Madonna is and will always be the queen. Gen Z has no clue their favs wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for her. She is literally the most important and influential female artist in music history and a symbol of empowerment for women and the LGBT community. Nobody else like her.
This tour was the tour that set the standard for all solo artist tours that followed. It was INCREDIBLE. I saw it 3 times, once in Paris and twice in London. Very little has beaten it since.
@First Last Very dated? Current pop singers onstage is straight out of the “Madonna 90” guidebook. It’s one of the reasons female artists feel comfortable singing about sex and desire today. They divide their shows in themed set-pieces, theatricality, feminine sexuality. By asserting ownership of her body she is not re-establishing any old taboos, she’s breaking the oldest one of all - subservience. Her image, her body, her art, her rules. Which was Madonna’s point all along.
This was the first tour of its kind, big, theatrical, multiple costume changes etc. Every artist since has followed this style, but nobody can top her. Her tours to this day are iconic.
Eu amo a Madonna, mas Michael Jackson fazia isso antes dessa turnê, não nego a troca de influências entre um e outro, sempre houve, ambos gênios do entretenimento, mesmo em diferentes abordagens ❤
Blond Ambition Tour changed the way the concerts were made FOREVER! All this "pop stars" have to thank Madonna for making a path for all of them. And remenber, there was not internet back then... She still THE QUEEN OF POP!!!
This concert set the standards for production levels, creativity and outstanding performance. Madonna drew the blueprints that ALL artist now follow. Not even MJ had this level of excellence . I saw her in London and she blew the crowds minds. This concert stand to this day, as one of the best. M is the number one solo touring artist for a reason. $1.4 billion in ticket sales.
MJ absolutely had that level of excellence, he's the one who inspired her to put on this type of show and train and rehearse like she did. From her concert tours to her music videos Madonna was following the blueprint Michael laid down. She even hired his manager to manage her career too and hired his band for her early tours. Lots of artist have tried but she's the only one who reached his level.
@@missbigkim MJ, having seen all of his shows from the 80ties onwards, were never as cutting edge, creative or as polished as Madonna continues to be. MJ stuck to a formula that was predictable and routine. He stuck to his iconic dance style and presentation unlike Madonna who created a theatrical event that was completely memorable. MJ concerts merged into one. That’s what seperate Madonna from the crowd. I’m not saying he was a less talented performer, singer etc. I was a fan too however Madonna’s shows are a wowser.
“Madonna has a strong female presence, on stage. "What you need is a big, strong hand ..." she says, bringing a dancer to his knees and showing him who's in charge. More than 30 years ago Madonna, more provocative and extravagant, started "The Blond Ambition Tour" that shocked her fans and her detractors had nothing to do but accept that they were facing a great artist who redefined live shows forever! With this Tour she claimed her right to win the recognition of the biggest pop music star.
Rolling Stone has named The Blond Ambition Tour the greatest tour of all time. Madonna redefinned pop concerts. Before they were just a band and a setlist maybe a couple of dancers and a costume change. She was the first to combine a concert with theatre, fashion, performance art, dance and elevate it it's own art form. Every pop star since has followed the formula she made with BAT. And she's a classically trained dancer and was a professional dancer before she was singer
@@chrisman3431 no the bad tour is nothing like Blond Ambition. He wore one costume for most of the show, all the old songs were performed the exact way as he had always done them, the stage was static and he four dancers to replace his four brothers. Blond Ambition had four distinct acts, where everyone on stage had completely different looks for each act with the clothes designed by Gauiter, each act had a different set design, each song was radically rearranged or remixed and no song that was performed on the previous tour wae performed exactly like the previous time, all the songs told a particular message that linked into the story for that tour. She had 7 dancers plus 2 singer/dancers. The only things the Bad Tour and BAT had in common was the performers were born the same year, both had Vincent Patterson as their co-director cherographer and both sold out multiple nights at Wembley Stadium. Yes The Rhythm Nation tour had 9 dancers but Janet's stage was static and she had three costumes changes one for the control section and one for the rn1814 and then the finale. Not at all the same
You should react to DISCO INFERNO from CONFESSIONS TOUR, she was already 47 y.o. there, and still recovering from a serious injury in a horse riding accident, but the energy, fierce and charisma is there!
