My brother installed this over shingles on a 16x80 mobile home . He did some frame work over the shingles like you would do with metal panels but I have to say it was a cheaper alternative and will get him by for years . Thank god I was tired of going on the roof with him putting tar in areas where he guessed it was leaking. Had not leaked since thank god ! Been two years. 😆
Hello, thank you for your comment. Indeed Onduline Base can be installed on an existing structure. After removing the old roof, you can install it either on battens spaced 45 cm apart, or on a continuous support (OSB). Onduline Base is ideal for both renovation and new build!
“The overlapping of the sheets is done in the opposite direction from the prevailing wind” I’m thinking of installing this but the side of my workshop faces the prevailing wind. How does this affect water ingress in the overlaps and in the apex gaps?

Are these sheets safe to stand on? He appears to be stood on them on the other side during installation. If so, is it only possible as it appears to be on a solid deck?
Hello Meta! Thank you for your interest. Working on roofs can be a hazardous operation. Personnel should walk on roofs only if this is absolutely necessary. Avoid walking directly on the corrugations where possible. You should use planks or ladders laid flat and supported by the roof purlins, to carry out maintenance and related work. @@OndulineGroupOfficial that makes perfect sense. Thank you. Just waiting on my sheets being delivered now. I do only have a 10° slope however. Instructions say to use a full deck or close battening. It doesn’t say how close though. It’s for a pergola roof. How close would you mount battens? Sorry for questions here. I have emailed but had no reply.
Hello Meta, thank you for your patience. Here is the answer to your request: In the UK for instance, we would consider battens every 30 cm as “close battening”. We would also recommend min. 50 mm wide battens in this kind of application. Hope it’ll help you. Have a great day

Hello, thank you for contacting us for an installation on a normal slope (>27%) we recommend covering 1 corrugation for a side overlap and for an end overlap of 20cm. For a low slope (9-27%) for a side overlap we recommend covering 2 corrugations and for an end overlap of 30cm.
