Tiffany, the famed quilted piece you found with the needle point birdcage was a piece of Hawaiian quilting very collectible and truly a piece of art. It would look nice with the pineapple piece you brought home. ☺ Upon further checking, I believe it's a "breadfruit pattern", which is usually the first pattern a Hawaiian quilter makes. It symbolizes a long and fruitful life for the quilter, filled with wisdom and abundance.
Yes, definitely a typical Hawaiian quilt pattern. Vegas is known as the 9th Island, since Hawaii folks love Vegas. Perhaps someone from Hawaii that moved there donated that before moving or inherited it, but didn’t appreciate it.
A pie crust table literally has a raised wood edge like a pie crust. The table you found is approximately 20 to 30 years younger than a pie crust table. Traditionally, a pie crust table was mahogany. But we’re all anxious to see what you do to the finish of the table you purchased! Judy
OMGoodness! Was getting an adrenaline surge while you were in the crafts area. Buttons, lace and sewing notions are my kryptonite! I've got jars full of old buttons and boxes and sewing kits full. Thread, fabric, yarn. It's all so special to me. Still using items from my Grandmothers' collections.
Tiffany why on earth would anyone scold you. It's your business to r7n as you see fit.i often see things I would look closer at or perhaps pick to purchase, but never have I thought I need to tell you what you should buy. You are always so kind thoughtful and generous. The thought that anyone says anything negative to you is troubling. Thank you for another wonderful shopping trip. Have a delightful weekend🌼💛
What an incredibly caring heart you have. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and for treasure hunting with me. You also please have a lovely weekend. 🥰💖
When the Concorde ceased flying, the appointments that they used to serve the passengers their meals became valuable as collectible items. That nickel silver water pitcher is highly probable to be a remnant of the Concorde flights. Judy
@@Lucinda_Jackson I agree and was going to say the same. It was a very popular place and should do quite well. People that stayed there or honeymooned there, would be eager to own it.
At 12:08 on the far left of the shelf lying down is what I believe is a standing antique sewing box. I had one before we downsized and miss it terribly. That would have been another great treasure to find! 🥰
Tiffany, open it, Look for shaped buttons, bakelite buttons or lucite buttons, metal Victorian buttons. There are many collectible buttons. With just seeing the top layer it is hard to see what you have there. It looks to be from the 1960s or so. There may be older buttons from the 1950s or 1940s below the surface.
@@CFM-nl3bc She asked for more information, that she didn't know. She said she would ask her crafter friends, I have bought and sold vintage clothing for over 30 years. I buy buttons, trims, zippers, hooks and other, to repair vintage and antique clothing. I do not make crafts out of them. Any buttons can be used for crafts. Only antique or vintage should be used to repair vintage or antique clothing.
@@CFM-nl3bc Why am I defensive? You stated that she knew this information, which she said she did not. I explained what was showing in the tin of buttons and when it appeared to be from.
At 12:02 the box within a box that had all the spaces for collection’s. Of small figurines. They are always great sellers for me. I always pick them up whenever I see them. They are so easy to transform into something updated by pulling the back off adding a fun piece of wallpaper & repaint the back & Boxes on the front usually in white, black , or a lighter shade of stain. A good cleaning and fresh look with paint & wallpaper I can purchase these figurine boxes for less than $3 - $4 dollars and when I’m done Painting them it’s easy to sell them for $35.00 + dollars depending on the size of the boxes.
Since watching your videos i have started thrifting. since my town is not very big, I decided to go to Kearney, Nebraska to go to their thrift stores. Just thought it was funny that the person that got me started thrifting found something from where I go thrifting.
I love buttons and have my moms old tin. I recall playing with them as a child and cherish them. I’ll never get rid of them because of the sentimental value.
Love the items you picked out today. Your display is beautiful and I love how you put in that piece of brass. It adds that touch of metal. Your curios cabinet looks wonderful!! Loved watching Bear playing at the park!! Thanks Tiffany!!🥰🥰
Hi Tiffany! Your pottery display is just beautiful! And when you placed the two china cats in your curio cabinet and said, “welcome home” I grinned from ear to ear. Loved seeing Ziggy and the Bandit together at the haul. The more cats the merrier! 😻
Hi Tiffany: The cow bank is supposed to moo when you put a coin in it. I don’t remember where the battery is located, but you might take another look at it. I enjoy your video’s.
