this is my first (of 3) madonna concert i ever attended and this performance blew me away...it was one of the last songs...it was great....i vowed to never stop going to madonna shows as long as they r happening...
I agree with tallbridge, true artists will try and do anything, push the envelope as they say. Madonna has always done this and has given inspriation to millions to try anything. My wife calls her "my other wife." Her Confessions Tour DVD is unlike anything I've ever seen, especially the dancing. Those kids are incredible. The whole thing is perfect, I just wish she had another DVD of these other songs.
if anyone watched the documentary on this tour, madonna debated with her musical director (stuart price) about the bagpipe player. stuart said it would sound the same if they had played pre-recorded bagpipes and have someone fake it on stage; madonna insisted flying an actual bagpipe player from scotland and have him play live throughout her tour. this, ladies and gentlemen, is commitment, professionalism, and dedication to giving the best possible show to her audience.
This chick is a true original...wrote the book (literally, lol...) and is still better than anyone else out there. Lipsync? Maybe...they all do...but she can't fake that dancing....just amazing. One of the best nights of my life to see her sing "our song"...."Crazy For You" in NYC...just incredible....I hope she's got alot left for us.
As I recall from the time that a few of the dances in this tour were inspired by musical numbers from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. I think the stick dance is taken from one of those.
Why wasn't this tour never released as a live-dvd, just parts of it in the documentary? I'm sure there's more than just I who would love to have it on dvd. Madonna is awesome.
Classics are classics for a reason, and shouldn't be tampered with. People hold a lot of sentimentality to their favourite tracks, i personally hate it when I see mash ups like this.
Ms. Madonna! The one and only. Girlfriend can never be accused of not working her ass off onstage. This is totally hot stuff. Agree, it should be on DVD.
LOL that is the opening of the show for one thing and also this is Madonna, do you really think she is gonna go acoustic in front of a black back drop and bore people to death. She is charging $200+ a ticket for a reason, she is a music icon and gives you well worth that money in the full entertainment aspects of the concert. This isn't just a music concert she gives you, it is live art.
I like the tune but they need to get better fitting kilts and a base drummer does not wear a full plaid and the kilts should not look like dresses but other than those minor things it is a great song I like it