That was the opening number and the rest of the concert is just as energetic. She brought theatricality and dancing to her concerts like never before, setting a new standard for performers who followed.
And this was just the intro the greatest show on earth. I was lucky enough to see this iconic show in London Wembley 21st July 1990 (“The Fuckfest Night”) I was 17 and it was probably the best night of my life. So glad to see younger people feeling about her how we used to, when we were your age. Sorry to sound old, just love to see what a young Audience feel about these performances. Dude in the red shirt looks a little stoned. 🤪
Before this tour, artists stood at a microphone and sang with the band. This tour changed EVERYTHING. And touring by anyone has never been the same since, they copied it all. For the Blond Ambition Tour, Madonna was the biggest star in the world bar none and even the Pope declared that "with the Blond Ambition tour, Satan has been re released upon the world". High praise indeed if you ask me.
Madonna, Janet and Michael were literally the ones that created these type of elaborate pop shows/tours and made it the standard for a while but the bar has definitely been lowered since then
@@howiet1971 by everyone pretty much? There’s no one that can go on a 7 month world tour and sell em out anymore. That’s why we all see these Vegas residencies bc it’s easier to have fans flock to them in one spot rather than travel w a stage and blah blah blah all over world and not even sell out. That’s who
@@howiet1971 the industry. Selling singles over albums became the norm because money trumps artistry. There are so few actual artists left in mainstream music. It's all producer driven generic sounds that could really be interchangeable between artists and nobody would notice.
Really no, it was simply Madonna & Michael, everyone, including Janet followed “Their” lead. Those two set the platinum standard, how to put on a theatrical show.
@@peepee2922 You CLEARLY have NEVER heard of Beyoncé lfmao 🤣. She litteraly became the highesr grossing black artist of all time and 3rd woman after Madonna and Celine that has grossed over 1 billion dollars on touring. She does STADIUM TOURS not even Arenas anymore
The first time I watched this concert when I was young during the early 90's, all I can say is Madonna is really phenomenal! She may be too strong, vulgar and too sexy for my age that time...but deep inside I wanted to be like her
I seen this show at Wembley stadium London July 1990 fantastic show this performance of express yourself live nice France was the last night of the whole tour
This was part of her whole concert which aired LIVE on HBO in 1990 and I saw it live......on HBO.....LOL. I was 19 in 1990 and had a friend who had went to the auditions for her dancers and did get a callback but didn't have the money to fly back to LA so it went to someone else. Songs were longer back then because streaming services didn't exist, so they didn't have to sell themselves out by making 2 minute songs just for more plays. Also, Gen X had longer attention spans because we didn't have instant gratification.
Love how you guys play the music loud in your reaction video, it makes it so much more fun to watch! Love your commentary, too. We watched this I think live on HBO in 1990, it blew our minds. xoxo
You guys are right on track with the short attention span of the young ones today. I can tell it was a little bit of work for y’all to get through it. You stopped it too many times. Oh, and I was at this concert on LA in 1991. Amazing.
I'm always interested in what kind of latinos people are. My guess here---y'all are Mexas. Cierto? You accent, even in English, is not of a Bori. Then, flaco's got the inevitable religious pendant. If you're Mexa, you're not from Calif, nor Tejanos. Viva México!🇲🇽🇺🇲
High key Madonna and your “ boy” Dennis Rodman were only together like three months if that and it wasn’t really a relationship from what I’ve read in documentaries. She just wanted a baby. Anyhow good reaction but y’all always gotta bring up negative Dennis in every Madonna reaction so maybe u can stop ? Please. ? For us?
Yes, she's had much bigger, better and higher profile relationships than a fling with Dennis Rodman. Men like great actor Sean Penn, legendary movie star Warren Beatty, rap superstar Tupac Shakur, British movie director Guy Ritchie, rockstar Lenny Kravitz, male supermodel Tony Ward, baseball legend Alex Rodriguez she even went on a bunch of dates with the King of Pop himself Michael Jackson!
