@Ali Hussein yeh but the dude managed to get a few cuts in and even cut his head off before he died. He put up way more of a fight than when San and Deimos fought him. those two didn’t even pose a threat to tricky at all, mean while, hank here was able to fight him head on momentarily
Wanna see skme real speed bit h im gonna show you some real speed bitch Niiigaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
my head canon is that tricky isnt shaking and moving so fast cuz of the improbable drive its cuz hes really fucking cold and is moving fast to get warm like when do u see him not shaking? its only when hes in that form where hes a huge skull and has fire around him (both in madness 7 and 11)
It’s scary that Hank isn’t the hero, or the agents aren’t called the enemies. In fact, it’s pretty much the opposite, The protagonist and the victims. Really goes to show how Madness’s main character is not a good person.
He's Chaotic Neutral if anything, but unlike most villain protagonists, we learn he's a well-intentioned extremist at worst and a byronic hero at best. He's got two friends at least, and that's saying something.
But Anti-Hero is too vague. There are different types, some mild and others on the slippery slope of villainy. If he's still a villain, he's the lesser of two evils. We already know what the Auditor has done as well as his motivations. If Jebus made it his responsibility to kill the Auditor, it's because he's even worse than Hank is (assuming Hank is bad, but we only see him target the Sheriff and his cohorts as well as the LEET agency, which is affiliated with the Auditor).
Kudo Redfox Anti-Hero: A hero that does heroic things without heroic intentions. Example: Wario defeating a band of pirates, but with the motivation to get his stolen treasure back.
I find it funny how Hank is an master of ALL combat styles with ALL weapons, including styles that don't even exist, like using unloaded guns as melee weapons

Some people watch their kids grow up. They watch their favorite TV shows from the 90's be put out to pasture. But me? I watched Hank turn into a fucking lobster.
@@salt943 i actual agree he definitely looked the best here before Krinkels made him a bit too 3D imo. Still absolutely awesome tho and he needed an update to fit in with the higher res enemies and backdrops that come later. Madness 5 just has the perfect amount of nonsense to strict violence, and it's the first time we really start seeing the improbability drive as a problem.
The reason I love this series so much, is that every little thing has purpose in the story. The duo in the truck that have Hank the sword would eventually be Sanford and Deimos. Hell, even the posters have purpose.
@@skeletonking2501 to be fair, you don't need to know the story to enjoy it, new guys helping Hank that instantly die? funny plot device. oh? they actually matter now? well now they're here to help in the slaughter. there's 2 Hanks in hell? who cares why, its cool as hell!
You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! You can’t stop me! - The Clown
Without knowing that it’s Sanford and Deimos, seeing two grunts in a car just show up out of nowhere, throw hank a sword, then try to get the hell out of there before being crushed by a night club is probably the single most non-sequitur thing that has ever happened.
@unknownlcharacter from roblox v2 Yes they did, you can clearly see they are in the basement of the building, bloodied and with a broken floor where the car is. They survived the building crushing
You can tell this episode is when Matt really improved as an animator from the previous ones. The character movement, the camera angles, the sheer amount of shit happening on screen, the jump in quality is just insane. This is when Madness truly became something special Imo, instead of just being another run of the mil edgy flash animation
In a later episode, Hank fights through this building while being chased by the clown. The first room from this episode is featured, with the glass replaced by a vent that has also been nailed shut. I love the details. Like when Hank kills the sun, seemingly as a joke, but it's literally night through the entire rest of the series.
@@AdmiralChimp Eh yeah, though the detail of him being a zombie with those capabilities is the main thing about it, improbability drive does the work but the execution of it also plays a part.
I always felt 5 and onward is where Madness finally found it's color palette, darker shades of grey, red and proper shadows and shading. It's really cool seeing how far this series has come from a simple revenge story to a full blown apocalypse of sorts.
Depredation is the best madness episode imo. The sountrack. "OMFG CLOWN!" "YOU DO NOT KILL CLOWN" "CLOWN KILLS YOU!" That little intro thingy. Overall a great episode.
This entire episode is just Jeb and Hank rough housing and I LOVE it. Jeb trying to add to his glory and kill Hank on his own, and clearly getting upset whenever he fails to or gets hit. Plus Hank struggling a bit but clearly having the time of his life. And then much to both of their confusion, Tricky shows up and completely RUINS both of them. This specific episode feels like such a different Era of Madness. It isn't all "Normal" like in MC1-4, but it also isn't pure Madness with MC6+. It's just this inbetween for when the insanity of the actual series kicks in. And it feels like an eventful night before the actual nightmare starts for everyone
Man even now, after about 10 years of being desensitized to violence, at the age of 23, the image of a reality-breaking zombie clown holding the upper half of Jesus's head @3:14 is just so chilling.
@@rockr3vivals dude he means "less sensitive" not "I dont feel anything. Not since she broke my heart. Why sarah. Every waking moment of my life is pure agony."
i really like how the agents always/attempt to fix their sunglasses even when they’re about to die, i like to think that’s because it’s what differs them from normal grunts, to have something of a personality, every single major character has clothes/accessories that give them personality, and the glasses are the only thing they have really
And terrifying. Imagine fighting your arch nemesis and this clown that you shot before comes out of the ground with a stop sign that you used to kill him before and starts beating the shit out of everyone. Then, he comes back holding the severed head of your nemesis and stares at you like _”Your life is fucking numbered, count your seconds.”_
Thanks to this coment now i just thinking: if in that moment tricky was neutral? If he just appeared to see what's going on and hank just shooted him? I dunno
this is Hank, he wears his masks and makes sure that he kills everyone to distance himself to not spread the virus be like Hank EDIT: holy shit i was not expecting this
i know this episode is old as hell but i really love the different angles and visuals in this one. it seemed like a turning point in the animation for the series as a whole. solid episode.
