Bro it was betel leaves... Here in India its named lik Beeda, vetrilai etc... It's usually eaten together with calcium carbonate and Areca nut...eating this After hav a meal will help for digestion... Also the leaves and a pinch of calcium carbonate strengthen the bones, tooth... That's how many of our grand ma and grand pa in villages eating then hav stronger bones and tooth... Only issue is the strain after it which can b wiped out by brushing ur tooth...hope this helps...

Its betel leaf shin.. its very good for digestion.. we can chew it nd swallow it.. don't want to spit out the juice.. if u add tobacco with that then u have to spit it out otherwise u can eat it.. its a custom followed by us in celebration after feast..
The one you ate at end is not soap😅😂 it is made of betel leaf, betel nut, very little amount of limestone paste. It is mouth freshener and also good for digestion after a heavy meal. And Thank you for making me enjoy the bliss of Madurai through ur video, I was missing it sooooo bad 💜
The green leaf you were eated at last is called betel leave. You are not suppose to eat it, only chew it. But since you didnt like it I bet you are not going to try it again. :D
That's not soap which is thambulam, which is very good for digestion, which is eatable, , and that's not lamb , which is goat intestine and goat blood my fav dish I hope u enjoyed this trip shin
You should buy some sunglasses while in india ;) they also have some nice shoes and stuff when you go to the malls. Finally you went to a catholic church in india and I almost laughed really hard when I first saw the leaf. It looked almost like paan which is a drug in india but other posters said it was for digestion so guess you lucked out on that lololol
