Spain is renowned for it's wonderful wines and we love visiting wineries so of course we had to take a day to tour several wineries in the Madrid Wine Region (Denomination of Origin Vinos de Madrid). Our small group tour traveled to three wineries just outside of Madrid. Each stop was absolutely amazing. One was the winery built for the Spanish Royal Family in 1782. One was a small family owned traditional winery in operation for about 200 years run by a man and his playful, trusty, (and cute) dog. The third was housed in a centuries old building that was once a convent and sits on top of a maze of some really cool wine caves. Throughout the trip we not only got to experience all of the unique wineries we also got to sample a lot of amazing wine. Our experience of visiting each place was unforgettable.
