I explained to her the catchline of Lapata ladies and told her that 28 women and 3 girls go missing in a particular state in India every day. She went white in the face, disturbed and horrified. Then she mumbled, "I have still three more days to go in this country...the crowds...the groping....heat..noise...my !" Let me tell you that all this talk of a vibrant democracy and liberalism notwithstanding, there is a dark underbelly of crime in this country, the lines are clearly drawn and areas demarcated. There is a strong impenetrable nexus and the police can't help but look the other way ! Well, the only comforting feature in today's show was your saree, absolutely enchanting.
