Fury Road is the perfect action movie. No pointless dialog, amazing spectacles, compelling movement from one scene to next, awesome stunt work, and of course the ridiculously magnificent soundtrack.
It's also crazy how in the first time you watch the film - you feel breathless and tired. Every moment of screen-time becoming evermore exhilarating and suspenseful. Oh what a film...WHAT A LOVELY FILM!
Brendan Ellis It is the movie that absolutly requires multiple viewing as its impossibile to graps all of the details cramped into every single shot. I manged to find new details even after 5 times. Incredible piece of movie making, really a bible in visual story telling, and it will get very very good with age.
@@drazenbudis7881 Yeah me too. I noticed a lot of stuff that I couldn't see the first time because the movie is honestly overwhelming. Great movie, and what I love about is that is easy to rewatch
I still remember seeing it, and how I reacted to most scenes. It truly was a life-changing movie, and nothing has matched it since. Not even Endgame (well, maybe Infinity War haha).
I didn't see it in cinema either but I managed to get the next best thing. I watched it on the 'Big Screen' app in 3D on my VR headset. It's by far the best 3D movie I have ever seen.
The progression of this song is pretty dope. As if in the beginning the protagonist is fighting fighting fighting a battle then at 3:00 they've broken free and won the battle. But the fight isn't completely over and they continue the journey. This feels a lot like a piece from Hans Zimmer.
When you first start it can be a bit meandering. The first 5 or so hours of the game has the same issue Assassins Creed games have now days. So many points on the map of interest that you have to do. You start the game with a gang stealing your car so you have to spend the early hours making a new one and gather parts. Once you get past those 5 or so hours its really fun. your car can actually handle encounters, the driving gets better, you unlock more take-downs for hand-to-hand and vehicular combat and your wrench monkey is riding in the back at all times like your hype man and keeps gameplay fun and interesting. I'm only half way through it and still have SO MUCH to do. If i had to grade it, i would give it a STRONG "8 out of 10". Its not perfect, it can be grindy at times, but when it finds that sweet spot, its VERY FUN! I would say pick it up on sale. I got mine for 5$ on steam around Christmas time. If i had to I would totally buy it again.
This scene still tears me up nine years later, the moment where the bikes are jumping over the rig and the music at 2:40. It's beautiful in a way action isn't supposed to be. Didn't expect much of the movie and didn't follow any pre-release promotion. Mad Max without Gibson and all. New Hollywood doing another action blockbuster. Then went to see it thrice. I'm glad I did.
You are goddamn right. It wasnt even nominated. Like hell no. 6 oscars are still 6 oscars tho. True fans realize greatness and where is the road to Goosebumbs city. Witness it !
The oscars have become a political joke. What matters is that you know it’s the best. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise. If it’s means something to you, then it’s important
I worked fast so I could leave work and catch the 10pm IMAX 3D showing. It was awesome! I think my top 3 theater movies are IMAX Avatar, This, and 300.
This movie has some unforgettable moments. I'm not spoiling it if by some miracle you still haven't seen it in 2021 but don't die without watching this movie. Some absolutely mind blowing set pieces and action sequences that I regret not getting to see in theaters.
Yeah an kicking myself for not seeing this in the cinema, it would have been one hell of a ride. Not too often a movie comes out that you needs to be seen in the cinema and this is definitely one of those.
@@Klynch111 Some indie theatre in your area might show it. Never know. I once watched a mad max/road warrior double feature that started at midnight, very fun rowdy crowd
So I caught the late night screening of this film with a friend. We both were sleepy and was sure that I was gonna fall asleep in the middle of the film. I spent the whole movie on the edge of my seat and was so happy and pumped that I couldn't fall asleep till 5 am. Who needs cocaine when you have Mad Max Fury Road. PS: My friend was also wide awake throughout the screening and loves the film. Our friendship has only grown stronger.
Same I was watching it on my phone late night like 3am, I thought that maybe I may pass out but boy o boy I couldn't sleep the entire day thinking what a masterpiece I saw..
So glad that they will FINALLY start with the sequel to this, the best action movie of the last decade! Thank you George Miller, shut up and take my money!
