grzes2412 THE GREATEST MADONNA APPEARENCE THAT YEAR WAS AT "AMERICAS SHOWPLACE THE PHILADELPHIA SPECTRUM" NO OTHER BUILDING INCLUDING MADISON SQUARE GARDEN COULD MATCH THE PHILADELPHIA SPECTRUM.
Now *_THIS_* is a concert worth going to and paying for. Pure entertainment rather than most concerts today that simply have your favorite artist standing on stage holding a microphone and staying in one place the whole show. To me, that is not entertainment.
Aleatha Vogel I totally agree with you. I wish more people would get this. Putting on a show is more important to me than having an amazing voice. In my opinion watching a singer just stand on the stage the whole time is a waste of time & money. You’re better off just saving your money by staying home and listening to the CD instead.
almost 40 years later as a great fan i know WHO, THAT GIRL IS. MY QUEEN TEH ONE AND ONLY. she is the strongest woman in music bussinus for me. and will always be. the only one who work hard and make here things. love you forever
This particular concert had AMAZING musicians and synth work. it never got the credit it deserved in that respect. Every song was arranged to be beautifully lush and atmospheric, for example - La Isla Bonita sounds out of this world. I hope one day this tour is remastered in superb high quality because it deserves more recognition for its incredible live music presentation.
people compare this madonna with the one now....... but you cant she's older now we all change over the years. yes she moves more here and stuff but she's older now we all get older and even in her 50's she moves more than other people her age.
No-fucking-body moves like she used to back in the days... not even the "younger" ones; now it's all boring disconnected choreographies that often dont even follow the rhythm and the music. She used to move to the music. That energy she had, that appetite for life.... like she said once, her concerts were a celebration of life.
Couldn't agree more, louloutre. I used to teach dance and Madonna is quite simply a stunningly brilliant dancer. Musicality seeps out of every pore in her body. Her sense of timing is preternatural and all the technical qualities one looks for in a dancer she has in spades: perfect line and placement, extensions to die for, extraordinary control without compromising one ounce of the explosive dynamism so evident in her performances. I could go on but I'll spare you the extended panegyric I usually harangue anyone crazy enough to listen to me with...
Cecily Macnamara Im glad to hear that :), knowing you're a professional. Im not, but to me, it was always obvious that the basis of good dancing is the rhythm, and feeling the music. I don't know when that stupid commercial choreography trend has started... but it seems to me that it used to only be used in Las Vegas and in musical comedies. Now it became mainstream... even Madonna concert have that now. When I think about dancers in the Blonde Ambition tour, or the dancers dancing with Michael Jackson back in the days.... they didn't seem so mechanical. They were real dancers, not moving puppets.
Truly great dancing like truly great music has got to have soul. A dancer has got to inhabit the dance not just go through the motions and Madonna at her best always delivered that. I can't bring myself to watch a lot of the current crop of pop stars although I occasionally watch music videos. Depressing beyond belief. And a lot of the dancing is cut and edited to within an inch of its life in a vain attempt to make it look more than it is. I don't mind imperfections if the intensity and emotion are there but those are two qualities sadly lacking in pop music today
Oh man...watching this always makes me sad and think how amazing it would be live all of this. All those people are so fxcking lucky and they don't even know it.
I know it might not be important for SJWs, but THE PEOPLE were happy. The majority was happier than today.... the LGBT community level of happiness doesn't reflect an entire society wellbeing.
I remember those mornings of waking up with the dreaded MOSH-NECK, and couldn't get off my pillow!! Still, a good old-fashioned SLAM-DANCE can really make you feel ALIVE!!! #MadonnaMAGIC
My favorite song overall from her repertoire. Perhaps she is the best female singer and dancer of 80's. What made her music so grand (at that time) was the matching voice of the backup vocals ladies, their and the band, man! What a band! All credits to each. Madonna is talented in her own right, leading singer had to have a solid band to reach such success.
Young madonna had so much grit. So balsy. So sexy. So powerful. A force of nature. I wonder if her kids ever watch and think wow...we cant ever live up to that.
Close your eyes and start here 0:26 to here 1:04. You can almost feel the earth move like a little volcano about to errupt. It's magical it's moving it's everything
It was $40. to see this in Toronto in 1987 and wow what a show it was. Madonna was great in every song and it has stayed in my mind for a long time. So glad I was there.
La incomparable e inigualable Madonna con una voz impresionante e inigualable guahuuuuu!su tono de voz a cambiado pero sigue siendo una Reyna con ese tono inconfundible
30 Years Later And This Song Is Still Popping The Charts She Haven't Sung This Song In Along Time Bout Time She Started Back Singing It On Her Rebel Heart Tour This Song Was A Hit Back In 1987.
HER PHILADELPHIA SPECTRUM CONCERT THIS SAME YEAR FOR THIS WAS EVEN BETTER, EVERTHING SOUNDED LIKE GOLD THAT NIGHT ESPECIALLY THIS SONG. THE NIGHT I GOT PICTURES WITH HER IN THE BACK.
With all due respect to you, my friend, are you really in a position to be judging the "sheer energy" that she put into her "later tours" when, as you yourself acknowledge, this "Who's That Girl" tour was the only live show of Madonna's that you actually attended?!
@@lavielemond yes. I formed my opinion not from my personal concert experience but by watching the Ciao Italia video. The concert I watched I was sitting way in the back, Madonna was a speck and my recollection of it faded in time.
Que energía de esta mujer Dios!!! porqué no pude disfrutar de esta maravillosa artista, ese año yo recién llegaba al mundo.....¿QUIÉN ES ESA NIÑA? la la la la laaaa
Lyrics: Who's that girl? Who's that girl? When you see her, say a prayer and kiss your heart goodbye She's trouble, in a word get closer to the fire Run faster, her laughter burns you up inside You're spinning round and round You can't get up, you try but you can't Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) You try to avoid her, fate is in your hands She's smiling, an invitation to the dance Her heart is on the street, tu corazón es suyo Now you're falling at her feet You try to get away but you can't Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Light up my life, so blind I can't see Light up my life, no one can help me now Run faster, her laughter burns you up inside You're spinning 'round and 'round You can't get up, you try but you can't Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Light up my life, so blind I can't see Light up my life, no one can help me now Who's that girl? Now, who's that girl? Now, who's that girl? Now, who's that girl? Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?) Quién es esa niña? (Who's that girl?) Señorita, más fina (who's that girl?)
