That car looks so good, I think i cried a little

it's turbo'd but it's a 3-rotor. it probably has more torque than the 4-rotor, but after he reworked the 4-rotor last year i think it has more horsepower. (not sure exactly how much the 3-rotor has now though)

basically what hes saying is his rotary is not producing heaps of torque which is an advantage because the rear end(diff etc) can handle the power.

not really... between the RX-7 and the RX-8, his "old car" is the 4-rotor RX-7 (which used to be a 3-rotor NA RX-7). he built the 3-rotor turbo RX-8 in 2009 for D1NZ and later took it to Formula D for 2010. after he came back he went back to using the 4-rotor RX-7, and the 3-rotor turbo RX-8 became his demo car

eerr kinda, he prefers driving his Rx-8. He says its easier to drive, hence why he drives it in America where the competition is a bit harder. He drives his Rx7 in New Zealand because everyone here loves it and he likes to put on a show, so in a way the rx7 is the demo car, and the rx8 is the comp car

no i know what you mean. that's exactly what he told me when i spoke to him at infineon in 2010. the 20b turbo has more torque, so it's more like the V8s he went up against here in the US. but when the 4-rotor was reworked after he got back for 2011 it was much more competitive (had much more power AND torque), so it's hard to say. also in D1NZ i feel like the courses have more long, flat sweepers and straights, maybe lending more to the high power and acceleration of the 26b

really before you correct someone you should probably do some research. gymkhana is not AWD specifically. gymkhana is open to any car fwd rwd and awd, and is a mix of drifting and autocross. hell gymkhana is derived from the Hindi-Urdu word "Jamat-khana" which is basically barrel racing with horses.

I'm pretty sure that car doesn't need as much power as it's putting out, he is just redlining it way to much and can't even speed up without spinning the wheels.

It's a hydraulic handbrake, the long handle gives you more leverage and quicker reasponce.

Dude, the RX-8 in this video is a 20B 3 rotor bridgeport with a HKS T51R turbo. The RX-7 that Mike also has is eqquiped with a 26B 4 rotor engine that is N/A. R26B's were only used in cars such as the 787B, RX7 GTO, RX792P, and other "Mazda Racecars". Also for the record, the Mazda Eunos Cosmo came stock with a factory 3 rotor. Search up your facts before posting man.

the rx8 is the new car hes been using the 7 for years its gone through evolutions its been in many different forms it (the rx7) is his old car and hes not australian.
