They can't bring it back some people have strokes if they aren't called a xir or whatever, there would be heads exploding and pale dying of being offended 😅😅😅😅😅
Agreed. Too bad people are too sensitive and want everything to me PC that a show like this cant exist anymore without someone trying to make it out to be terrorist level bad and want ot canceled :( i get some jokes can be pretty offensive but again....it's a joke. I dont think anyone on the show is trying to push a narrative or be mean cuz that's how they actually feel. It's shame ppl nowadays lack common sense and understanding for jokes.
@@mizutsunebubbledragon3382 I don't think most average people actually want PC programming at all. Most people I know complain about the constant forced diversity on television, and want television to return to the days when you could actually make fun of things without fear of immediate reprisal. What has happened over the decades is a complete media takeover by the far left. Movies, TV, comic books, video games, sports, etc have been polluted by an ideology that wants total control over the attention of the masses. The funny (or sickening) thing is, once a piece of media decides to go "woke" it tends to fall flat on its face. The fringe people on the woke left who made all the noise about cancelling or censoring a certain project or personality probably never cared at all about it in the first place. Their concern is simply to spread their poison and shut down anything that doesn't conform to their ideology or vision. The term "get woke go broke" is not just a joke created by the right, it's a recognizable pattern that has been repeated over and over. If people really wanted sanitized, politically correct programming then this pattern wouldn't be a thing.
@@mizutsunebubbledragon3382 Well, people don't joke like that anymore thing got serious so those joke don't fly anymore. It's understandable ans nothing will change it.
@@tryme9914 most people aren’t that sensitive. TV, social media, it’s all a small amount lying and posing as majority’s view. Things change all the time. This “P.C. World” will never remain forever. That’s like saying it’ll be like 1950 forever.
FACTS... this is not even the 'original' cast... but MadTV was awesome at bringing in new comedians.... No offense to SNL, but I chuckle when I watch that... I would PISS MYSELF LAUGHING watching MadTV
Back when people knew it was all fun and nothing was taking too seriously. Have found memories of this show. 10 Year old watching MADtv on late Saturday nights. I couldn't understand much back then, but man it brings back memories.
The thing I miss the most out of back then was that political humor actually took effort in targeting everyone instead of focusing on just one side and saying "x perso bad ha ha that is joke"
I'm just wondering do you know what year this episode was made? cuz it seems like a weird coincidence they predicting the future of Michael Jackson dying And that's interesting because I'm assuming this was made at a time when MJ was still alive
I watched MAD religiously for years and I don't remember that one. NYPD Blue is also one of my favorite shows. I love when sketches get people that were actually on the show to have fun with it! Kyle Machlachlan on the SNL Twin Peaks parody is another great example of that.
It's honestly the best impression of Robin that I've ever seen. It's not comical for the sake of comedy, it's literally just exactly what Robin would do
I remember watching the first episode of MADtv when it first aired in 1995. Watched off and on throughout the years, then in 2003 when I went to college, didn't have a TV for a few years since I just watched movies on DVD on the laptop (no streaming back then!). Great looking back on these sketches that aired that are fresh since I never saw them when they aired but know the references!
Man those were some good old days. Those days were so simple and we had so much more fun and now it is this useless snowflake generation and politicians killing innocent people for oil and resources.
I grew up watching this show with my parents, sweeet sweeet nostalgia 👍 every time we went to the grocery store I would go straight to the magazine section and grab a MAD Magazine to read while my mom shopped
@@mrbungle3310 Eh, I liked/like Mad TV but I was a teenager/older teenager when I started watching it, it's not really appropriate for kids (though, considering some of the crap kids are now exposed to it would be relatively tame)
Hopefully you bought the magazine instead of looking at it for free and getting all the germs from your hands and transferring them too the next person that looks at it
That birdhouse skit is something I need to see happen on every commercial nowadays....especially the pharma ones. Also the fact that MAD tv comedians did skits with actual kids warms my heart.
You’re confusing “then” and “than.” T-h-e-n is an adverb used to divide and measure time… "Detective McNulty makes a mess then he has to clean it up." Not to be confused with "than" most commonly used after a comparative adjective or adverb as in "Rhonda is smarter than Jimmy."
its because motherfuckers didn't watch the show! Yes its great, yes i love the comedy, but not all people like Ginger Ale, i fucking hate that stuff, i never drink it.
A lot of details of a competitive and toxic drama are on Bobby Lee’s podcast TIGERBELLY. Fox treated them like the, “bastard child,” on the network. Drama drama drama was the issue.
@@hallson3437 it's comedy. Racist jokes have always been funny, so long as everyone knows it's a joke. No, it wasn't a "more racist" time, because its always been a racist time. America was built on the backs of slaves, Jim Crow, Seperate but Equal laws, redlining, and discriminatory banking practices, but it was more racist just 20 years ago? Gtfo with your cheap virtue signaling. Its comedy.
I wish Will sasso had continued his career doing impressions because he is amazingly funny. Absolutely an underrated comedian. I like it when he's buff too I feel like he's funnier cuz it's not just a weight issue like it is with a lot of heavy set comedians. He really shows his talent and it's not about being the sloppy fat guy.
