I saw 7 shows of DWT! It was an amazing experience. The air was full of electricity and excitement. What the show. The stage was incredible, very modern and futuristic and watching after many years the intro + drowned world substitute for love (my fav Madonna song) + impressive instant made me cry cause it really was an emotional trip down memory lane. How lucky am I to have the possibility to watch all the madonna tours since I was 12 in the 1987, with my mum in Turin! I can't imagine my life without Madonna, its impossible! I remember in Barcelona, opening night during Impressive Instant 18.000 jumping up and down screaming OH-OH-OH, goosebumps!
I love Who's That Girl tour but this is like American Horror Story the musical. 😓 Too dark for me. So glad I went to see Mariah in concert and Janet's All For You tour. I envy anyone that got to see Who's That Girl tour in person though.
This was my first Madonna concert at Staples Center in LA, three days after 9/11. The entire nation was in shock and stressed out, and this concert was amazing. It was an electrifying break from the stress we all felt
Drowned World Tour’s brilliance, it’s truly genius like decades ahead of its time and the fact that it was the tour after The Girlie Show, the artistic shift
The best Madonna is in here guys: stage, voice, setlist, outfit, dance, interludes, sets, production, storytelling... This is what I call ART onstage. This is history. The energy and creativity of DWT is just overwhelming.
This concert is definitely her best vocally that I have seen on RU-vid. The years she received extra vocal training for Evita are still shining through in 2001.
not really. you could only hear it in some parts of the songs. but if you watch all her tours, she has a voice that gets tired really fast. so she sounds a little deep and slightly raspy.
Yes I was, I had waited all my life to even get tickets, I was 2nd row and still best $ ever sent and so glad it was the recorded in Detroit it was also the last time she had Detroit dates here for future tours. My guess is the complex family stuff. We witnessed this amazing show just before or after 9/11. I was unfortunately very ill and literally checked out then bk in because I was not missing it no matter what.
Oh and our minds were blown when she sang live and it was live auto tuned. I personally hadn’t seen anyone intentionally make it heavy auto tune live. I’m not going to start about the flying ninjas lol
I remember watching this on HBO and being disappointed that she didn’t perform many of her hits . Now that I am older and wiser, I have to agree that this is one of her best tours.
A Madonna fan since 1982, I watched this and at the time was really disappointed. Whilst I understand she was moving forward in her career. I think any artist should include more old favourites, especially when you’re paying so much money. There were too many album tracks instead of singles included . I love these tracks, but feel like if she did a ray of light/music anniversary tour now and did this ! I’d be living my best life. Some stunning visuals though.
My first Madonna concert that I got the opportunity to watch. I still remember the day we stood in line to get tickets and how nervous we were when it went on sale. I remember tickets were selling so fast I was ready to go to another city to catch her, in case tickets in my city sold out. The nail biting anxiety was real lol.

I'm actually a black Madonna because I do act like her as far as expressing myself my bday is August 15th and her is August 16 so when she performs I understand.

It's simply her best tour ever. The selection of songs, the stage design, the dancers, the routines, the special effects (more than she'd done before, I think), the guitar playing, kung fu, line dancing, country western, futuristic, flamenco, heavy metal. Creepy stuff, hideous stuff, weirdness; but also party vibes, beauty, grace and meditation, all in one show.
Come on man, you must be young, that was not her best tour ever. It's the lowest money making tour at 74 million (it's one of the most original of her tours). It was Sticky & Sweet Tour at $407,713,266 (2006). She killed it in that tour. I don't think you'll get another solo female or male performer with that energy and skill ever. No woman has broken her record, she's second to Rolling Stones as far as all time tour sales. She's a bad ass.
Confessions tour .. THE ULTIMATE FOR ME !! I would've given anything to be at that gig. Just couldn't get tickets. But I've seen her 4 times now & she just reigns supreme. She's phenomenal !! ❤
21 years later, thanks to this channel, I have appreciated every detail of this splendid show! Music is great, there are many different art forms involved! Brilliant!👍💕🙏🌞🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
@@gregory7567 My God! You could be my son! When I was your age ,saw the'Blond ambition tour'!!! Was flabbergasted 🤣👍💕 saw the Girlie Show in 93, amazing! My favorite artist is Tina Turner, amazing Lady! Worth seeing her, you can find many gems on RU-vid! If you want more references of artists from the 90', just ask! Wish you all the best, a great time, love and health! 👍🙏😊
I remember first time watching this in HBO... I was enjoying every moment then realized that Madonna didn't sing any of her 80's hit. I thought that she may sing Open Your heart after Frozen but a bit disappointed. Suddenly I felt heaven hearing La Isla Bonita with a new and better version!