@@jedediah2815 Joker was my favorite movie of 2019. :) He is definately in my top movies of the decade along with Interstellar, Sicario, Drive, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and Your Name. :)
@@gravedigger8414 Thank for your answer. I don't see Arrival, but, i can say that i don't like Interstellar. I saw him a second time two weeks ago. In fact, he's empty ( the best is H.Zimmer score). 2001 a Space Odyssey is a real SF movie, maybe or surely the only one. Drive is a soundtrack, not a good movie. For finish, i prefer Day of Soldado... more of Benicio. maybe because E.Blunt breaks my balls when she plays and talks. Del Toro and Brolin is a real best duo in this story. 2049 is great, sure.
I remember watching the 2017 Oscars where Roger Deakins was nominated for best cinematography for Blade Runner 2049. I told everyone watching it, even amongst a large crowd of people at a viewing party "I don't care who wins any award this year apart from cinematography. If Roger Deakins doesn't win, they should burn this entire place to the ground." To their credit, they gave him his prize. So they're not always bad. They are predictable to a fault, though.
One of my favorite moments in the movie was when Max handed her the gun and she looked over at him and they both knew that they were completely dependent on each other to survive this. At that moment trust was no longer an issue survival was.
I literally thought that several times after seeing Furiosa at the cinema tonight. It had the same desolate mood, same tonal progressions, same sounds going on, but just never got as excited as Fury Road. Exactly like the film it scored.
My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once I was a cop, a road warrior searching for a righteous path. As the world fell each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to tell who was more crazy, me or everyone else. Here they come again, worming their way into the black matter of my brain. I tell myself they cannot touch me, they are long dead. I am the one who runs from both the living and the dead, hunted by scavengers and haunted by those I could not protect. So I exist in this wastelad, a man reduced to a single instinct. Survive.
You can tell this was written for an older man as Max. We start the movie with him being haunted by those he could not protect. Him wishing they could protect themselves so he could be free. Then he meets Furiosa and her group. He needed to save her by helping her save herself. In his mind he would not do it himself and free himself. He could run away. But feel the guilt of not being able to help. It's so complex. Part of him didn't want the responsibility, but destiny gave him a chance to do both. In the end he left her in the top position, but he chose to keep running from himself. Too bad Mel Gibson went all crazy or it would have been a perfect ending for the series. Not that Tom did a bad job or anything.
I have never felt so full and complete with adrenalin, when I watched this with a friend in the cinema and in 3D. this song blasting in your ears and feeling the action on your skins, made me wanted to be witnessed, or I don't know... but, if I want to choose how to die, make me believe I will be godspeeding to valhalla. this is a masterpiece, makes me cry, because those immersion into feelings I lived through... this movie was something that will follow me to the grave, I will never forget it.
John wick as badass as he is wouldn't survive fury road its on a whole new level I can see It now he would get killed by a suicide warboy look how crazy they got in furiosa like seriously again fury road is a whole different level and to understand that wick is in a world where just a gunshot or a fight every one scatters and second he's usually fighting guys in smaller numbers who are not completely insane and are not trying to die warboys on the other hand have proven time and time again they are not afraid to die and the vast numbers would outnumber small buildings
This song is perfect for the movie. It blends with the action (which never stops) but there is also a painful undercurrent to the melody (especially in the latter half) that makes you realize that all these people, more than just good or evil, are all just horribly desperate for some semblance of health and normality.
This movie was, like, the perfect incarnation of everything Mad Max wanted to be as a movie franchise. It's as if the three movies that came before were a proof of concept and this was the ultimate realisation of that.
I don't know if anyone reading this is training running speed/endurance but this song is amazing for holding a fast pace- I managed to hold an 8:30 mile pace for the whole song just bc I didn't want to stop running w/ the tempo. its like right when you think you're gonna run out of energy it comes in with the melody and you're like. I can't stop running *now*. And next thing you know you've finished the song lol
@MrManJones Different people Different opinion : Am i allowed to join in on the fun? Different people Different opinion : Allow me to introduce myself
Excited to see what he does with the League. Based on the snippets that have been released, they don't sound as good as his other work, except for the re-master of 'Arcade', which is AMAZING.