Tiffany, you will never guess what I found at my local Goodwill today. A vintage Anchor Hocking Honey Gold chip and dip set in the box including the metal hanger. I immediately thought of you!
Hello! As I often do, I fall asleep listening to Utube. What an absolute delight I had waking up to your dog panting and playing. I was laughing before fully awake! So happy to have found your channel. 🥰
My mom is a button collector. Those top buttons look '50s or '60s. You could lot up the carded ones. When you dig in look for bone, celluloid, pictorial or cameo buttons, china, military; single shanks are older. Whistle buttons have one hole and are very collectible.
I think some at least are 50's. To keep me occupied and out of the way when my grown sister came to visit; my mom gave me her metal, ♥ shaped, hinged sewing box.She took the largest button, strung it on some long thick thread w a needle. The tin was full of all size buttons. I was told to find & string the largest buttons 1st; then the next smaller ones, etc. I had to really concentrate & this became 1 of my favorite pastimes. I used this, "game " to occupy a hyperactive grandson also. What fun he had! Such good memories!
I love love love all of those buttons. When I was growing up my grandmother was a seamstress and had a large jar of buttons that she let me play with. Since then I’ve always had a fondness for them. Oh, and your collections are very pretty, Tiffany. Thank you for sharing them with us ☺️
The little wood house is a very small Spirit House. They are from Thailand. That's probably the smallest house I've seen. The bigger the spirit house, the more ornate it is. They are always wood and all have a feel of the far east. Also, with the button tin were 2 others. The one right behind it had needles, thread etc. BUT...I also saw unusual thimbles. It was difficult to tell as it wasn't shown much but I think I saw 1 fired clay thimble and one wood thimble on top. On the quick view, I think one was an animal carving and the other was shaped like a person's head? Like I said, didn't get much of a look, just a glance. I'm sure there were others - based on the buttons, I'm guessing she had many thimbles acquired over many years. Thimbles can go for big $$. There are many thimble collectors out there.
When ever you come across a collection that has been donated, I’m betting the collector themselves did not donate it. It’s a situation I am familiar with. My mom had a large collection of blue glass. She would never have given it away! But she’s gone and my brother and I are looking for new homes for all the pieces. We’ve given some away. We have picked our favorite pieces. There are some I will probably sell on eBay. Eventually, we may be donating what is left. So when it looks like an entire collection has been donated, I think someone inherited it and was so overwhelmed they got rid of it the easiest way.
I think you're probably right Jill. Inheriting large collections can be overwhelming but donated items raise money for good causes and many pieces find new homes and are enjoyed and appreciated again. 😊💞
I think a genie lamp globe was broken. they did well getting one with the same size. Love the pie crust table, I've never heard that term before. keep thinking that the metal pitcher and the metal plate would be great together. Found your exact genie oil lamps on EBay $10 to $47 (for2).
Small cracks will almost disappear is you boil them in sweet milk, that is just regular milk. I did it will a nice cookie jar and the crack was really tight and you could hardly see it. This is just for your ingo.
The little oil lamps reminds me of the year in the 70s when I was a teenager. That year was the one of sky high gas and energy prices. That Christmas my parents thought it best to not have the Christmas lights on our porch as we did every year. My sister and I had a collection of colored glass small oil lamps. We filled them and arranged them along the front porch railing ledge. They were so pretty. And their simplicity added to the the effect... You had a wonderful haul today.🌷
I do the same when it comes to my thrift store purchases for resale. I mostly buy things that I like and would not mind getting stuck with if they don't sell. I've put back things that I just really would not want if they don't ever sell. Your Mexican pottery corner looks wonderful!
Tiffany your pottery display is stunning and you curio cabinet is lovely. Bear is getting so big and I cannot wait to see what you do with the stack table.
Amazing finds today! That pie crust table is amazing! I refinish furniture and sell out of my booth at an antique shop. I know that table looks rough but I'm glad that you have the eye to see its' beauty. Once you clean it, just sand like you normally do and I would add a light coat of stain. I live in NC, otherwise, I'd refinish It for you as a thank you for all I've learned from you! It will be GORGEOUS!
