I attended the show live coming from Uruguay. The vibe in the city was like anything id evee seen before with madonna music playing all around...people only talking about madonna etc. Looked like news casts from the 80s when there was a craze wherever she went.I loved the show, the songs and the vibe at the beach. Kudoz to Brazilians for organizing this huge event and everything went out perfectly. Now i want to rest and watch the recorded show later again probably many times over. Madonna looked great and I agree some of her tours are over edited without needing to. Just show her her crew and the audience and its amazing. Im happy i was part of this historic event!
THE SOUND! For all of us who saw the show at indoor venues across the world and watched the live stream of this spectacular production, isn’t it telling that the most impressive thing about watching this show is the AUDIO. Ironic for a show entirely driven by a track rather than a live band, The Celebration Tour, for me anyway, will be remembered for the appalling technical sound which now we can HEAR killed so much of Stuart Price’s mix! The heavy bass used across the tour bounced around sports arenas, drowning out so much of the detail. What a privilege to watch this as-live edit before we end up with the 3 cuts a second with slo-mo version!!
I just got back from the concert and I'm watching the broadcast! It's 4 am here in Brazil right now. 15:43 - we were 1.6 million people on the beach watching the show.
M looked like a goddess! And Brazil (Mexico too) treated her like the Queen she is! Also, it was a great idea for her to end The Celebration Tour in Latin and South America. Chicanx (Mexican-American) fan since 2000 when the Music single came out. At that time being a kid I didn’t even know that was her song until 2003 when she kissed Britney, lol. 🇲🇽🇧🇷
Hey Ben, its 7:37 am, I am the german guy…just had to rewatch the stream from the beginning, now lil tired🤣 Good night and thank u guys for everything🙏, gettin‘ emotional😢
Guys , there was the official after party organized by tv host and personal Madonna friend Luciano Huck at the Copacabana Palace hotel. Basically the party was for the crew and only 30 Brazilian guests . Madonna stayed at the party until 4a.m.
I was there and it was my first Madonna’s concert and it was an amazing experience. When she came in Vogue with the Brazilian colors flag it was insane. I Will never forget this moment
So glad Anitta came thru!. Live To Tell was another level tonight. The modifications were seamless. Take A Bow, Mother/ Father gone but we got Music so fair trade.
She performed Rain here in Rio in lieu of Take A Bow…in other earlier dates she sang Frozen. She alternated with these 3 songs following the ROL number.
I was lucky enough to watch the show live on Global play from Kuwait the show was absolutely amazing. I loved it and I got to see so many things close up that I didn’t get to see when I went to see the show live in London in December last year.!!!!😍😍😍😍🎉🎉🎉🎉🇰🇼
I feel so lucky not to have had any issues tuning into the live stream of the show! It was so incredible! I couldn’t be happier for M and her team, they performed their asses off! Now the reality of this being the end of the tour is kicking in. It’s bittersweet.
Ben said my exact thought ..staying up till 5 am here in Scotland listening and watching streaming super excited and going to all the fan forums chatting during. The last time as a fan I felt this excitement was also 1990 listening to the bbc radio one broadcast of Blond Ambiton!!
Hi Liberty, you got it right. La Isla Bonita is huge in Brazil since the 80’s and Spanish Eyes is a track that became a sort of unofficial single in Brazil back in a day. The radio stations played it a lot .
Yeah, I found a bootleg link too about half-way through the show. (Goplay was a bust!) The sound was fantastic! What an epic stage set up! Thanks, Guys! Night night!💤💤
there is a moment during Live to Tell when Madonna was supposed to release the balloon but it just wouldn't fly (in the arena I think they have something to suck it up the air)... you can see the disappointment on her face, and yet it fits the performance so well...
@@stephanerobinnantes for me the metaphor of balloon can go both ways, maybe this time she does not need or have to let go, and she gets to keep the balloon this time around
Someone told me that the balloon wasn’t allowed to be released in the air because the beach is technically in a ‘flight zone’. Dunno how true that is. But it is much of muchness, the ballon drifted down into the pit & was a nice touch to finish the song.
Agree that replacing the portal/booth with a park bench on Live To Tell was OK since it matched the opening line of In This Life which was the intro to this segment, but I miss it on Ray Of Light where by riding it high above the venue with those powerful laser beams shooting into the sky gave the illusion that she was on a cosmic trip.
As someone who was there on the beach, I can guarantee that Ray of Light was amazing regardless of the booth. The lasers, the lights and the intensity of that remix were enough. It was AMAZING. I did miss the booth in Live to Tell though. But still: it was so emotional and she adapted the visuals to pay homage to Brazilians who died of AIDS. It was all incredible.
Guys , did you notice that Anitta was a bit nervous or maybe “I don’t know what am I supposed to do now “ at the ballroom moment ? Madonna kind of directed her at that moment . She did not rehearse as Pablo did - Pablo spent a week at the hotel with the crew, rehearsing almost every day.
I wish the episode started directly with how different this show was from the other shows. The mention of the 1.5M attendance! Is it the largest concert in history? Did she do Faz Gostoso? Of course Angel is in the MJ mashup. Freaked out from the very first London show when I heard it then. How can a fan miss it? By the way La Isla Bonita is Spanish not Portuguese. 15 minutes into the podcast and the impression I get from the reactions here is that it was an underwhelming show but maybe that’s post show fatigue. Omg! I cannot believe she didn’t do Faz Gostoso!!! What a bummer!! She probably couldn’t remember the lyrics lol! Anyhoo! Historical tour. I hope this last show gets remembered as something special.
No one’s asked BUT: Fav M album: LAV Fav M song: Into the Groove original version Fav Remix: Express Yourself Non Stop Fav Video: Hung Up Fav Tour: Virgin Tour, Girlie Show and Confessions (RH and S&S are literally her worst tours). Fav M movie that’s not a documentary: Desperately Seeking Susan/Swept Away Fav M Look: Steven Meisel’s Like a Virgin cover/Ray Of Light video.
My Fav album: Confessions On a Dance Floor Fav M song: Frozen (Radio Edit) Fav Remix: Impressive Instant (Rauhofer Edit) Fav Video: Hung Up Fav Tour: The Confessions Tour Fav M Movie: I’m Going To Tell You a Secret (I know a documentary). Fav Look: Late 2014 Interview Magazine Shots (before Rebel Heart dropped).
In the MJ interlude, does she say: “Do you wanna dance? I know I can do it better”? Or it was just me hearing that? It’s my least favorite part of the show, btw.
