Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at a first time reaction at the singer Ozzy Osbourne and Madonna with a rare song "Shake Your Head." This song has great dance grooves, but at the same time has those 80s/90s vibes I crave. I think this one is definitely a keeper , see why now!

A pre-fame Madonna had auditioned for the vocal but was not used on the final release. In 1992, it was re-recorded and remixed by house music producer Steve "Silk" Hurley, and features actress Kim Basinger alongside a re-recorded Ozzy Osbourne on vocals. The original plan was to restore Madonna's vocals to the track for the re-release, but she refused to grant permission, hence Kim Basinger was approached instead.

This song was re recorded and Kim Basinger did the vocals.

When this song was originally recorded, Madonna auditioned for lead vocals but they went with Ozzy instead. When it was re-recorded on 1992, Madonna passed and they got Kim Basinger to do the female vocals instead.

I understand that before releasing her album Madonna lent her voice to different projects and to earn some money, there is a project (non-canonical) called "the early years" a DJ who took advantage of the success she began to have in 84 , and released those remixes like "cosmic climb", "oh my god" with Madonna's sampled voice, selling vinyl, cassettes and unofficial CDs with photos of Madonna with the title "the early years" scamming people when in reality they were "screams", "choruses" and reactions with Madonna's voice. She also lent her voice to a song by Jellybean (the producer of her first album) "side walk talk" in which she does backing vocals and also speaks in a part of "promises promises" by the group naked eyes. He recorded this song in the early 80s (probably with different arrangements because the sound of the versions that exist on the internet is a sound from the beginnings of house from the late 80s), The song remained canned for a long time, I don't know when Ozzy recorded it but it wasn't with Madonna because there is a version of her alone, "Was Not Was" decided to release the song in 1992 and they wanted to release it with Madonna's voice but for rights reasons. and permissions used the voice of kim basinger and ozzy osbourne

The song has always been by American pop group Was (Not Was). Madonna, Ozzy and Kim were just guest vocalists for this track. Although I'm a huge Madonna fan I have to admit I always liked the Kim Basinger single version better. Her vocals were so on point.

I only remember the tune and Ozzys voice in this. Can't remember the female voice, but I think it wasn't Madonna in the version that I remember. Now this song feels very nostalgic....

A number 4 pop track, in the U.K, thanks to the brilliance of Steve'' Silk "Hurley during his amazing remixing and production period, from 1989 to 1996. If only I could re-live those sweet and fun days, where almost every house, garage, deep house, hip house, and hip hop release were something special.

Was Not Was is the name of the group that released this song. Madonna was not manipulating her voice by going into different registers, they were distorting her voice in the production. She just kept repeating the same line over and over again and they manipulated notes. They sped up Ozzy Osbourne's vocals too. It's a very housing mix. It was remixed by Silk Hurley who is known for house music

I remember when I got a cassette tape with this version back in the 90’s. It was like gold!!! I think Madonna’s vocal was never officially used when originally recorded in 1983. they replaced her vocals with another singer. In 1992 they tried to get Madonna to authorise the release of this song with her vocals, but she refused it. They then re-recorded it with Kim Basinger instead. It’s a fun track, but quite forgettable in my opinion.

...i hope i am not the bearer of disappointing info here - but this is the remixed/revamped version of the original with miss kim basinger instead of madonna - the reason for the length is that this was intended as a dancehall spin (remember dancehalls!). the record is by the mighty was (not was) - they made so many wonderful records - thanks for the, as ever, great reaction, dr d!!

The original 83 version was released by Was (not Was) on their album "Born to laugh at tornadoes" and is way better than this catch-it-all voguing version. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4AEVzWXkedE.html