I vaguely remember recalling watching madness combat when I was young and I wanted to rewatch the series but kept forgetting, luckily the tricky mod reminded of this series, so far, I do not regret the choice of finally picking up this series instead of saying “I’ll watch it later” again.
@@bimorepolish6866 nah i actually found it a long time ago but it didn't interest me when I was little until saw it again when the tricky reminded me about it so I checked it out and saw what it was about and how good it was although it's okay for you to believe that because it's understandable anyways bye
I came here from FNF wanting to know about Hank and Tricky's lore and damn. This series does not disappoint. edit: the next person to reply will be the 69th replier. whoever you are, im subscribing to you immediately edit 2: the above has been completed
Same here. I also came from FNF, and when I learned where Tricky was from, watched the series, and saw the other vids, I instantly fell in love with Madness Combat. Fastest that I ever got into a series.
this went a fair bit harder back in the day because you could add slow motion by having complex animations and the hardware limitations would slow it like a PS2 during a heated fight. watching this on windows xp on dial up speed on a flash player meant when the roof exploded so did your frame rate, monitor, and speakers. absolute kino that cannot be replicated
9 years and only now i've realized that the final moments of this song are actually part of Abrogation's theme (when they're in the final floor against the auditor) Man this just really shows how much passion is behind this series from everyone involved, such cool attention to detail and continuity, this the reason why i love it so much
I was at a friends house when this dropped online for the first time and I remember watching it 20 times that day hoping for the next one to come quickly. The good old days when you used to have to wait for shit forever and just be patient, no harassing people no griping just waiting anticipating the next one.
Sometimes I like to imagine the characters exchanging dialogue in this series while they're fighting. Hank: How many times do I have to kill you? Jesus: I could ask you that same question.
+kirbystarwarrior You may have to imagine the specifics, but I think it's fully implied characters talk. Deimos lowers his headset in MC9 and _seemingly_ talks.
Albin Jonasson And you'd be right. Some of it can be heard, but you can imagine the characters talking. Even if they don't "talk" in the traditional sense, usually body language and hand signals are enough to decipher what they're saying.
***** Yeah, the "conversations" Sanford and deimos have are really enjoyable even if they don't talk. And like you said hand signals and body language are enough to get a feel of what they are saying and to show the characters mood and emotions.
Also, it would be interesting if Krinkles did special "what-if" episodes. Like, what would happen if Hank got in the truck with Sanford and Deimos? Or what if Deimos waited for the possessed agent to come into the room to deal with him BEFORE reviving Hank? Or what if Jesus didn't kill Hank at the end of 7 and instead the two joined up against the Auditor in 8? I'd like to see some of those situations and even more happen.
this is giving me flashbacks of prowling on armor games, stickpage, and newgrounds when i was like 12. the simplistic animation, the over-compressed music, the obscene amounts of violence. better times.

It’s like everytime he recovers from almost dying, he just gets better with defense and attacks. So all i had to say was that he is basically immortal. Wow.
Detail has seen an improvement and the whole design has gotten a tinge of darkness added on top of it, not only is the outside now dark but so is the inside, this is the point where the series really gets its final look in terms of style. Hank gets one of his iconic looks, his future ones will all be built upon this one. Jebus gets his cool coat and red glow behind his shades and Tricky becomes a menace and kind of scary (was to me when 10 years ago). Sandford and Deimos are also introduced very quickly.
I always loved how this episode felt like a new beginning for Madness. Basically all the main characters got total redesigns, the animation quality jumped, and there isn't much plot development to ease it into the new, much more complicated story.
Thoughts as a first time viewer: Holy shit. This was like a hard reboot to the series and I'm so here for it. The sidescrolling is almost entirely gone, replaced with actual camera angles (!). Something about the character's movement is different, too. It feels more... Natural? The protagonist (who I know to be hank thanks to other comments) is now a fully unique character design with the bandages and the glasses. Jesus continues to be a strange but awesome presence in the series, and tricky obviously stole the show at the end there. I've got to assume the improbability drive is still active due to the sheer amount of nonsense, the agents swarming out of nowhere and particularly those two random guys who chucked a sword and then got crushed by a house (?). Also, it seems I was right and hank is just gonna keep on dying.
@@FEdelasJONSEnjoyer It feels like a new beginning or reimagining of the series. Krinkels had originally intended for Madness Combat 4 to be the conclusion to the series too so I see what aarcade is talking about.
What I love about this is how it shows the difference between Hank vs Jebus, and Hank vs Tricky. With Hank vs Jebus, despite them being enemies since Episode 1, they have a strong sort of respect for each other. At 1:54 Jeb stops the agent from just gunning him down there and then, wanting an actual fight. 2:07 Hank's basically saying "come at me" showing that he does actually enjoy their fights, 2:57 they both attack Tricky for interrupting the fight, and of course Madness 7 where Jebus mercy-kills Hank. They both hate and want to kill each other, but when they do fight it's honorable and somewhat dignified. Compare this to Tricky vs Hank, where Hank is fighting for his life half the time, and running away for the other half, and Tricky is so psychotically obsessed with fighting and killing Hank that he will murder anyone who does this first. There's no honor in their fights, and Hank doesn't enjoy them, it's just Tricky playing with his food. He even gives a weapon to Hank when they fight so it's more "fun". Hank and Jebus fight for victory. Tricky fights for fun. Hank even wishes to stay dead instead of fighting Tricky again.
'Playing with his good' is easily the best way to described Hank's fights with Tricky. And as 7 and 9.5 part 2 shows, the Clown takes exception to other people interfering with his 'meal.'
