Maeve Wiley, Aloneness 

maeve is such an important character to me. she literally has a piece of my heart. knowing that this was emma’s first role, is really a shock because she acted so good and with emotions and everything. she literally deserves otis and everything she wanted in her life. maeve’s story is such an inspiration to people (including me). maeve gets hurts a lot of times, and she handles it by herself, she honestly deserves to be happy in season 3.

A part of me wishes I wasn’t Maeve. But then I realise. I am proud to be Maeve.

“To ever feel the debt of my aloneness.” That hit closer to home than I expected, I have a few friends but even with friends, you can feel lonelier than ever.

I never tire of watching tributes to Maeve, the girl with the tough exterior and such a soft, tender heart. For me she can do no wrong, and I spent most of my time just wanting to give her the hugs she needed all through the show. Emma is such an amazing actress and she works miracles with a very clever script. I'm old enough to be her grandad but she gives me such a warm feeling inside whenever she smiles. I've never watched a show so many times on repeat and it's so good that the cast get on really well together IRL. Other than his disgraceful drunk behaviour towards her in ep6 s2, which really made me hate Otis, it's a pleasure to cry with her when she cries inside and get emotional when I see in her lovely face how she feels about Otis when he treats her right. Love her with Aimee too. Great work Cilyra! :-)) Now I'm off to watch that walk home from the clinic, and her reaction to the 5-year diary and a few more heart-wrenching scenes.

She won’t be alone. She’ll be happy in the end. I see it. We just have to wait to get their. For now she just has to hold on to what she has in her life. Her friendships, relationships, etc. and never let them go. She has grown into such an adult and I look forward to seeing where her life takes her. Her and Adam both are the characters I just wanna hug tightly and say “everything will be ok”.

Beautiful. You explored Maeve’s character so brilliantly and I doubt anyone will make a better study for her than you. The song choice was great, using it from the show itself, and the scenes were placed together so well. The quotes were very well done and I’m astonished at how you showed off Maeve’s relationships with her mum, Otis, Jackson and even briefly the teacher and her quiz team in such little time. This is one of my favourites from you ❤️❤️

Life isn't perfect, Maeve has helped me come to terms with that. She reminds me a lot of myself. She wants to be tough and she is however she just wants to be loved. Otis or any boy for that matter is too blind to see that. Otis does treat her right but all boys up till now have just wanted to get in her pants. I can really relate to Maeve; not always fitting in, doesn't do parties, tough exterior, soft and delicate interior, not finding love easily, not the best parental relationship. Maeve is perhaps the character that I have ever related the most to. No wonder I want to hug her and help her see that she's amazing. Maeve has shown me that I'm amazing, I don't need some boy to show me that. Boyfriends are "just someone else to let you down, isn't it?"

Especially when you live with someone whom you don't know continuously hurting you all the time. I am confused between right and wrong. I am always confused. I am in pain.

Maeve is one of the examples of just bc you have a broken home and wrong choices,doesn't mean u r the bad person and that you are a low life and that you can't succeed and be smart

As a guy, I relate to Maeve so much. The way that she covers up her loneliness, sadness and constant fear of being disappointed by those you care about (and most of the time, they do) with being mean, tough, cool and smart is something I feel constantly on a daily basis, more so that men are not supposed to care or not show feelings and basically have to bottle everything inside, especially when you get hurt. I hope to one day find my girl Otis and hope my working hard now will get me somewhere out of the shithole I'm in.

Her character grows with every season. How could she trust anyone when her own loved ones betrayed her multiple times but she kept on trying no matter what but I'm glad that she finally chooses herself over everything.

And in season 4 also, they do not end up together. 😣 The ideal ending would be, they going back to moordale secondary and starting their clinic. The best thing on this show was - how they both look and smile at each other. I totally fell for that 😊

I thought she was a rebel without a cause in the trailer and was fully prepared for hating her but I was so wrong. She's such a wonderful character and her softness for otis, Jackson, aimee, Isaac, and her mom and sister along with her smart mind and quick wit, I can relate to 50 percent of the time but she has my empathy. I love Maeve ❤

I love Maeve so much but I don't like the idea of her and Otis together, I think she's so much more than that.
