Mad Max 2021 Review | New Player Review | Is Mad Max Worth Playing in 2021

This game is one of the last gems made without monetization. A true example of a well put together, heavily underrated game.

Really hope they do a sequel or another game in this franchise. This game really went under the radar and that's unfortunate.

Got it a few weeks ago and loving it the sound of that engine it's just amazing .really underrated it's a great game

Imagine an open world multiplayer madmax game. Where you can encounter random people to trade with or forge alliances. You can be a raider who goes and blows up other people's cars and bases or something like a trader. The possibilities are endless. Would be super cool

I have beaten this game 5 times. Twice without armor, or knuckles equippes. And my final playthrough, no upgrades or armor and a single shot pipe gun. It was great.

Currently playing through it and GD, this game has some of the most satisfying sound design. Visiting all locations and collecting kind of feels tedious but it’s worth it for the upgrades. Wish I’d given this game more of a chance years ago.

I played it again summer 2020. So unless something absolutely devastating has changed the game in some patch/update, that I haven't heard about, then Mad Max is still absolutely worth playing in 2021. Fantastic Mad Max game, really fun open world car-oriented game, and just under-rated in almost every single aspect.

The combat feels so visceral and impactful. Both melee and car. It's brutal without relying on gore to get it there. They really nailed it.

I just finished this game. I can't believe there's no new game plus mode. What a shame. It took til the end to fully upgrade everything. Now that my character's a badass, there's nothing to do.

I just finished it yesterday ,the story progression isn't the greatest and the top dogs have all same fight mechanics ,but it was very fun to be honest.I loved the cars with all the spikes and customization , post apocalyptic environment it's just is amazing.if you like cars or are into the mad max franchise ,it's a good play .

Watching the movie again after 6 years made me remember this game. Bought it, and couldn't have been more pleased. I'm enthralled by the world. The visual story telling in this universe is top notch.

Man thank you for this. I have been staring at this in my games to play folder for months now, but just would never pull the trigger on it. Definitely gonna give it a go now.

Even though Metal Gear Solid received much higher scores than Mad Max... the game I still want to play and remember is Mad Max... NOT Metal Gear Solid.

Great commentary. I'd add the one thing I didn't like is that it sometimes felt a producer went overboard on trying to tie in the game to the movie, so much so that I thought I was back in the 80s...but all in all, I loved this game.

My total gameplay time is 121 hrs, I have a hectic Job and have to take care of a kid. This shows how great game it is as I finished it for the second time winning All achievements (minus one), one of the best games ever. The only sad part is WB servers are offline, you can unlock all achievements barring one which is WB servers dependent !

Can't believe I barley found out about this game, been grinding hard these past 3 days lol. Cars are sick, movements, combos . All in all 10/10 game for reals! Please make a second part to this game!!!!

Hugely underrated game. I had this game in my backlog but what pushed me to play it was some of the achievements were going to be unattainable because WB was turning off the servers related to the scrap crews. What a shame I waited so long turned out to be one of my favourites last gen. I completed every challenge and achievement. If you beat this game and want more of the same except first person play Rage 2. I got the same vibe and it is also developed by Avalanche Studios.