Hello Tiffany, I love pottery and collect it. My husband collects elephants. I love trinket boxes and have more wonderful collections in my home. It makes me happy to look at my collections.
I very much enjoy your videos. Love seeing the cats looking over your haul. Please don't paint the pie-top side table. Take the time to refinish it. There's a lot of how-to's on Google if you're not sure about dealing with the cracks.
Hi Tiffany, the floral double sided plaque you looked and then put down matches your floral coasters you picked up a couple of episodes ago. Not sure if still have them. Love your show, inspiring me to thrift for resale. Love it!!!😀
Had a couple of questions for you... First of all thank you for explaining things a bit more in detail... Would you be able to make a video on how you ship the items what boxes you use...how you wrap the pottery and glass items...what kind of packing material you use...what shopping service you use... The other one maybe about if and how you keep track of the items you buy and sell...
Such a wonderful haul you had. I love your Geni Lamps. I actually have 3 of my own and enjoy using them occasionally. LOL, Bear is such a hoot! Such a gallant effort to get all three balls in his mouth 🙂
The plate from the casino is probably pewter. You have the makers name. The style is rococo 17-1800, but this one is obviously later. I would be so happy to know if and for how much it sold. Please.
I like all of you resale sellers videos all unique I find it very interesting all your decision on what you buy by price what sells for you and what you like just in case it doesn't sell which you come by knowledge and years of shopping. I enjoy all you videos and look forward to the and your every growing family. Your mom and dad are priceless. I hope you don't get stuck with those needle point pictures. Thank you for sharing. You are amazing. See you in the next video 🙋🐈⬛👍 from Youngstown Ohio USA 😁
I always love your videos!!! ❤ Pottery is my passion, so I get very excited when you look/purchase 😄 pottery🥰😍🤩🤗😊The pie crust table is fantastic already🤑 Can't wait to see the end result ☺️ Thanks for the information and the treasure hunt. 😍🤩❤🙌🙏
Hi Tiffany. Great finds. I love the table. It will be amazing no matter what you decide to do. The legs are awesome. Can't wait for an update..I am guessing the snap fixture inside the Laura Ashley purse had a key fob that matched the purse that snapped to ease finding your keys. The cute little oil lamps probably has different shades because one probably was replaced after breaking one. But they are cute. The tin full of Buttons You really should take everything out and inspect. If all new old stock buttons adds even more value. And if any are really old and could be Bakelite(which you will smell)Or celluloid(run hot water over will smell like moth balls or Vicks) or even Lucite. All can be valuable to collectors. I've even found sterling buttons very ornate and old. Have Fun 💐
Awww I loved the pink squat vases/planters (pumpkin). @ 18:00 Usually project pieces are glazed over the entire piece. Those have the unglazed ceramic rim on the bottom. So, now I’m curious to look them up. And those yellow metal hanging pieces w the chains look like swag lamps. I’ve never seen planters like that before. Super interesting! @ 21:55 Oooooo, & that duck pitcher or jug is so cute! I love the pattern painted. @ 22:47 (left side). And on the shelf behind cart @ 22:58 is an adorable tea cup & snack plate set. Possibly aquatic theme, can’t tell. ❤️
Hello the Laura Ashley tote bag the extra snap bottom is probably missing it's matching key chain holder for your keys look it up to see if that's what it is.
I enjoy learning what you think will resell online. Some things look like everyday items with no value, but you know so much about these items and wouldn't pick them if they were not items of value. It's so interesting, thanks for the info! ☮️❤️😊
You buy great items... don't b bullied by people sitting at home complaining about what u buy and don't buy... u have been doing this a long time and u buy what ur folks will buy
Wow I did not see those cross stitch pieces. I would have grabbed them ASAP. I got two today. One an interesting medium sized sampler I shall have professionally framed. The other a 10 x 10 flowers in a white vase.
I like how you put the little Christmas fellow with the wood house to show how it could be displayed. Sometimes, my imagination leaves a lot to be desired
The Douglas Cow, is a great buy, they are worth quite a bit on ebay, there are different animals, some are candle holders, some are money banks. I have the Cat money bank, and the matching candle holder. If you see them again, grab them!
Enjoy your your thrifting so much! Since my sister moved away l don't get out like l used to. We always went to antique shops. It just truly amazes me to see what you find at Goodwill. Heather Dolan
