Yes, make Thuli Madonsela the speaker of the National Assembly. Democracy, the Constitution and an unbiased person controlling Parliament can only do everybody good.
This saga has dragged on for so long, dragging the ANC's reputation in the mud in the process. Is it not time now to do the decent thing and declare we are in a crisis of historic proportions - because of unaccountable leadership produced by a badly designed constitution. The PP says both Parliament and the Executive have failed the constitution. Can we deny this, fellow South Africans? This is big stuff. Yes she is probably right but wrong to stop there. She should also state clearly that this double failure shows the constitution is faulty, is a bad design, does not work, etc. But then she stops shot of utterly those brave words, perhaps for fear of alienating he supporters who are worshipers of the Constitution and its glaring weaknesses.
+Biza Majuqwana "The constitutional court says both the parliament and the executive have failed the constitution". Why and how? This is shocking coming from the CC and that is why I maintain that the root cause of the failure is the same Constitution because it promotes lack of accountability, eg. you have parliamentarians who represent no one but themselves and their bosses. It's constitution that was designed to end apartheid but to obstruct democracy, to lock the interests of the majority out in the cold. We need nothing less than fundamental constitutional reforms to change the 1996 constitution to make serve the peoples' needs, not elite needs.