I always thought the cast on MAD were way funnier. I don’t want to delve into a SNL rant, but it was always too corporatized and sanitized for my tastes. It always got the most recognition due to who they had on the show, and some of that recognition is deserved no matter my personal views on it, but MAD didn’t get enough praise during the time it was on the air. They had no limits - every religion, all politics, every race, culture, celebrity, stereotype, kink, all ages … anything and everything was portrayed. Was a show that everyone could tune in to and know that the thing they’re watching is likely going to be offensive and crude, but it’s what you watched it for… they all got to go all out with their characters. I loved it.
One of the things that made MadTV so great was the fact that it could make fun of politics without being political. Didn't matter if the subjects of their ridicule were liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, MadTV never took sides, they always took everyone down a notch and it was always hilarious. That's how good satire's done.
Exactly and that meant most people were not divisive. We could all see the whole picture. Now is pure gang mentality. Blues vs Reds Pretty primitive stuff for 2022
Because issues that are pushed by the media today are so polarizing people tend to lean far to either side even though the answer is usually somewhere in the middle
What made it also great in the early years of it, FOX gave such little oversight they were able to get away with so much that SNL would've never been able to air.
that sketch with Michael McDonald and Stephnie Weir playing an old couple that can't get up, oh man... that sketch deserves an emmy alone, honestly, that was pure fuckin comedy gold XD just imagine how hard it was for the actors not to laugh through the whole thing and how hard the crew must have been laughing! whoever wrote this was a genius and wow once again the MadTv cast proves how talented they all are 🏆
OMG yaaasss!!! I'm literally crying, my stomach hurts🤣🤣 Spent my teens watching this...11-12 Saturday nights, then Headbanger's Ball 12-3. Good times. Now I'm 47 and feel like a rebel if I make it past 11pm😅😳😧
They would be crucified because they make fun of whoever they want. Now all SNL does is hate on a guy who hasn't even been president for years instead of making fun of a walking corpse Joe Biden.
@@hallson3437 So you're saying the impressions of Bush, Kerry, and Ashlee Simpson were showing white folks in a realistic way? What about Stuart and his mom? Come on, they made caricatures out of everyone. Mad wasn't perfect or anything close to high-brow comedy but I think it let everyone make fun of each other equally.
You still can, what's changed is that now you can see everyones opinions online and get mad about them and in the 90s everyone just sort of did their thing and there were no twitter debates. The trick is not using twitter, there is literally zero useful information or intelligent opinion on there anyway.
I hate that these days, when you hear about women in comedy, nobody mentions how many awesome women came from this show. Debra Wilson, Nicole Sullivan, Mo Collins, Alex Borstein, all deserve more credit because they’re actually funny.
You just blew my mind because that is insanely true. Whats strange is today they are more or less politically neutral, almost as if they were all left behind because they refused to tow a Hollywood line and agenda. Thats just my opinion though. All theories aside these women are criminally underrated today while other female hacks are raised upon a pedestal.
@@JuanMendoza-qd5lm and @Vincent Emma yep and because of that we hear "women are not funny". I can kind of understand where they are coming from but us humans have short term memories. We seem to forget all the women that made us laugh in our lives in the early 2000s. It's crazy....... I seen Debra Wilson lately in games and that zombie show z nation but the other women, I seen on and off from random tv shows or movies in the early 2000s. They played a small role, they are barely there but still. It's nice to see them again. I know one of them played Lois from family guy (if you already listed her name; sorry I'm not good at matching names with faces) I think that's the only role that she does. I can't remember seeing her on anything else. And since I always get madtv confused with SNL....(please don't bite my head off 🤣 Melissa Mccartney is my favorite.)
@@CLRaider Well to be fair- the ONLY time I have heard anybody use the "stereotype" that women arent funny has been in reference to Standup Comedy... Which I have to admit I completely agree with.
@@CLRaider Although to elaborate- I do not believe that is due to their gender... I believe it is due to the priveledged position in society women have experienced for decades here in Western Society. The cultural norms that paved the way for women to ascend to a level even higher than men.
Frank Caliendo impersonations are priceless, comedy gold! Impersonation of Bush is hilarious! Audience member: What's your view on healthcare? Bush/Caliendo: I like it! I don't know if you're gonna get it? Caliendo's impersonation of John Madden belongs in the hall of comedic impersonations! (I acknowledge no such institution exists)! "The United Pawn Shop Association" Turning stereo equipment into drugs for over four decades! Oh my goodness! MadTv was absolute comedy sketch awesomeness!
No doubt. When they were both airing it made SNL and their writers actually work to keep their viewers. I always thought Mad was funnier and had a funnier cast. Bobby Lee is still one of my favorite comedians.
Whoever made this channel thank you! I've been looking for full sets but finding full MADtv content is rare... thank you again because SNL sucks ass...
Michael McDonald, Mo Collins, Aries Spears, Debbra Wilson, Stephanie Weir, Alex B, Will Sasso. Comedy Gold. I miss getting home from school watching episodes of MadTV. SNL could never make me laugh even a quarter of the amount MadTV did.