I have purchased this gem twice…the Steam version (DRM kills FPS and runs heavy) and GOG (doesn’t even get my laptop warm on Ultra) because it’s so damn good. The graphics are still pretty awesome, the sound is stellar, and the combat is close to the Arkham games. That’s a really good thing. I love driving around the Great White looking for Scrap and trouble. There is a good bit to do and collect in the game, don’t think it’s a straight cheap action game copying the movie. They took the Mad Max lore and told a great story, while adding characters and things here and there. This is one criminally underrated game and I want a sequel so badly. I didn’t love Thunderdome movie so much, but imagine it adapted into the video game. It would be so fun. The driving is surprisingly good and that speaks volumes considering you spend 99% of your time driving on sand. And 75% of that is evasive balls to the wall car combat. The game takes place at the bottom of the ocean after all. I believe game reviews should be honest, not subjected to constant childish rants/reviews and fans feeling obligated to give them perfect scores to balance out the shitty scores just so we, the gamers that appreciate the game(s) might hope to see future updates, DLC, and possibly even a sequel. I have to give Mad Max for PC a 4.5/5. I HIGHLY recommend Mad Max for fans of racing games, Arkham series fans, Assassins Creed fans, RPG lovers, vehicle enthusiasts, and OCD 100% completion gamers. By the time the prologue ends and you get your first car upgrade you’ll be hooked. There are tons of upgrades and skills for Max and his car. Every upgrade is visible on Max and the Magnum Opus (Max’s new car, which replaces the Black on Black), and there are mighty convoys on steady routes that you can try to take down for the leader’s hood ornament which further increases the Magnum Opus’ stats. There is a very decent amount of combat skills and moves to master, and the combat feels bone crunchingly satisfying. I love Max’s Knuckle Dusters, especially the visible changes they (and all your clothes) get when upgrading. Everything is upgraded with Scrap you find and earn from capturing Camps (Strongholds) as long as Max is at the proper Legend level which’s always going up through your actions, kicking the shit out of Scrotus’ men, and the in game challenges. I could keep going on about this damn game, but I want you to feel the way I did when I realized how fucking amazing Mad Max really is. You are living the movie and making your own adventure. Also, it’s very brutal and gruesome at times, so be prepared for a little gore because Scabrous Scrotus’ War Dogs LOVE stringing up dead Wastelanders everywhere in their sickening “Scarecrows”…you’ll see them a lot because you pull them down with the Magnum Opus to lower the Threat Level in that region slightly. Just a heads up for your young ones. Sorry for the walk of text. I really wanted to share my love for this underrated, already forgotten gem. Don’t forget to fill your canteen full with water and take a full can of gas everywhere you go. I will find the Plains of Silence…🤘🏻❤️

Funny I just completed this game a month ago and had a lot of fun playing through it. Admittedly it would've been a tighter experience if it was a lot shorter (perhaps 2 or 3 regions instead of 5), but the exploration and car combat were engaging enough to keep me going to 100%. It's also one of the most beautiful games of this gen in terms of environments despite the fact that the regions are all deserts they're varied enough to be distinct from one another. Highly recommend if you enjoy open world action!

Mad Max as opposed to Rage2, Just Cause and other titles of the company - actually has SOUL in it. I find myself beating it many times never growing tired of it. The really good story and this dedication that the devs invested into it...I just don't understand why people didn't notice that and the game did not do much better than it did. Are people so superficial? Maybe lack of promotion? It is a real shame that the audience somehow prefers pointless sandboxes and shooters with donation system rather than this almost cinematographic experience, which to me personally is even better than Mad Max the movie.

Whats odd is i just booted it up on pc and a couple hours in i said to myself this feels/looks a little like mgsV while running on foot. So neat hearing you mention it actually came out not just in the same time frame but the exact day.

Waiting for the sequel, the best Post apocaliptic game i played. This got to have an update. Like what happend to the sailing ship of pink eye, where did all the water went, did it all froze in the north and south pole? And where is the plain of silence? Did Max's family survived? Too many q to be answered

Played this game in 2016 on my trip to Algeria, got it very cheap and enjoyed playing it on PC it is a difficult game though so never went that far into the story

A couple of days ago i launched the game after 3 years without playing it and a 32gb update popped out 😖

Its still worth doing it today im on my second playthrough but im maxed on all things from the 1st and 2nd stronghold but mainly maxed up on rank and max's upgrades off the 2nd stronghold im just now in the 3 rd keeping myself from ruining it for ppl

Going to insert this game soon in my ps5 to play It again after al those years. Playing shadow of mordor at the moment wich is done by the same studio. And i love it. Amazing combat.

Glitched only happened near Gas Town. There is this mini quest that he is a fan of Chumbucket. I went back to him again but he's gone, but the marker still appears that he is there. Now I can't progress further to the story, now I'll have to restart the game from zero. Still enjoy even i restart it, but I do hope that glitch won't appear again when I go back there. It's the only way to progress to the main story.
