Bought my at4 in 2020 during COVID. Have 45k miles and no issues. I have the 6.2L and it’s so fun drive. Awesome all around truck and daily driver. My favorite vehicle of all the ones I’ve owned. I remember having to choose between this or 2019 Ford Raptor that was 15k more, the longer I’ve owned it the more I appreciate my choice. Raptor was cool lookin no doubt but this was a better and more practical choice for me.

Do you run 93 octane? I am getting a Yukon XL and really want the 6.2 over the 5.3 but 91 octane is the highest available in my area. Curious if it will work out ok if I use 91 since that's all I have access to.

@@youtuber9917 91 is just fine and what I use. I’ve had the 6.2 for years, also in my Yukon, you can use regular with the 6.2 but premium is what is recommended. For years I used regular then switched and found the mpg and performance to be better with the higher octane.

Nice job with this video - many of your mods are replicated on mine. No issues, no codes. Only once did the truck go "haywire" when I installed the Amp Research motorized steps. Not one issue since then. Here in Oklahoma, 91 octane (no ethanol) is considered premium. The truck runs fine on 91, but really "uncorks power" when adding 1/2 - 3/4 cup of "Race Fuel" found on Amazon at fill up. Running pump 93 octane doesn't do as good (ie -- gasoline from Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, etc) 99% of the time. I found that it contains ethanol to attain a 93 octane rating. I will NEVER use 93-octane again...now, just non-ethanol 91 and buy the Race Fuel additive. These 6.2L's don't like ethanol and the % mix at these gas station pumps is "questionable" around here. I think the best (and smartest) thing you mentioned in this video is the oil changes. Just "because" modern engine oil can go 8,000km+ doesn't mean you should. I use Mobil 1 fully synthetic. Great wrap up with this video...LOVE that color and hood mounted side off-road lights. NEAT!

So far the 22.5 AT4 has been great only small issues I’ve had were. Entertainment system stayed on after turning the truck off at a store. Drove home cycled the start switch, hasn’t happened again. Little hiccup in Trans between 3-4th gear of the the 10 spd - it’s 12:39 mellowed with age (12,000mi now). 4,000mi oil change intervals Mobil 1 ESP X2 synthetic diesel oil.

Thanks for the thoughts. Just picked up my 24 Denali Ultimate and want it to last a very long time given its cost. Did go with the Duramax so this changes my maintenance some obviously. Keep up the great video on your mods. Love seeing what you have planned for both the C8 and the AT4X

Project farm shows that amzoil is the best engine oil. Which is what I decided to upgrade to a while back. I haven’t felt a difference but I noticed my viscosity% sensor on my truck goes down slower. Which means my oil and oil filter is doing a better job. Great video btw I own a 2020 trial boss

I have a 2021 AT4 I ordered just before Covid hit hard. At 11,000 miles, a lifter went out. The dealership replaced under warranty. They did not replace the lifters on the other side, which was disappointing. I installed the Pulsar after the lifter incident and bought a Tacoma to drive daily. I still have the AT4, and it only has 15,000 miles on the odometer. I use Mobil1 0W-20, and I change the oil myself every 5,000 miles or every six months, whichever comes first. Thanks for the video!

Great video, 100% agree with the fuel. I run 93/94 octane and it's makes a huge difference for me. I also shift into L9 but just around the city, highway I flip it back into auto. I heard it's better to leave it in automatic on the highway. I agree with the sound too, I have a Borla exhaust and it makes a huge difference in the sound of the exhaust.

I have a 2019 Rocky Ridge AT4 with a 6.2L, 30k miles on it. easily the best mod I've done is adding a Pulsar LT. at first I was disappointed with its acceleration compared to my previous Ram with a hemi. GM neuters the 6.2 from the factory. The pulsar woke it up and it launches now. also I chose to keep it 8 cylinders all time. only lost 1 mpg. absolutely love the truck

I agree with all of your mods Don you mentioned, especially the oil catch can. I run one on every vehicle, but it is more important on directed injected engines like ours. It is a small price to pay for much bigger problems down the road. Probably the only other one I would say is a must, is to dump the stock exhaust. Those weighed flapper valves are not good and prone to fail. If you read your warrantee, it does not cover a few things and now they added exhaust is on that list.

Ok ok ok, look. I’m convinced you will be getting a HD as the next vehicle. So… you need to buy 2 trucks! One HD and one 1500 for us saps that can’t justify a HD.😂😎. Just make sure they are GMC.😉. Love your stuff Don!

I recently acquired a 2023 GMC Sierra equipped with the 6.2-liter engine. Unfortunately, I have encountered a technical issue with the backup camera. Specifically, the backup guidelines have ceased to function, while the camera itself remains operational. Despite seeking assistance from the GMC dealership for over two weeks, the problem persists. According to their diagnosis, the Video Processing Module appears to be the root cause of this malfunction.

I am of the thinking that the auto/stop function is more detrimental to the engine than DFM is. I have the in-line switch disabler, just waiting for it to get warmer out so I can install it. I am quick to get off the brake and on the gas when light turns green (just how i have always been), and with auto stop/start active, the truck is not started by the time i hit the gas. So what happens is, when it does finally start, i am already on the gas and the transmission and driveline take a jolt to try and get me going cause i am already on the gas. I cant change the way i am, so I am going to eliminate auto/stop start. Your battery tender makes alot of sense to. Electronics is very picky about voltage being what it needs, and if it is not, it can cause strange issues. I was wondering if you ever went with the Pulsar, i am to assume you did not. I have heard some stories about those shutting truck down completely. So the owners disconnect it and all is good again. So with Pulsar, i have the opinion that their quality is not there to handle the high temp swings and jolts that come with a truck. Pulsar has a great system in all that it does, but i think the quality is not there. And the Range device i heard stays on all the time, so it drains your battery.

Another awesome video Don! I love these videos that summarize your experience with the AT4. I want an AT4, but I find the seats in the AT4X more comfortable. But I don't like the look of the AT4X standard steel (AEV) front bumper for 2024. Can the AT4X front bumper be swaped out for an AT4 bumper?
@Donslife
@Donslife 8 месяцев назад
I think it would be possible. You may have to purchase extra brackets, possible some harnesses for the sensors and now tow hooks. If it were me, I'd find an AT4X AEV you can lay underneath, take pictures and make some notes. Then compare it to a standard AT4 refresh. I think if the frame rails, crash bar, etc are identical, it can probably be done. Alternatively you could study some some GMC parts websites diagrams too. Thank you for watching the videos!

Looks like you haven't deleted the AFM mechanically as yet. By going to L9 made me think of that.

No I haven't. L9 works fine for me right now and nothing against PulsarLT either.

Don; First time I have noticed your AT4 Back Window, is that a Camera attached on the drivers side of the back glass? You have done a few Camera's in the past, which one do you have now?

Are you still running Ultra Platinum? Noticed you said Platinum in the video but figured it was just an honest mistake. That being said, if you did make the switch, may I ask why?
