My dad showed me Mae when I was like seven. I’m an adult now and he recently passed away, listening to them makes me feel like he’s with me again. They’re coming to my city on tour in MAY and it gives me so much closure to know I can see them live just like he did at my age 🖤
I want to feel good, so I listen Mae's Everglow album. THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND AND ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you MAE!!! I have listened your songs from 2005. You are MAGICAL still in 2023!!!
Mae, one of the most underrated bands ever. Their music has helped me through just about everything, and helped shape me into who I am today. I owe this band a lot, and I will be a loyal fan forever.
Yes and oh my gosh it instantly brings me back to feeling young alive and like my whole life is just beginning with endless possibilities. I so miss that. I love my family and what I have now, but boy did I love that time in my life as well.
I quite often go for long walks while listening to this whole album. Their songs paint incredibly vivid pictures and I can lose myself in the music. There's no better way of clearing my head after a long day of work.
I know I’m late to reading this, but I couldn’t but say I do the same thing when I run. I put this album on and it feels like I’m in a dream. I forget about the world around me
mae is like your best friend, whenever you need someone to comfort you they'll always be there for you. and plus theyre like the most sweetest most nicest band ever its a shame there so underrated.....
A girl named shay showed me this band years ago. I broke her heart to pieces. Every time I hear a song by Mae it makes me feel so... guilty. But I love it. Sorry shay, we were crazy about each other but I'm sure it was just young love.
I saw them live I think on their last tour they did in 2011 or 2012. It was at FSU at our on campus small music venue. One of the best shows I've ever been to. After the show was over Dave went outside in the courtyard and played acoustic for an extra hour and just chatted. A memory I'll never forget. Thank you for writing The Everglow, Mae. It touched many.
Saw this song live in Chicago around Christmas in 2021. They played with another of my faves: The Juliana Theory. JT played "Emotion is Dead" (my fav JT album) front-to-back and then Mae played "The Everglow" front-to-back. I'm only 37, but I'm gonna have a hard time beating that show!
I love Mae. Such an awsome band. Me and my friends always listen to them when we hang out. we feel so free like... I can't explain we just feel so happy when we are all together listening to them.
i lost count of how many years i’ve listened to The Everglow front to back. i never get tired of it. one of the best albums i’ve ever heard, every song is a masterpiece
Great band, still have a signed flyer from them floating around from early 2000's when they played in Portland,OR. I wasn't able to make the show, but my sister asked them to sign it. They wished I was there to sing and talk music because I'm sure my sister mentioned me singing their songs so much growing up.
Thank you so much for this song. I just found it. It's really helping me to heal from something that happened in my past. I'm a survivor of sexual abuse.
Bro this song is so good they sound like angels and the band in the back is just so good, there aren’t enough words to describe how much I love this song❤
Currently in my bed, eyes closed, listening to this song and it brings me right back to being a kid again… life was so much better when this song came out, being an adult blows.
Wow, I can't believe I never heard of this band back in 2005-2007. I was major follower of Boys Like Girls and All Time Low at that time. But I can't believe this band was not famous at the time. That the peak of the Emo Pop-Punk Genre.
Tooth and Nail (their record label) was more focused on Underoath at the time, didn't really give Mae enough advertising. When they got signed to Capitol Records, a huge deal for a band like Mae, they released Singularity and Capitol wasn't impressed by its sales and dropped them shortly after. Shame cause the band is incredible.
"The Everglow" is by far their best album yet. Although, I've noticed that my copy of The Everglow is green with gold print on the cover and I can't seem to find another copy like it anywhere else. Huh. (m)orning was great and hopefully I'll be there in Phoenix for (a)fternoon! :D
