Julian If Marth/sheik/puff/fox gets falcon offstage early percent no jump he should be dead. And falcon has amazing movement, he’s doesn’t need to stay near the ledge as a matter a fact it’s pretty silly to do that. Since he doesn’t get too many openings that way and he can get sent off stage very easily
@@felixdoyon6546 It's pretty silly to think falcon would never be by the edge. you watch any top falcon set vs. a top fox you can watch wizzy s2j get shine spiked many times, it's more common than high level marth gimps. Not to mention a 0 percent marth/sheik/puff/fox getting back on stage is not a guaranteed kill. You don't go near the edge for openings that's just playing neutral and getting space from your opponent but if you happened to get shined near the edge and a follow up shine off stage that is literally, the free-est kill in the game. One of at least.
@@Berlinwood27 thats true of almost any character with falcon tho. Falcon is just really bad at recovering, that's his main character weakness. Everything else about the character is absolutely incredible. If falcon had a good recovery, he'd probably be S tier with fox, marth, and puff

TheTrueHero when you pick the highest tier with a pseudo-invulnerable that combos into itself and can kill offstage at low percent your complaints become laughable.

TheTrueHero Yeah but his reason for why he hates falcon just seems off to me. Like Fox is arguably just as fast, if not faster than falcon so to hate a character for its speed when you yourself is playing a fast character doesn't really make sense to me tbh.
I play both Bowser and Kirby in Melee and I have something to say about this. Kirby sucks at everything aside from decent edge guarding options, a crouch that's as good as Jigglypuff's, and some fast attacks while Bowser's weaknesses are even WORSE and has slower attacks than Kirby BUT he has more useful tech, pretty good kill power (unlike Kirby who has horrendous kill power), is better OOS, and has genuinely good edge guarding options (back air semi-spikes fast fallers and has a huge hitbox that covers ledge, grounded up b to quickly grab the ledge, has forward air which is good for the jump off stage edge guards, & some more), & has better survivability (he's the heaviest character in the game with having a much faster fall speed than Kirby).
When I was growing up, I used to play melee super casually, like you do. I loved bowser. My friend played fox and samus. I was cool with losing if I got to hit a few fsmashes. There's what's cool about bowser. Hitting f smash feels like nothing else in the game.

I hate fox the most, because every decent fox player thinks they're hot shit and plays super lame. Although, "hate" is a strong word and I think "distaste" would probably serve my point better. I can't hate Icies as a character because I know that wobbling is only part of what makes them good; if it was removed they'd still be good (in fact they'd be way cooler). Main reason I want wobbling to be banned is because Icies mains use it as a crutch -- it's a more or less free infinite combo.
Of course no one said fox because most of these people main fox because 90% of melee players main fox. I like melee but I hate that so many people play the same character
Jack Doti My guy fox in the top 100 mind you is only 20-30%. And no one said fox because he one of the hardest characters in the game. Gets comboed easily by every single character in the cast. Can be gimped very easily, Has no fucking range. Also no I’m not a fox main I play falco/marth
Since you asked nicely, I plan to do more of this for melee/ult when I am at Big House, and plenty of other games when I am at fgc events in the meantime!

Why doesn't Falco get more hate? In every other fighting game, characters with powerful spammable projectiles are generally disliked for how they disrupt and control the neutral. Olimar somehow gets as much hate as IC despite not being able to death combo. Cetrion in MK can both dominate with projectiles and mix you up close yet gets widespread hate. Can someone explain what makes Falco seem more tolerable in competitive games? I don't hate him just wondering
TW I mean, his combo game is hype and laser camping falcos do get hate, and falco gets gimped really easy. And he’s a lot harder to play than people with the “just spam lasers to win” mentality think. People who have that mentality have very, very, very, bad falcos
@@Coolbeans554 Falco does get gimped, but players like Prime Shiz and PPMD made that weakness seem negligible due to how few times they allowed themselves in that position while also dominating neutral with perfect laser coverage. Even Mango is seemingly using laser more often
Falco’s combos are the least guaranteed among the relevant tiers and rely on DI mixups to work at the top level. As a result, you see a lot more variation in Falco’s punish game because nothing he does is free.
Fox, C. Falcon, Samus 1. fox mains brag how good "shine" is but he isnt that good 2. falcon mains think the 1000000th dair fair combo is so hype but its not that hype 3. Samus is so campy with projectiles
It is mainly used in order to constantly hit shield drops and backdashes which are essential to playing this game competitively and are prone to not being consistent due to controller error
I hate peach the most tbh I don't know why there isn't as many people who hate her in comparison to Jigglypuff, like puff is infinitely more fun to play and fight against than peach

it's not just that he's the worst- it's that he's the worst because he's not fun to play, and he also is incredibly boring to play against because of the *reasons* he's the worst. i generally understand liking low tiers like kirby, ness, even zelda and mew2 have their moments and fun shit. bowser is not fun the minute any real stakes are on the line. is he fun with people goofing around? sure, maybe, but anythings fun if people aren't trying - im not giving bowser credit for humans being fun.
I don't think so. I mean if you miss a rest, you either lose a stock or take a lot of damage to the point where you're at a kill percent. Not to mention the fact that if the rest doesn't star KO your opponent, you can easily get punished right after the kill. You can't say the same with wobbling cuz if you miss a grab, you maybe take like 10 percent from a whiff punish.

I agree with all these takes except bowser ... he just isn't labbed out at all But like I expected ICs Luigi and falco to be the main ones because to me they are some of the least fun characters to play against. And in the end you don't feel like you are getting out played in the marketplace of ideas.

fox is combo food,everybody knows how to fight you,playing the character makes your hands hurt the most, you SD the most, you get chain grabed by 1/2 the cast. I play doc btw Up fair easiy kill confirm at 90% and capering their up b.

Fiction is very good no doubt and talented aswell he is a tech boss, but to say he is more talented somehow than HBOX even though he hasn't won nothing significant aside from a few upsets is a bit of a strech no? I hate puff 100% but cmon man Fiction has been playing Melee since 2013 and not even close to the top 5. Now look at Zain for ex he played since 2014 and we could argue he has the talent and mindset BOOM Genesis 7 but Fiction? he is a tech god but when it comes to apply it..he just fucks up. I like fiction he is cool and his fox is sick but he gotta show more before talking smacks.