This is probably the best tour. I doubt it was the most profitable, but it's definitely the best performance for Madonna, vocally. She's completely live with only strategic auto tune in certain songs. Still able to dance about and hit the notes. Naturally she's shakey because of the dancing and she's not really that strong of a singer to begin with, but she gave this perfmance her very best.
Saw DWT in my home town of London at Earl’s Court. It was just breathtaking. I’m so privileged to have been a part of this. Was 31 then. 54 now. She’s always been part of my life. Love her. What an icon. What an inspiration to all women. Uber talented. Never afraid to express herself. Be herself. I think we all have something to learn from that.
Une des meilleures prestations de Madonna dans cette tournée de Drowned World très aboutie après 8 ans d'arrêt. Tres belle et en forme. La version de Holiday est vraiment topissime avec Donna et Nikky ❤❤❤
From this concert u can tell she put her foot down to her management and was grown up to say. My way or the highway way. I will always admire her and love her. The one and only queen of music
She is sexy here. Hands down. The music, dancing, energy, this was her best tour. And I'm a die hard Madonna fan. I know all her music, year it came out, all about her etc. But this just showed her naturally on stage having fun. GOAT
I have seen MADONNA seven times from this tour (2001) through Madame X (2019) and I am amazed at how she can sing song after song after song ... dance and move / sing ... and then repeat the performance for months on end. She is not sitting behind a piano or stalled in one position. That is the making of a TRUE BLUE legend!
Ive watched in DVD sooooo many freaking times... And Would not understand the mainstream talk about Madonna in the past lolol Silly bastards knew nothing. Let alone what was about to come up[ after this tour!!!!
The first Madonna concert I’ve ever seen. I learned to play the guitar because of this concert. The first song I’ve ever attempted to sing while playing the guitar was I Deserve It. Sang it for my partner during our first anniversary. I never said I knew how to play the guitar. Haha!
Esse show é apoteótico,Madonna se reiventando como sempre !Ela é sem dúvida a maior artista pop de todos os tempos Muito amor e Madonna e toda sua arte 🇧🇷
This show is different and extremely avant garde. She hadn't toured in eight years and has three albums to cover, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, & Music.
Hopefully, one day I’ll be able to say those lines in “I Deserve It” … “I have no regrets, there’s nothing to forget - all the pain was worth it. No running from the past, I tried to do what’s best - I know that I deserve it” 🙏🏾
Потрясающее шоу, расскрывающее разные грани Мадонны как артиста. Туры, которые она создавала в нулевые годы ориентировались на канву drowned world tour.
I saw this in NYC, flew from San Diego, CA jus to see her frst tine ever in person..te queen flesh and blood, and met wht could hv been love of my life..but stupid me let him go :(
I saw her when she came to Berkeley/ San Francisco. Unfortunate I was quite far away that I could only see little figures . I did see it again on HBO and it was amazing
Ok since I can't find my old comments.and so long ago..ill post again..myself and 2 others snuck into before the show..she was strumming her guitar in the stadium with no one there..we didn't scream out heyyyy madonna ..no..we just.. for a moment stood still...also maybe cause we were star struck...or maybe cause we didnt believe it was really her..also we wouldnt want to get in trouble... ..but when we left and when the concert commenced some time later....I knew...the way she strummed the guitar..watching the concert and finding out that particular scene she actually did alone...it was her! I knew we were blessed to be alone with her then...and once in a stadium that would soon fill in with thousands we had her alone...IDONT know how we were able to be there with all the security but there we were..and if I posted this atleast 5 x before its ok..I might forget ..buy every time for whatever reason I go back to this tour I also remember a friend we had with us..he died some time later...in tragic circumstances..so so sad but I'll never ever forget this concert with us forever..again if I scroll through this thread I'm sure I'll see my post of reminence all these years...but all I really really recall is some friends and 1 parent were at the most epic best concert moment of my life with someone who I only have memories of cause hea passed..but fuck...madonna in Detroit that night put a hel of a show on
Nothing really matters could have fitted PERFECTLY in the geisha act. Nobodys perfect wasnt necessary. Take a bow as well. Bedtime stories, power of goodbye
