I am Congolese and today I understand why Mbili Abel sang Nairobi. I’ve never seen a country after Congo supporting Rumba like Kenyans and what amazing me is that they don’t speak Lingala neither French .Respect to my fellow African brothers especially Kenyan 🙌🏾
Speak to me directly bro, me dancing all-over without understanding anything. I start my movements every time entering a liquor place,Rhumba is appreciated here in Kenya 🇰🇪.
Almost all Lingala heavy weights either stayed or have extended families in Kenya. I went to school with Lovi Longomba's family famous giturist & Vocalist, his eldest son was my classmate, I miss you my friend
Rhumba is medicine, especially like this one,to anybody ,anywhere and without overdose, ; you like listening more and more. Thanks to the legend s ,your memories will last for generations.
Mpaka Congolese wamekua huko since 70s. My dad speaks of their 'raves' like a love story from Hollywood. Na hata hizo siku mathematics hakua main. Ata sijui alikua lower primary
My dad listened to this kind of music when I was young...I ended up loving them ✨ came to realize it's called rhumba and now I ❤️ rhumbaaaa Kenyan 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
I'm listening to this song in August 2022 around 10pm and it reminds me of my late Dad. He'd sing this song from word to word and stand to make a few moves before getting back to his seat again. It's been 3 years since we lost him and the song really makes me feel his presence 🥺❤️.
I love u ppl from Kenya I'm really proud of you guys you're really funs of Congolese music that I have never seen no matter u don't understand the language but your courage really make me happy I'm from DRCongo ex Zaire
This was my dad's favourite tune I'll always play in his memory💔..I've had it on replay today for sometime now..the laughter part at the beginning of the song was what my dad loved doing most. He'd set the song on replay mode and wait to laugh.and we'd wait to hear it and be happy. He did that even when there was an outsider in the building..I will really miss my Dad😭😭..May your soul continue resting in peace papa ❤️
It is well @KW. I too lost my dear loving Father last March. This music was his absolutely best besides Christian music. He is resting at the Feet of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Am sending love to all rhumba lovers from Uganda especially to my girlfriend who is a Congolese. Am so proud of you. Am enjoying Rhumba because of you. 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇨🇩🇨🇩
Funny how I don't understand the language but I just love his songs. Brings back the old memories of dad,, Sunday evenings with him would be a blast. RIP both
This song reminds me of my late father's turn-table. God knows I don't understand a word in the song but I can't deny the peace that comes with the music. Argue or not, old school music is still the best.
We cherish all African legends who sang perfectly especially the message and rhythm despite the fact that we Kenyans couldn't digest every word but the method used to organise even the musical instruments was perfectly observed. We humbly respect these brothers and sisters for their dedication and respect they showed when singing. -They entertained, educated and ridiculed vices like sexual harassment and indecent acts to both girls and women. They portrayed standard or high sense of discipline and respect to people of mixed ages.SALUTE TO ALL OUR AFRICAN LEGENDS.❤❤🎉🇰🇪
Legend !! One of the best music composer of all time ,its sad as Africans we get so hooked into western junk sounds and look down upon our own great talents
11:40 Wuta ngai nayo to kabwana, bandeko eh Nakoma libre Wuta ngai na yo to swana, bandeko Okangela ngai elongi eh Nakoma libre, nakoma libre, nakoma libre oh Since we split up my dear I have become free Since we argued You frown when you see me I have become free, I have become free, I have become free Liberte eh.. I don't understand Lingala nor French, but I'm here every time I'm traveling or lone late night before sleeping 😊. The Congolese are blessed with music, God gave them lots. Big love from KE Nairobi
I remember these songs playing in my Dad's 1970 Chevrolet impala from his 8- track equipped radio over and over again. Yes summer of 1982 driving from Dallas Forth worth airport to Abilene Texas where he was schooling. May your sole rest in peace Madilu.
Imagine my shock when, in some Western country, I met a Congolese brother - a pastor - who told me "Hiyo miziki si ya Mungu, siwezi kuisikiza". Nilitamani kulia machozi! Memories of Zanze Bar, Nairobi, na Club Egesa, zama zetu kitambooo - kweli zilivuma. Fantastic music, nostalgic memories!
This is 2021 and I still find myself listening to this music. Then it means this music was brewed really good. Salute to this great sons and daughters of Africa. Madilu has passed on but his music is like it was released today. God bless our motherland Africa.
