i am pretty sure the action figure has more articulation than the actual costume. there was a reason peter took mime classes for that role and it was not just for the robotic aesthetic. it was blending the aesthetic with the suit to create a more realistic character.
Love it, been hoping you’d review this guy. I haven’t posed mine too much but those leg pistons make me so uneasy. You’re right, I was really hoping for either a damaged helmet accessory or a swappable head where the visor is damaged with his eye exposed, it was such a cool scene to me.
Mafex have been killing it the last 2 months with their releases, and this definitely their best release of 2023. Even better than their Steel and Magneto. The facial likeness, damage sculpt and paint are as good as you can get in 1/12 scale. 5 ⭐ fig. Oh, and I'll buy that for a dollar!
I was baffled that you hadn't reviewed Mafex Terminator, I thought you hadn't picked it up. Glad to see you didn't skip on it, I think if you liked the film it's a must have.
Figure of the year, and it's so much better than anything else, it's not even close! As for not including a helmeted head: look closer at the collar. There's a black ring around the detail that's on the "clean" suit that's taken off when he does the "face reveal." It would have required more tooling or removable parts to make it accurate. I personally don't feel it was a necessary inclusion cause this is Act III Murphy. The upcoming clean "blue" figure from RoboCop 2 absolutely should have included a helmeted head, though.
I agree. Mafex have released some top figures in 23 and Robocop surpasses them all with it's complex and detailed look and damage effects perfectly recreated in it's sculpt and paint. Unfortunately, just like their Terminator figure, which I think was one of the best figs of 22, it will get overlooked because it is from an 80's movie, whereas Marvel and DC characters get higher ratings on RU-vid videos almost by default just because of the popularity of those brands.
Hmm, there was a Mafex Robocop with the switchable busted chest piece and busted helmet version so then you could technically swap the busted helmet version to this damaged Robocop body: less work than painting the undamaged swapped head! Thanks for the review! I have the Mafex damaged/undamaged version which I love! And then I got the undamaged Neca 'Murphy' Robocop but there is something about these Mafex versions that I like more so defo picking this one up!
Awesome Review Bro👍💙, sorry to hear about your broken Neca Robocop🙏. I normally keep my Neca Robocop in standing mode because I'm worried that I might accidentally break his piston on his feet.
Great figure, and a sculpt that captures Peter Wellers likeness. While not the most articulate (it's Robocop) its a strong contender of the year for me for the paint apps and detail!
Agree. The likeness, sculpt and paint is as good as it gets in this scale, and it has all the accessories you could want. Only because it is from 80's movie and not from the current slew of Marvel and DC properties, will it get overlooked.
I love the colors and damage details in this figure but I'm not sure I'm gonna buy it just because there's no extra head with damaged helmet, that was disappointing,I mean how dare they made a Robocop figure without any Helmet?😅 I have the movie 3 version
Hello Mister D Amazing ! Very good job from Mafex for this Robocop Murphy Damage Head. I prefer this "new" version over the old ones. As you told it, this figure is like your video(s) : "magnifique" ! 😍🤩😉
The Hagane Works Robocop is dope. The upcoming Hiya Toys Exquisite Robocop, actually looks identical. So identical, in fact, that I'm kinda scratching my head wondering what connection there might be between Hiya Toys and Hagane Works. Like, are they affiliated somehow?
Thank god, i was wondering if i can swap the heads, i wanna use the clean version battle damage head on this body and the unmasked head on the clean version
