Did anybody else notice how she hugged him. Then really hugged him like she didn't want to let go. When you have an intense relationship with someone you are always connected to them and they are always in heart.
Such a shame Sean and Madonna couldn't have met each other in 1995. They would have been mature enough to handle the pressure on the marriage. If they did they would be together today. I just know it. I think Sean is still the biggest love of her life.

I'm not going to comment on the fake accent, but it is interesting that Madonna's prime (in my opinion) mirrored the years she was married to Sean Penn...1985 to 1989. I thought they were the coolest couple EVER.
on the last award dress she would go on to wear it again for her Love don't live here anymore video she just replaced the hot pants for long black plants...The queen of pop previewing her outfits before premiering it on a video.. Love it!

@menajapo As you say, that would be romantic, but a little detail you're forgetting is that they just divorced and they finished in bad terms, in fact there were some incidents of domestic violence. So I don't think that would be too romantic.

M completely dissed Kelsey Grammer and Margaux Hemingway (5:30). M is bigger than Kelsey and Margaux but that was not cool. You could see Kelsey feeling bad after he handed her the award and she didn't even shake his hand. Kelsey is worth over 100 million dollars from the shows Cheers and Frasier and Margaux is the grand daughter of Ernest Hemingway the incredible American author. Margaux died a few months after this. Kelsey and Margaux where excited about meeting M before the show :( sad

At this stage of Madonna's relationship with MTV they (VH1) wouldn't want to upset her by not telling her Sean would be there. M rocks but she knew.

The awards were already planned. Sean Penn is her ex-husband, they were married in the 80's. It was set up for him to come out and present her with the award. These awards only existed for a short time.
