To me this live set was their best tv gig of the lot. 1983 was when the boys were riding the crest of a wave. I don't think they have ever got close to this level of tightness since.
This song came out in what - 83? I guess those must have been some formative years for me because I've owned three houses and none of them have ever been on a corner lot!
I saw them live in 1983 at Day on the green at the Oakland coliseum. Suggs made my day by spotting me at the front of the audience going crazy so he walked over to me bowed down and doffed his cap to me whilst singing!!
No, it isnt funny you should like this song. It's a great song and loads of people love it, regardless how old they are or when they were born. Enjoy this classic hit!!!!
Im sure this is the performance on the tubethat they played the Sun and the rain for the very first time loved it from the first moment i heard it shame it's not on here
That's a far smaller gig then when I saw them opening for The Go Goes opening for David Bowie at Anaheim Stadium that same year. My first concert. Not a bad one to start my hobby at 13 years old. Just went to Fear, Suicidal Tendencies and Pennywise earlier this year. Contemplating GBH, Circle Jerks and The Dickies in a couple of months. The month before that I am doing The Mission UK. Yeah, can't let the 80s go. Lol 🤣
@@AfonsoEGM I had to learn it for a wedding band I was in years ago. Very strange chord structure that just seems to work when it’s all put together. The crazy thing is that the crowd would hit the key changes with us.
@@tylerthompson1842 ive always said, trying to approach with music theory is a nightmare. But anyone can sing along and just "hear it," if anything it's easier if you're not familiar with music theory at all cuz its misleading when you're listening to something by people who didn't have or need formal teaching. Fab song
If you like Ska try Two Steps Twice, a new band who are finalists for Live and Unsigned 2011 at the O2 UK. Bringing ska back to life in 2011. Look them up on Facebook for more info!
Who is that singing man on the left with the blonde hair. He is too fine, Yikes. I just revealed myself...... sorry. Jesus, He's gorgeous. He does look a little bit like Matt Damon.
Vocals are ok, but the horn section is COMPLETELY out of tune. Hopefully it's just the recording or maybe their monitors were out and they couldn't hear each other.
