The problem with LoL and every MOBA games these days is... 1. Many of them love to pick the attackers/DPS role even though it's not their type of playing. 2. many of them are so greedy.. just want to jungle and kill. And later if they start to lose, many of them start to blame other people. Even though it's the fault of those attackers that only love to jungle/farm and to kill. Not wanting to defend&destroy turret I dont have any desire to play MOBA anymore. Except for pokemon unite because the players are less to do that dumb thing. The jungle-kill greed

Subscribed just for this! Not just strong female leads, btw - this show is a masterclass in how to write women (among other things). SO many strong women, but not one of them similar - no mary sue's, no two-dimensional writer stand-ins, and no need to weaken or marginalize men in order to make women look strong by comparison... instead, just layered, nuanced, complex, believable and relatable female characters who show that not only are there LOTS of ways to be strong, but that having weaknesses doesn't make you weak. Really, the show is just brilliant. This show is art on so many levels that it has to be viewed multiple times just to absorb it all.
you are so right, i couldnt give a single f if the lead is a male or female. just give me well writen characters with depth, not that "strong female lead" bullshit.
Unforunately it is not granted the story will always be in this part of the world or covering these charcters. There are over 200 legends charcters in the game, with plans for them all. and some of the other champs writtings are so much better. women ones included, and the celestials, ex.
@@dominicvandermerwe2092 I don't view that as a bad thing. Obviously this set of characters and their current story arc has a finite run, probably at the end of this season. So long as they continue to employ the care and excellence that we've seen thus far, I'm excited to see all that the world has to offer. I suspect that it will ultimately end up some sort of massive ensemble piece - think the MCU leading up to Endgame.

The most tragic thing is she isn't actually a psychopath. She feels guilt and trauma but she's been through so much she's mentally stuck at the age when everything went wrong so her moral development hasn't kept pace with her abilities and her reactions to the world have become broken. I've seen psychologists suggest borderline personality (meets all diagnostic criteria when dignosis only needs most of them) and/or dissociative identity disorder (and she does seem to dissociate). Complex PTSD is definitely mixed in as well.
I also heard some therapists suggest that her psychotic crazy behavior might just be an act at first - a way to cope with her trauma, and in time the act become reality because of psychosis and she have difficulty recognizing what is real and what is not.

0:22 a friend who plays League will always try to convince you to play as well. A *true* friend who plays League will insist that you *don't* play it. Because true friends look out for your best interest XD Also, I love how pretty much every reactor's first impression of Powder's singing in the opening sequences is 'ooh, creepy girl singing scary!' then when they find out the context they immediately get sad. I also love how powerful that opening sequence is. It conveys so much without needing to spell out the context and is super emotional to boot. I knew I was in for a ride when the wordless opening had me tearing up.
The line that will always stick with me, and one of my favorites: "He paid in gold and didn't even haggle." The whole team that created this work is amazing but the script in chapter one and nine, my god. Christian Linke & Alex Yee's script for the first and last chapter were special.
16:18 It's a subtle moment and I don't think I've seen anyone really comment on it. When Vi and Mylo were talking about Powder, Vi said "Powder's my problem". Meaning, despite coming down hard on Mylo, Vi still does see Powder as a "problem". 🥺🥺
Some people have such a hang up with anime and yet can watch something like this. Personally, I don't see the difference. I enjoy most non live action mediums because their able to capture imagination better

This show was so good. My wife watched it with me and she pretty much hates video games, she was also weirded out a bit with watching something animated but I think once it got started she saw the level of quality. Excited to check out your reactions over the next few days

Thats the thing though, as a movie/tv show lover in general, I would recommend this to anyone & especially as an introduction into how cool animation can be. Its just a darn good show & those that turn it away just cause its animation simply dont understand the great tv they are missing out on. Greetings from Sweden :)
Arcane is a masterpiece truly showing the world how video games can be transitioned into cinema. It is arguably one of the first real adaptations to earn any sort of respect. The Last of Us, while it was in production at roughly the same time (maybe the exact same time I am unsure), really followed suit and I wonder how much they pulled from the Arcane mindset of sticking true to pleasing the already existing fans of the IP. There is so many amazing video game stories, or just simply games with great lore to draw from ( like how Arcane isn't about league but rather the lore behind the scenes). I really hope the world opens their mind more to the idea of some of these games and starts making more from the already existing great stories. Though there is the fear a lot of reputable IPs get tarnished like The Witcher has been for so many of the book/game lovers. Side note, nerd culture loves strong female characters and rarely has to manufacture "girl power" to seem hip. See the original LoTR trilogy with Arwen and Éowyn, Arcane with Vi and Powder and a character you haven't yet met. Aliens Ripley, Terminator Sarah Connor, GoT Dany, Arya, Brienne (before the story went to shit post season 5), Harry Potter Hermione, The Matrix Trinity, The Expanse Naomi, Drummer, Avasarala ( the voice behind that female enforcer you guys said sounded cool, the Actors name is Shohreh Aghdashloo), Bobby. Long story short you want some bad ass women in your cinematic consumption follow the nerdy stuff, sure there are plenty of bad examples in nerd culture too but I personally feel there is far more good than bad. Also special mention for Lagertha from Vikings which isn't all that nerdy its fairly popular but damn she might be one of my Favorite characters of any show.
All this is the start of a big game. Those who play the game must have noticed the constant presence of ravens near Jinx. And the crows are Swain's companions. He drove Jinx crazy. Told her the runes for the weapons. And having killed the council, he starts a big war. Those who know the lore of the game, probably like me, saw all the Easter eggs.

