Here's hoping for another album from Cobra. His last two [Snypa Way and Helta Skelta] were some of the finest Dancehall has ever produced imo. 1 of the greatest deejays ever to do it.....
Big up mad cobra, I've always respected this veteran in the space. I wish he would stand up and help retake the space. I respected how he didn't use violence as a tool to fix his problems, big points for that. Keep doing your thing me general, who God bless, no man curse 💯💯💯💯.
Mad Cobra is a good old skool. When this new type of dance-hall reggae cross over started, Ninja man was getting tired in the game,Shabba was on top and new talent starting to arise Mad Cobra was up there, He had the same voice pattern of ninja man but with more charisma more energy, just like Sean Pauls voice has more studio energy to super cats voice, well back in the day when Ninja man was on the mic he made bad man lyrics amusing,not 2 corrupt a person so they would actually believe in the hype and go and a mad spree, but the word is powerful you can write or voice pree a thought and talk it and it come back bite u. When Buju Banton did boom bi bi people took it as bum bye bye and reacted to it world wide in Dance-hall. When the truth is been spoken you have ears to hear on a topic voiced on a riddim u can relate with or not the MC tries to deliver music in a format that involves you "say fire bun" crowd react with in the concept of the topic and if what was heard if it wasn't appropriate you would hear boohoos its story telling a vitalization in the mind of badness in a poetic form like Hollywood gangster movies its only acting. If u relate to a movie like Scarface Shottas and want to live that life its either you be killed or end up in jail. I remember going back a few years now when i went to watch a Kung Fu movie at school off of a projector and as the movie finish everyone turn kung fu master pure joke but it was just fun. Jamaica needs clean up yes, so gwan move with the times or get left behind. Jamaica needs change and its coming through TECHNOLOGY science not obeah. People born in Jamaica go foreign for what ever reason and hear about the crime rate and constant killing going on. Born Jamaicans are afraid to go back home, its not about puss and dawg, I just don't want to lose my life careless. Jamaica IS not was a Christ like country with our own independence where a person is accountable for his / her own of action, say no more! We all seek progress in life but i pose a question, sentence has been passed now, so can we blame the lyrical contents from Kartel as to why he his been painted as bad influence and talent that has gone to waste. Talent stands out for its self and if the lyrical skills were not on point would he have such success and a massive impact with fans in dance-hall. Remember there's a difference between dance-hall and that sweet reggae music that comes out of Jamaica that is known world wide, but 35 years before parole, is that an escape goat or what, to remove the best lyricist in dance-hall off the throne who not even really seen the glory of his empire to the fullest. Dem draw him out, and trouble, trouble trouble and trouble find him, but over 2 shoes though. Thief from thief make god laugh but its the smart phone that did it .... I would never rejoice in a persons dismay, their is no smoke with out fire and if it was my family that has gone missing and upon hearing the evidence, I would want justice. I am just glad its not me!! The big picture in my own personal opinion its so the youth have a future, as in growing the next generation of Jamaican youths to be smart at school so they can make a difference to society, doctors, inventors and have a say and a role in building Jamaica society and not to glorify in badness. If you work hard studying, sky is the limit, so if Jamaican system is cleaning up its act so citizens can so trust in the law and the code of practice, not the shoot first ask question after, they have a lot of back logging to do and sacking. The law is the law so police can go on trial too and not buy out the case. I vision a Jamaica, where the 14 parishes have cameras every where you turn, its just a matter of time ....no disrespect to the deceased family.
