I know this video is from a while ago and you don't live there anymore, but do you happen to remember how you hung up your Panda Express sign? Can you put push pins in the wall?
Thanks so much for putting this together. You did a terrific job. My son will be living in a quad at Rosewood in the fall and I was wondering what he should bring. Now I know! :)
Ik this was three years ago but.. the shelf attached to that desk is removable. You just wanna keep the screws to reassemble when you move out! You will need a tool kit 😀
@madelinelewis This was a great video - thank you! My daughter is going to be in Willow -- are those quads the same as Rosewood? We cant find any videos or pics of Willow.
@@madelinelewis wow - thanks for your quick reply. I saw on Reddit some people mentioned some quads have full-sized beds instead of Twin XL - do you happen to know anything about that?
Thanks for this was really hard to find no wonder I'm a honors student and got accepted in nau still waiting to hear back from asu but so far I want to go to asu now after all these videos!!!!
I am actually graduating from EFHS this year and going to Barrett's so excited. Like I know it was 3 years ago but was it difficult to go from tiny estrella area to tempe I'm really nervous. (I remember finding this video a few years ago and thought it was so cool)
aw! ASU is definitely a big school but one nice thing about Barrett is that they host lots of events just for barrett students so you have lots of opportunities to meet people in a small environment. IMO the best way to feel at home is to make friends, and you can do that at those events, or club meetings, or just in class (make study groups! or ask people to get lunch after class!) freshman year was admittedly difficult but after that I really loved Tempe.
THANK YOU for this video! It's nice to not have to deep analyze people's facebook photos anymore just to get a feel for where I'm moving into in 7 days!
do you know if the bed fits in the little nook in the B/C rooms? I know it does in the A/D rooms but it looks like it’d be a little tight in the B/C ones
hi! I don't, but if you look at the dimensions of the couch, but I could nearly lay down flat on it so overall I'd guess about 5.5 feet long? and definitely narrower than a twin size mattress. If you'd like to look at the room dimensions, though, the floorplan is here: barretthonors.asu.edu/sites/default/files/floor_plans_tempe_f16s17.pdf and the couch is on the side wall of the living room, but I am fairly certain it could fit on the window wall as well.
Hi Madeline I'm planning to get a private room/ private shower in the honors barett college in tempe. Any recommendations on what things to get? Also do you have any Idea how it looks?
Your video is so informative. Thank you so very much! Very kind of you to share! Is it a full size bed or twin size bed? Do you need a fan for the room?
It’s an XL twin bed! You can control the AC so I never needed a fan but if you like it really cold you could bring one so you dont freeze out your quadmates! Another thing to consider is that you can’t open any windows so a fan might help if you think it’ll get stuffy. Again I was fine but my entire quad just kept our thermostat at 74.
Andrew each bedroom door has a lock! Just an fyi, the school does have a copy of your key so they can unlock it, but the only time they’ll use it is for maintenance.
Hi! I know you’re not in your dorm anymore, but do you remember or have an estimate as to how deep the hutch is on top of the desk? I’m thinking about getting a TV for my room and that’s where I’d want to put it, and I want to make sure it fits first. Thank you!
hmmm the little shelf on the hutch above the desk? it's not too deep, maybe 4.5-5 inches? I just measured a bowl that I had sitting on top of there, so hopefully it's somewhat accurate😅good luck during move-in!
i am an upcoming freshman & this is such a great video thanks so much for uploading! i was wondering, is the 3 person private room the same as the quad? and do you happen to know if the trio room is available for freshmen?
hey! based on this link: housing.asu.edu/housing-communities/residential-colleges/barrett-residential-complex the 3 person has 3 private rooms, two of them share a bath and one has a private bath. it's in the barrett complex so yes as far as i know they are available for freshmen!
Do you or ur suite mates use a mattress topper or is it pretty good? And if you have a chance, in Room C how many inches is it from the end of the bed to the wall and on the same side, how many inches from the wall to where the door opens? Your video is SOOOOOO helpful!
McKenna Katzman we both use a foam mattress topper and I would definitely recommend one👍🏼 we got ours for $20 at bed bath and beyond. I’m not in the dorm now but I’ll respond to your comment with dimensions when I can. Also, I saw your first comment about the fridge and put more info in the description! Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@madelinelewis I deleted bc I realized you said it! RA said fridge cant be over 4ft high - not cu ft. maybe that's why you don't get popped for it?! :-) Ty!
Hi! I'm an incoming freshman next year and am planning on living in a shared bedroom/ shared bathroom. I cannot find any information on the layout of an of the dorm buildings. So, like what room numbers face towards Barrett and what levels are the best to live on?
Andie Grundy hmm it probably depends on the building! For the building I lived in, even numbers faced the outside and odd numbers faced the inside of the Barrett complex. About the level, I would recommend something lower just in case an elevator breaks and you’re stuck using the stairs. Laundry and kitchen are normally on the fourth floor if that influences your decision. Good luck!
@@madelinelewis Thank you for the info! Right now the only dorms left are Cereus, Agave, Sage South, and Cottonwood. I know you said you lived in Rosewood, but do you have any info on these or just info on what it's nice to be next to as far as distance away and convenience. Also, I am from Minnesota, are you from out of state, or how did you end up choosing Barrett?
@@andiegrundy226 You're so welcome! As far as the dorms, they're all pretty close to each other- Barrett is on the outer part of campus already, so the distance between the dorms within the complex doesn't really matter that much. I looked at a map, and Cereus and Agave are next to the street if that might be helpful to you. Sage south hosts a haunted house every year! But yeah they're all really close and some buildings are even connected by bridges. I'm from Phoenix, so I chose ASU for convenience and in-state tuition.
Natalia the water pressure sucks but the heat is good👍🏼 I don’t think that chrome cast would work- you can’t connect TV’s to the ASU wifi so the only thing that worked for us is cable
You can choose your roommates. The way it works is that you sign up for a specific room, so you can just coordinate with people and sign up for the same one. You can do this with people that you already know, but if you want to room with people you don't already know there's a roommate portal where you can read people's bios and send them messages, so if you find people you like you can decide to choose the same room. Hope this helped!
There are 4 people in 4 bedrooms! I just showed me and my friend's rooms, our other roommates didn't participate in the video. But the other half of the dorm is identical
@@sunnyvakkalanka2739 yes exactly! each person gets one bedroom. There are two bathrooms, so two people to one bathroom. Then all four people share the "living room" area and the little kitchen/sink area!
Rachael Ybarra these are the freshman dorms. (I am specifically in Rosewood) There are a couple dorm buildings in the complex for upperclassmen, but most upperclassmen live in Vista after their freshman year.
