It is really sad that Macy felt she needed to clarify anything. In her interview with Piers she quite plainly stated that she does and will respect people's gender identities but that surgically altering your genitalia does not mean that someone would have the lived experience of a naturally born female growing into womanhood, which is fair. There are also certain innate biological differences that cannot easily be ignored, such is the case with sports. Currently the issue seems to mainly be within women's sports and one can only presume that it is not a larger issue in men's sports because it is not feasible for trans men to have a competitive advantage over naturally born males. The same is not true for transwomen competing against naturally born females. Facts are facts and fair is fair.