Hey, I love this show so much that I've seen almost all reactions that came in from the show launch, but yours definitely has a distinction, very interesting to watch both reactions of a person who knows and the one who doesn't. Especially since both of those reactions are highly intelligent and the person who doesn't know does a good job of watching responsibly and carefully. And that's very important 'cause this show is NOT one of those forgiving to watching with half an eye, which is what bombed me at a lot of other reactions. People watching this show irresponsibly with prejudice going to pour a drink without pausing and complaining the show doesn't make sense. Oh really )? I just ended the commentary, unpaused and immediately watched Kiss understand IN SECONDS the idea of why the dropped riches were unrecoverable, that thing actually can be used for determining whether the person watched carefully or not. Because there's two explanations of that and you need to actively "not care" to miss them both (Monsters & Highly toxic water) and start asking unnecessary questions like other reactors did. The 'scroll' that Grayson (the enforcer woman played by Shohreh Aghdashloo) said would reach only her is a cannister for a pneumatic tube system. Basically, you write a note, put it in the cannister, and then place the cannister in a holder at the base of a long tube. Air pressure is then used to suck the cannister up into and through the tube to its destination. In this case, that would be some sort of central switching station, where workers would use some marker or code on the cannister to determine its destination and repeat the whole tube transport process to send it to Grayson's office. I haven't felt this deep about any cartoon since Avatar the last airbender. (Not including stuff like Bojack Horseman and Rick&Morty) One of the greatest ever already and it's only 1 season in.

Yes, the show has strong, female leads, but that is not their personality. Usually writers make the mistake of making that the soul of a character's role and personality. This show manages to have strong, female leads who display feminine emotions, show care and love for the people around them and show that the characters have a lot of obstacles to overcome. And those obstacles are not just "evil, white, straight men" who want to put them down. Class writing in this show makes this show so incredible.

The one issue/problem was when Vander grabbed the item Milo was playing with and then told him not to come home empty handed. That just intensifies the anger that Milo has with Powder's actions.

I'm not sure if you look at comments for older content but I will speak plainly. AoT brought me to your channel and eventually patreon and there was always something about Kiss that I've just related with, a lot of similar emotions at scenes invoking emotion for people on a similar emotional wavelength sort of thing. That being said.. SO MANY BONUS POINTS FOR HAYLO HERE IT MAKES ME GIDDY. My best friend and roommate in college got me into league. We used to play super smash brothers all the time together and when he got into league he wouldn't play smash bros with me near as much. I started to miss hanging out with him so much that the next time I asked him to play smash with me and he said, no, cause he wanted to play league, I offered to download it and play with him. So would start an era where we would play league together ALL THE TIME, and sharing a wall with him I would rush into his room and exclaim excitement in victories and bitter thoughts in losses. He got me so invested, and honestly to this day he is still the best person I have ever met. Eventually, I got married and he was the best man at my wedding (recently divorced unfortunately). We would share many other games and experiences together, he was the type of guy that most people ended up saying he cared about them more than they did him, but for me it was never that way. Covid struck in 2020 and he was one of the first to get it in our state (He was an RA in our college dorms), he developed pneumonia as well and was placed in ECMO (basically a comatose state), and when I was at work I got the worst call of my life and bawled hysterically as I was told that he had passed. He was the only friend I had that played league. He got me super addicted to it and then he left me here alone, addicted to league and no one to share it with. It is safe to say LoL holds a special place in my heart and the fact that the lore is awesome is a huge bonus. So to bring this lengthy anecdote full circle, when Haylo said she jumped on this on release and no one wanted to indulge it with her, I felt a familiar stab I haven't felt in a while, as I too was counting the days for the Arcane release, with no one wanting to indulge with me. I would have given almost anything to have watched it with him. So grateful to have another series from you guys to binge and that Kiss is willing to indulge. Absolutely fantastic series that hits really hard, absolutely phenomenal animating, and will always be very personal for me. If you read this super long comment on an old video, thank you for making it to the end. Maybe it's just because his birthday just passed but when I started this comment I just needed to let it out, It was nice to share his memory. Cheers.

It has a great youtube following plus is a brilliant show, highly regarded. I consider it a comedy with supernatural elements, but it is hard to pin down. It does SO many things SO well-
Excellent choice. BTW, you won't get a copyright strike for showing the full episode without edits on RU-vid. The only thing you might have to chop up a bit is the Imagine Dragons theme song, but that's it. RIOT and Netflix have specifically indicated that they will not copyright strike anything.
Just for clarity: The Last of Us, Demon Slayer, and Arcane, are all absolutely top tier shows, at least so far as they're all getting sequels, and we all know what season 8 did to Game of Thrones even if you've never watched the show. The anime of Attack on Titan (in Japanese) is hands down the best television show I have ever watched. It is a masterpiece in the same way that The Count of Monte Cristo, The Lord of the Rings, or Dune, are masterpieces of fictional literature. Film too, in the case of The Lord of the Rings. Assuming of course that they stick the landing with the final episode airing this fall, but I'm confident that they will. The only other anime that I can truly say is a masterpiece from start to finish is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Personally I pretend the first episode of this one does not exist, because it is technically filler for those who haven't already seen the previous Fullmetal Alchemist anime, and I try to not remember that the fist few episodes were covered even better in that version, but that's just nitpicking. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood starts off really good, and only gets better with every episode the entire way through. Also, it's one of the only anime where the English dub is just so damn good. There are a couple times where I like the Japanese voice-overs just a little bit better, but the entire English cast really delivered a masterful performance with this one, not to mention that pretty much all the writing seen is in English too so it makes perfect sense for the setting as well.
I tried to get one of my friends to watch arcane, she said “I won’t like it cuz it’s league of legends” I said “I hate it too but the shows good” (I’ve played league of legends) I got her to watch two episodes and she still said I hate league of legends and never watched it again.