I think it is the only piece of music I would like to experience through a live performance by an orchestra before I die. Epic music from one of the best action flicks ever!
This score is so unexplainably phenomenal… I genuinely can’t even put together the words to describe how mixed it makes me feel. I definitely need to make some kind of associating piece of art with this. I’m not even gonna talk about 2:55. That part right there puts me at the verge of crying.
I feel like people don't appreciate the sadness and emotional depth of the Mad Max: Fury Road soundtrack, especially in Brothers in Arms. There's an aching humanity to the last half of that song's every breath that grows more and more tragic every second.
When I left the theatre after seeing this film, one of my two friends said: "We hate you so much for taking us to that movie." I am no longer friends with those people.
@Lennyplank Dude, I was baffled. Like how could anyone not like this fucking movie? But apparently they didn't. Honestly only one of them was a friend.
@@asovietreunion13 It is not a bad movie compared to the originals, what are you on. It's better than Mad Max and Beyond Thunderdome, and as good as The Road Warrior.
I just had an unpleasant exchange with my stepfather, as unpleasant as 70 yo grumpy man can be, and on my way home I thought "mad max fury road soundtrack, this is what I need" and now I have it as loud as possible and I feel so much better 😁
I kind of don’t want a prequel film based on Furiosa. She was an incredible character but I like the thought of Max rocking up, doing his bit to help and then moving onto the next group of people in need. Leave the legend of Furiosa with this masterpiece.
Farrell Helios me too my friend I actually just saw it for the first time last week I can’t believe I never seen it until now it’s in my top 3 favorite movies for sure now
First time I watched Fury Road I didn't care much for it. I think it was because I just couldn't process how good it was. The film, and yes, I consider it a "film" is a masterpiece and one of the greatest films ever made IMO
I have to say I was very positively surprised by the whole soundtrack. Not only 6/5 visual and madness aspects, but holy fucking shit, this soundtrack fits so well
I once played this song while driving back from Burning Man towing a trailer along a desert road in the middle of the night, with my camp mates passed out in the back seat, after a grueling nine hours behind the wheel waiting in line to get out of the gate. The adrenaline kept me awake. I was also constantly afraid I would flip the car off the road and kill us all.
"My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos... ruined dreams... this wasted land. But most of all, I remember The Road Warrior. The man we called "Max." To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time... when the world was powered by the black fuel... and the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel. Gone now... swept away. "
"For reasons long forgotten, two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They'd built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked, but nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. Cities exploded - a whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice, and in this maelstrom of decay ordinary men were battered and smashed - men like Max, the warrior Max. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything and became a shell of a man, a burnt-out desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again."
Before i discovered gi joe, or transformers, or ninja turtles, these were the words that opened the film that absolutely captivated my imagination, then, now, and for all time.
Great balance between the madness and the beauty, first you hear the madness of the wastes and the people who rule it, then you hear the beauty of the unity between the people who cone together to fight that madness.
Mad Max : Fury Road is one of the Three Movies in Cinematic History to be the greatest and closest to perfect films ever made, by the modern earthly mortals... I live, I die, I live again!
I seen this movie for the first time last week and I couldn’t believe what I saw... such an amazing piece of work right here absolutely love Tom Hardy as an actor And when I heard 3:00 come on during the chase sequence my mouth dropped thank you so much Junkie XL for an amazing score to this amazing movie
Everything you wrote is true. Its a tremendous movie , an hymn in an area with mediocre action movies with just explosions and stuff. Hail Tom Holkenborg the GRANDE junkie XL !
Tom Holkenborg is an absolute master at his craft. No one could've conveyed pure insanity, adrenaline and spectacle in drums, violin, electric guitar and every other instrument present in the soundtrack better than he did. I can best describe it as "Grim Reaper riding in a flaming chariot followed by legions of angels of death and the Four Horsemen, leaving total destruction in their way". Just imagine hearing it live, you'd really ride to Valhalla shiny and chrome!
