stupid decisions constantly and the way the story is presented is just crap. The dialogue is boring and irrelevant and the visual representation of it is just laughable. It literally feels like the pixel models in the old games were more expressive and living than these clumsy 3D models ever are. The pokemon game peak was in gen 5 and ever since 6th gen it has just gone downhill. It really feels like they're not even trying anymore.
Thraben Innistrad I liked the idea and design of Eternatus but yea, the ‘problem’ to be solved was just “I, the chairman, wish to bring apocalypse to save everyon- oh, you beat my team, okay I’ll turn my self in, oh could you stop Eternatus too please? K bye”
You are all invited to my channel and while my LEGO City isn't like Jang it is worth while. Glad to have discovered this channel and I hope people like you and all who see this have a good remaining 2019 and beyond.
I love how josh and cotton were expecting an actual story from a children's game now keep in mind I do enjoy the game by a decent amount but my expectations for the game weren't all that high to begin with.
This one is easily one of the weakest in the series though, even compared to the original red and blue which had near zero story. Since then we've had some really interesting and good stories to compare it with like the clash between truth and ideals in gen 5 and the character dynamics of gen 7.
@@chilzer5612 in my personal opinion the manga for the pokemon franchise is the best when it comes to the overall story especially when you see that people and their pokemon can and will die in these battles.
@@dreadnought-sz7tn You're absolutely not wrong; I just wanted a more 'apples to apples' comparison, game vs game as opposed to the manga (or anime for that matter) where they don't have to worry about gameplay and can focus purely on story and characters
