Does macular degeneration affect both eyes? I have neovascular macular degeneration in one eye, it’s been coming on for 13 yrs I’m 47 and worried for my other eye

It can affect one or both eyes, but typically AMD is not identical in both eyes. You could have dry AMD in one, and wet AMD in the other, or AMD in only one eye, etc. The best thing you can do to preserve your vision and potentially slow progression is to make as many healthy lifestyle changes as you can. Wear sunglasses every day, eat well (the mediterranean diet is a good start), take a supplement formulated for AMD, quit smoking if you smoke, exercise, etc. There's lots of information on our website, and we also have a cooking show series here on our RU-vid channel.
